The location is unfortunate. It is very easy to hide in Northern WI. Scattered small towns, hunting land, public forests, cabins.... I think the perp is either nearby, or headed further north.

I spent my afternoon driving around the Chequamegon. I saw a lot of hunters out and about. Hopefully if the perp is hiding somewhere, the influx of hunters will either scare him out into the open, or someone will spot Jayme. We still have a few weeks until November though.

Here's a thought. Maybe James had a buddy over to the house, they were drinking and an argument ensued. The guy went out to his vehicle and got a gun and......
I think this sounds very plausible. But why take Jayme?

Earlier I said they should add about changing appearance but I obviously missed that, sorry about that!

“Fitzgerald said the public should be mindful of someone who missed work suddenly; missed scheduled appointments; suddenly left town without a reasonable explanation; changed appearance; is acting anxious, nervous, or irritable; or is paying an unusual amount of interest -- either too much or too little -- to the progress of the Closs investigation.“

Jayme Closs disappearance: Volunteers join search for Wis. girl whose parents were killed

“Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says the ground search won't resume Friday. His office coordinated a ground search Thursday using 100 volunteers to comb fields and ditches, but he says the search turned up nothing of evidentiary value.

Fitzgerald says his office hasn't received any tips that would lead deputies to continue the ground search.”

Curious as to what made the 911 operator note possible suicide during that “yelling” call? Is that protocol when they can’t decipher what’s going on? IMO he/she heard more than what they logged.

I'm way behind on reading so this might have already been suggested but I wonder if Jayme was heard pleading with the assailant and saying something like "Please, I don't want to die" and maybe he was saying something back like "Do what I say, and you won't die". Or maybe Jayme yelled "Help! Don't let them die," referring to her parents who had been shot. If these words were through heavy sobs and garbled from other noise (dog barking, parents moaning with their last breaths, the sound of clothing moving over the phone speaker as she tried to keep it hidden, etc) perhaps the 911 operator only heard, "help...don't...die" and thought it was a suicide attempt (like if someone took drugs then changed their mind and called for help). Suicide attempts or drug overdoses are probably much more common than double homicide and kidnapping in the area. JMO.

It wasnt even mentioned? Maybe its too far away to be "local." Has it been on any of the major networks?
I live in Boston and it was very National last night. Again, I hope all are not too focused on family and more what LE are looking at.

This is going to sound completely off the wall so please forgive me. However it is one aspect that hasn’t been looked at and I’m trying to cover all areas.
Hang with me very far fetched. Could it be possible since the family was kind of “reclusive” they may have been in some sort of witness protection type thing? And possibly located?
It seems we know very little about the dad and the mom and LE isn’t saying much so could that be the reason?
Again like I stated very far out there... but covering all options since none of this makes since.
If they were in witness protection they’d have lost touch with all prior family and friends. They’d essentially all have become new people with new backstories / id / school transcripts etc. So this isn’t realistic.

I am new here. And trying to be objective and withhold much as not to cause drama. I firmly feel Dad walked into a home invasion. He was shot upon arrival. I also firmly believe the 911 call happened from mom of even Jayme. They were protecting eachother. I do not agree there is any motive on victims part. Except they were there. I personally feel someone that is known not to family but LE that worked at the casino has much information. <modsnip - rumor>

Sorry if repost, doing my best to stay caught up:

Mother of missing Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs was 'family angel'; 'no clue' who killed couple, relative says

“The relative says Denise Closs was very close to her relatives and has been described as “the family’s angel ... she would take vacation days if you needed help.”

The family member acknowledges the rampant rumors surrounding the double murder and 13-year-old Jayme's disappearance. Some people online and also folks in the Closses’ hometown of Barron, Wisconsin, have speculated that Jayme might have had a boyfriend or met someone who took advantage of her and killed her parents.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow. We’re not ruling anything out,” the family member said.”

This was my initial gut feeling. It may not even be romantic. Maybe she met a friend online. Especially at that age, you can feel very lonely. I know I made friends online in game chat rooms and such... thinking back about it now, it makes you realize how vulnerable these kids are with the technology thats out today. Maybe she met someone while playing an online game? If so, would it be harder for the police to track down?

Yes! An online game! That’s a good idea!

Let’s go back to the the photo...can we tell what kind of phone she has?

What games are kids playing these days where they can chat? What games/apps are 13 year girls currently into?

She had a caregiver? If so, has this person been ruled out? Do we know what she needed a caregiver for? Was it emotional/behavioral? Was it developmental? Was it both?

Again, just seems like with the location and timing of everything that it was probably a targeted crime and by a suspect known to at least one of the folks living there.

Where is the information coming from that the mom was barricaded in the bathroom?

Is there a credible source for that or is it just speculation that is being considered as a possibility?

If it's a social media rumor, we will need to remove it and end discussion before it turns into a "fact" in this case.

Perhaps, and I'm not familiar with meth user's habits, but it would seem addicts wouldn't target a home with two cars in the driveway if they are there to steal to support a habit; then end up taking a kid with them. jmo.

Maybe some kind of drug induced psychosis or something along those lines. Delusional thinking while high too

Meth will make you psychotic too. Maybe these killers had meth muscles.

Discovers J in the house, had enough faculties left, that they balked at killing a kid, so they, in their meth induced thinking, see taking the child as the only other option. It's possible. Meth does some very strange things to folks.

Her aunt moved the location of her in home care. Not certain if it's a daycare or just a before school and after school program. It's her aunt. Her parents worked shifts! Her aunt is the caregiver
