So sorry to hear this Wendy. How are you feeling in yourself?
Not much fever, if any to speak of. Off and on w/lower stomach issues, vomited for the first time this morning. Started off w/exhaustion, dry cough, sore throat, pressure in ears. By Saturday I lost my taste and smell. I am on a z-pack and hydroxychloroquine three times a day. Now my husband and I are both stuck at home. I am going to update my doctor today and see what he thinks.

I'm sorry to hear you are symptomatic. No fever is a blessing, but I imagine with all the rest going on you still feel pretty lousy.

It's horrible that people in the health care field are being subject to report-to-work directives when they're feeling like crap. A little coordination of recommendation for when workplaces should be prevented from putting on that kind of pressure should be enacted or this thing will never get under control. I can't imagine many patients would be happy knowing someone waiting on a test result because they've experienced symptoms is still at work, and interacting with them or those treating them. :(

By contrast, our township has an outbreak in the sanitation department, and has quarantined the entire department for 2 weeks. They've hired a private waste disposal company to pick up the trash in the interim, after sanitizing all trucks over the weekend. People are griping about changes to the schedule, but some people will complain about anything. I'm glad the officials are taking strong, clear measures to nip further spread in the bud instead of spreading it among all the other public sector employees and their families.

I got a call this morning to return to work at 6am tomorrow. No negative test required. Tomorrow is my Day 10 and I am needed. I have no idea who is in charge of all of this craziness.

Can you suddenly develop a fever? o_O

My SIL, an RN, was off 3 weeks with it. On that note, how are you feeling today?

Not much different, to be honest.

wendybtn - how are you feeling today? Does your work supervisor know you tested positive? I hope you're able to stay home until you feel 100% well, for your sake and your patients sake. Big hugs to you and your husband! (no hugs emoji so just pretend there's one here - :))

Ok, let me get this straight. You are a healthcare provider and you are positive for Covid -19, you have symptoms, yet they are requiring you to come to work, to spread to your patients and co-workers?????? What happened to required quarantine??? I am in Knoxville, and just retired a little over 5 years ago from a major hospital and this is atrocious!!

Did you go in? This is crazy! Even if you aren’t contagious anymore (and it sounds like you could still be) you are still fighting the virus. And it’s not a virus to be messed with. If you do too much too soon couldn’t you become seriously ill? I hope you didn’t go into work and someone should tell your supervisor to pound sand!

Anyone’s kids had covid or had a test? My 4 yo woke up with a runny nose yesterday and today coughing (very little) but my anxiety has me panicking - rang doctor to ask for advice on testing so will see what she says... :(

Doctor would not refer grands for a test due to no fever. Has your little one been exposed to someone that tested positive or is presumed positive?

Oh geez, I am so sorry that you are sick.
Work forcing you to go to work is pure craziness and certainly not helping your recovery. An anonymous call to the health department? Is there a way to ask for the company covid protocol/procedures in writing?
It’s just wrong for them to do that to you.
:(

Doctor said he has to get a test on Friday if cough is still there. He hasn’t been exposed to anyone that I know of! His mood is great and normal which is reassuring as usually when he is ill he is miserable! Just so worrying..

He’s doing much better thanks! Runny nose is gone - so I think it was just a minor head cold!

Great news, as our family has gone through the same as to symptoms which we all now are hyperaware (at least those of us here!)

Just dropping by to say my daughter's father-in-law, Charlie, tested positive today after not feeling well over the weekend. Charlie is one of those affable, never-met-a-stranger kind of fellows that lights up a room. Great Christian family man, successful business owner, loves my daughter as though she was his own child. Charlie is 65 and although not on any medications, he is pretty hefty. I worry for him! :(

I'll keep Charlie in my prayers.

How long has it taken any of you to get your results back from the Covid-19 test?

I had mine done on Thursday around 9:15 am. I am not sure when it went to the lab. Dr said it would take around 48 to 72 hrs. I had the dreaded nasal test done.

I doubt if I have had it. I already feel better. I started feeling sick on Sunday with a sore throat. I ran a low fever on Monday until Wednesday morning. Runny nose and cough. Dr said everyone's symptoms are different. I still have a cough.
