Alligators aren't native to WV-we do have water snakes in some places, though.
Aliayah, you're never going to be forgotten.

<respectfully snipped>I'm bringing over a few post from Thread 1 from wenc. Being a local, these posts give us a lot of insight!

Bendale Church, next to the armory, did have food and drink for the searchers. All other churches are bringing donations and other people too. The divers are beneath the bridge I mentioned earlier. they did add a guardrail to the bridge at some point.
No one knows if Aliayah was missing for longer, they hadn't seen her in a while.
I do know that if a child wandered off in that neighborhood, the dogs would have barked and someone would have noticed her. If she made it to the highway, someone could have taken her.

I can't find the Bendale home address - how far to the highway, and which highway? Anybody know?
(hoping that she DID wander and was taken - don't know which is worse though....)![]()

Lunsford Home address:
49 Dennison St
Weston, WV 26452
Referenced highway: Possibly Highway 19 or County road 30
Distance from house to Highway 19: +- 1200 feet
Distance from house to County Road 30: +- 500 feet
Thanks for the data
- wow! - way close to two roads....
can't little ones that age hustle pretty quickly?
What if she wasn't sneaking out in the early morn, but running away from something/someone?
The FBI has specifically said that they have ruled out Aliayah wandering away on her own. They stated this case was one of concealment, abduction, or homicide.
Here is a link to an article referencing this:

I agree, the first thread has a lot of good information.
Thanks for the link, and I agree with you - first thread is great.
Maybe I didn't make myself clear in my other post - what I meant was, maybe Aliayah went running (haven't you seen kids running blindly, all the while looking behind them until they run into someone or something?) and was picked up/abducted by someone on her road or along one of the nearby roads. If they did pick her up, it'd be a quick jump and not much neighborhood (if at all) to travel through before they'd be on their way to wherever.
I've thought about mom's strange ride through town the day Aliayah went missing - what if she were looking for a particular car? Maybe one she saw lurking about the night before, or maybe one she saw Aliayah taken away in, someone she suspected but was afraid of? That's why no need for asking neighbors if they'd seen her.
I've often wondered/fantasized that the parents or one of them were in a way responsible for this baby's disappearance. (maybe after her for some "wrong" and angrily starting towards her - running her straight into the arms of an abductor? Or, maybe Mom favored her, and someone with a grudge, monetary or whatever took her) Now mom and dad really don't know where she is, but are beginning gradually to pay for their less than stellar parenting - at least from what information shared with us.
So much speculation and assumptions made in this case... I know we all just wish this pretty little baby were found and placed in a loving safe environment. :innocent:
I know some of the above must sound fantastically ridiculous, but stranger things have happened, and we don't want the other alternatives...![]()

oh no!!!! praying for who was found, and praying it wasn't Aliayah...
raying:
THIS is interesting.
While reading through Thread #2, it is mentioned several times that dogs traced AL's scent to the river and would place that scent to be 3-7 days old.
Dogs were brought in 3 days after disappearance if I recall correctly.
LL said that Aliayah had never been to the river and wouldn't go alone.
A VOICE IS SCREAMING IN MY HEAD- THIS IS IT!
The river has been nagging at me for the past two days. Why in the world would Aliayah wake up after a night of supposedly being ill and make a bee line to the river alone?
She wouldn't.
So, in my head all of these other scenarios about being stolen for her own good, or taken for a drug debt, or sold, or taken by an RSO, have been ruled out. Someone carried her to the river. Now the question is, who.
