South Charleston to Weston is about 1 1/2 hours depending on construction & traffic. This was game weekend so I'm expecting traffic was bad on 79 all weekend. Takes time to get the team ready also. I've seen the search & rescue team not make it till the next day. It was a very good response time.

Update - Sunday, 09.25.11 - 1:22 PM:

The girl, identified as Aliayah Lunsford, was last seen wearing her “Dora the Explorer” pajamas near her family’s home in Bendale early Saturday morning.

could just be a reporter typo though

My research materials are all hard copies but I'll be glad to provide you with links to the information available online if you are serious about wanting to learn about the subject of Appalachian Culture specific to West Virginia. I'm sure it's not hard to find.

You could start by reading Dr. Ruby Payne's information. It's easy to google.

Don't really know exactly what the FB poster was trying to say.....but the possibility of a 3yo child outrunning a dog/s for more than about four steps is very unlikely at best....

I sent her a FB message and told her stop posting on FB and call the police... her FB pic looks freakin' weird so it might just be yet ANOTHER person trying to get attention off a tragedy

That's very intuitive. I've read that people (when telling an elaborate tale, use markers (such as what you described above) by using times, dates, that they will easily remember.

I can't recall any time in a missing person's case where someone has given an exact time if it was an odd number... say, 9:17. And most people will use the half hour if it's closer than the hour. Or... here's a thought.. maybe she looked at the clock just before going in to the room and it really WAS 9:30.

As to the child's true age, maybe she's still closer to 3 than she is to 4. It doesn't matter, really, I just think analyzing their words and how they say them is a bit premature, but that's just me. No offense intended.
