WI - Madison, school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School 16 Dec 2024

Like I said earlier, she might also have had the given name Natalie Samantha, or Samantha Natalie. I'm fond of unconventional middle names, so if that's the case, I would get it.
Very early she was being identified by media as "Natalie Lynn Rupnow" and I did not see the name "Samantha" until the alleged manifesto (War Against Humanity) by shooter where she introduced herself as Samantha. Mom and Dad both featured photos of the decedent on their social but don't recall seeing any specific reference to her by one name or the other. MOO

Maybe our compassion train should stop with one of them, and for all.

No one pushed her to kill a substitute teacher. She probably had nothing against that teacher, but she didn't want to change her plan.

No one pushed her to take these photos - she wanted the world and history to see them.

Her parents' grief - let it stay with them. We are not blaming, but that's all.

I am sure that the parents and the loved ones of the victims are mourning in sorrow. My compassion lies with them. I also wish the wounded to make it.

For the posterity, we should stop mentioning the names of the victims. We should stop asking what they wanted (posthumous fame), how they self-identified and how it could have been prevented.

It is a cult, and we all know what year it started. But, there are probably psychologists and specialists who know how to deal with cults. Intuitively, I think, if these wannabes of internet fame knew that posthumously they would be ridiculed, maybe it would stop then and there.

So perhaps, if instead of trying to search for the name, we wrote "that bow-headed racist," or now, instead of commenting on her clothes or "the true name", we'd say "malnourished d@@k" (horribly, I know), this won't give the incentive to the next one to rinse, repeat?

And what's about this trend, to text a friend overseas and report? Is it a new relay baton? One idiot in California texts a girl overseas, she's even asleep, another one sends a photo of himself post factum, this gal whatsapped something. Is there a way to abort it with those kids, not to give them the microphone?

It looks to me like they are doubling it up. Could it be so? If the police finds a document on me and suppresses it, here is a copy sent abroad. Might a more organized internet community be quietly supporting them?

Document online being examined for authenticity

Madison police investigating today’s shooting are aware of a document online and are looking into it to learn more, Barnes said.

“A document about this shooting is circulating at this time on social media, but we have not verified its authenticity,” Barnes said.

Police are working to determine the motive, he said.

Police have spoken to the shooter’s parents, and they are fully cooperative, he said. Police are also searching the shooter’s home, he said.

But the shooting seemed to only start this past spring, as noted in the Newsweek article....

In the photo's comments section, he (the father) said, "We joined NBSC this spring and we have been loving all every second of it!"

Wisconsin school shooter Natalie Rupnow's father shared a chilling image of one of his daughters practicing at a shooting range in a similar T-shirt to one worn by the Columbine school shooters.

J Rupnow posted the snap to his public Facebook page in August. His daughter is filmed pointing a rifle at a clay puck wearing a black top emblazoned with the name of the band KMFDM.

Columbine killer Eric Harris was seen wearing a KMFDM T-shirt
ahead of the 1999 Colorado high school massacre where 13 were murdered.

It is unclear if Natalia is an only child, however he referred to his daughter as 'kiddo' in the post and spoke proudly of the child's prowess with the weapon.

Natalie Rupnow, 15, killed a substitute teacher and a teenage student and wounded six others with a 9mm pistol.

I have a KMFDM t-shirt too, from a concert tour, yet I have never even held or fired a gun in my life. I hate that the band is getting this negative attention again. I have listened to them for over 30 years and their music never once made me feel like being violent against anyone. I do understand how some kids who have issues could misinterpret their message, though.

Watching the presser. Unusual that they won’t say if the shooter is male or female. Maybe a gender issue that was troubling the perp??

I really cannot understand why the easy, concrete and tangible things are not done.

Metal detectors at the school doors with an LE officer or school resource officer supervising.

Parents locking up their guns in a foolproof safe.

The intangibles at the heart of these tragedies, the troubled people who turn to violence, are not always known in time. But some simple safety measures are worth it.

My school did not have metal detectors. The only time we went through the students’ backpacks was on Halloween so they didn’t bring eggs.
However, my eldest granddaughter’s high school did have metal detectors even though it was in a better neighborhood.

It doesn’t feel like a fortress. Kids get used to it, although they complain when it’s cold outside and the line is long.

IMO that is far the lesser of the evils.

ETA just now the police chief is saying he’d rather schools not have metal detectors. I get he doesn’t want an atmosphere like that, but which scenario is worse?
Imo

Either beef up security or take a chance this could happen yet again. No one wants to live in fear, but we need to also live in reality.

The NBSC - or North Bristol Sportsman's Club - is a gun club in Sun Prairie, a suburb of Madison, offering annual family memberships for just $90, according to its website.

Isn't this a bit unusual, a female shooter? I remember there was a case maybe one or two years ago (also in the USA, killer's name Audrey Hale.) but other than this person, I think I have not heard of many cases, in any country, where the shooter was a born female.

One of the first school shooters was a woman.
Brenda Spencer.

"The Cleveland Elementary School shooting was a school shooting that took place on January 29, 1979, at Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California, United States. The principal and a custodian were killed; eight children and police officer Robert Robb were injured. A 16-year-old girl, Brenda Spencer, who lived in a house across the street from the school, was convicted of the shootings."

Yeah I started reading through the Wikipedia of past school shootings and I’ve only got through the 1970s so far but I’ve seen at least like three or four girls.

I know I am old, but we always settled disputes with fist fights after the school bell off school property.

It looks like conflict resolution is not used by youth.
I think the problem is it’s not even coming from a place of settling a conflict. It’s more like “making a point” or some twisted attempt to have a legacy. It’s super messed up.
