She was not wearing shoes and little 3 year olds have tender feet, she would of walked slowly on a old asphalts road, you would think there would be some evidence if she walked that far to the river.

Well, all my kids might have wandered away. Going outside and exploring was fun for all three of them at her age.

Having said that, I certainly have met children who would never go out alone, ever. I think they're using the word "shy" when they mean "timid" or "anxious". I do know children who have serious separation issues, and must be in contact with their mothers all the time. The moms can't even use the bathroom alone.

The bolded is what I meant, and it wouldn't even have had to have been a permanent issue. I have two of a similar age and after we moved recently both kids (one cautious but not timid, the other a daredevil) both took about 4-6 weeks to be comfortable enough with the new situation that going out the front door would be a believable scenario. Opening the window and waving to the new neighbours while standing on the windowsill, however...:floorlaugh:

I agree with Dr. Fessel though, point two is more likely.

From what the grandma said, it sounds like Aliayah was the clingy type and wouldn't go anywhere without her mom. My son was the same way when he was Aliayah's age. I nicknamed him the "velcro kid". He clung to me like velcro. If true that Aliyah was sick, I can imagine how much more she wanted her mommy. I don't think she would've wandered off.

Poor kid. Praying for a miracle at this point.

Lena Lunsford's last contact with her daughter had been about three hours earlier, said State Police Sgt. C.M. Alton. Other siblings were in the home at the time, and authorities said the family is cooperating with investigators.

"Right now there are no clues leading us anywhere," said Sgt. Mike Posey of the Lewis County Sheriff's Department. "No clues."

Maybe I am naive but I fail to see any odd behaviour by the family yet. Granted, mum has a record but she may have turned her life around since then.

What does seem odd is the lack of information or news from the media.

I have read items of gossip on FB but they seem to be from random, unconnected posters and have no coherance

I just emailed WDTV and asked them to put a better reporter on the story.

I'd like to know who they're referring to when they say "family". The siblings were apparently at home with mom but we have yet to hear or read who else lived there. Did anyone else have a key?

I live in Charleston, WV and have heard nothing, zippo, on this case. How horrible. I googled Bendale, and it is a burb of Weston and only 2 hours from here. You'd think it would be on our news.

Anyone besides me find it strikingly odd that there has been no plea from the family 'to not hurt her'. Strikingly different from the comments of the parents of little Randall Chesser who went missing Saturday about 200 miles from where Aliayah went missing.


Also, and I may be way off the mark here, but I am getting a tinge of the Cindy Casey jail house recordings when reading mom and grandma's statements-with the wording, we want her back, or we just want her back. I don't have working computer speakers so this is just my observation from watching online without sound, or having seen news clips on tv of the two C's.

Another thing that is striking me as odd about this case. There has been nothing mentioned of signs in the home little Aliayah woke up before anyone else residing in the home. Three year olds don't just wake up and walk out the door.

If she did wake up first, there should be signs such as toys left out that were not there when everyone went to bed the night before.

An intruder should have been heard by someone.. How many people reside in the home?

The only scenario that is making any sense to me is a possible accident which this family feels the need to cover up.

It says a lot to me. Weston isn't a big town and I would think they would want the help of State Police and other larger cities nearby. She won't be found if your sister or me haven't heard a peep on the news. :banghead:

Parents can rarely believe their child would get out on their own but I know I read about an open door early on. Its to hard to believe when the water is so near..you almost need her to be abducted as a parent. Then there is hope.

yes..and however she got there, i believe that is where she will be found. Even if it was foul play..the river is the easiest place to hide her.
