I shall use the baby's initials that are above J.W.

Doctors at the hospital said the boy suffered from skull fractures, six broken ribs and a healing broken collar bone, the complaint said. They do not believe the boy will survive his injuries.

“My son hit his head on the wall. He hit his head hard on the wall, bro,” White allegedly said. “I heard the wall … It was a loud hard wall.”
'Heard the bang': Dad accused of throwing 8-month-old against wall because he was losing NBA2K

Some of the injuries on the child were in different stages of healing: one eye of his was swollen and he had injuries on his hands and leg, per investigators. When the child was taken to the hospital, a scan revealed several other injuries including fractured ribs, a skull fracture and a broken collarbone, the complaint stated.

During an investigation, White allegedly gave police several different stories — including blaming the child’s mom in one account — all of which reportedly turned out to be false, according to the complaint.

The child, named in court documents only as "JW" is not expected to live and the charges if that holds true will be upgraded to murder.

That was totally uncalled for! How would he like to be thrown up against a wall? People that do things like that should not be able to pro-create or see the outside world ever again!

Friday, November 15th:
*Preliminary Hearing (@ 1:30pm ET) – WI – *J.W. 8 months old, Nov. 5, 2024, Milwaukee. *Jalin A. White (20/now 21) arrested & charged (11/9/24) with felony child abuse (intentionally cause great bodily harm-Felony C) & felony neglecting a child (consequence is great bodily harm-Felony F). $100K bond. Milwaukee County
The child (born 2/28/24) is at the hospital but is not expected to survive, authorities say. Doctors believe the baby had been “abused multiple ways over a period of time.” “The medical personnel have indicated that this child, sadly, is not expected to live to which case these charges will be increased to a homicide,” Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Andrea Bolender said. The incident reportedly happened Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at White’s home in the 7000 block of 42nd Street near Good Hope Road in north Milwaukee. White then told detectives he was playing the video game NBA2K & became frustrated that he was down two points in the fourth quarter, which led him to throwing the boy against the wall.

My, how tragic. And the mother is also facing charges.

The complaint said the victim’s mother also is facing charges, but those details were not immediately available.

Something goes really wrong in some peoples' development, and if only society could figure this out better, so we wouldn't see this kind if violence. Marijuana was mentioned, but I wonder what else contributed. He's acting like it was a surprise to him that a wall was so hard and violence can kill a baby.

I see that the mother is now charged - but I do not see her name listed in the article - or did I miss it? Anyone know - so I can look her up in the court site?
TIA! :)

This.

It sounds as though the baby may not make it, and then the young man will likely face harsher charges.

But, there are common factors here that we continue to see in many child abuse issues--one being a perp who is NOT a biological parent of the child (usually male, stepdad, boyfriend). Another is a single parent (usually the mother) putting the perp's interests before her child's--sometimes to the extent that she joins in the abuse. Or, at least, ignores it.

This poor little guy was already healing from a broken collarbone, so it wasn't a single case of the young man snapping because the child wouldn't stop crying. It sounds as if the abuse was ongoing, at least to some extent.

Most communities have baby boxes where young women can give up their newborns, but maybe we need "older children boxes" as well. And, maybe we really need to make sure birth control is available for all and that young women are taught to develop strong goals for their lives early on.

Interesting how the title on the photo for the article says "Teen Accused of Throwing Baby At Wall" but in the article states that he's 20 years old at the time it was published.
Not that it matters but it's annoying when errors like that are made. He wasn't a teenager, he was less than a week shy of turning 21.
