Vickie-I just have to say that you have made me feel better about getting to the bottom of the mystery surrounding what has happened to Aliayah than I have felt in weeks!! You are truly a brave and compassionate advocate and angel for this child!! I only wish there were more "Vickie's" for the other missing children out there!!

maybe we need to look at another scenario.....We know Lena took a 2 hr (approx) drive that day claiming she was looking for Aliayah. But it's always bothered me that she took the other kids. You would think she would have left them at home if she left to do something with Aliayah.
What if Lena never left with Aliayah....what if she took the other kids out of the house so someone else could come and handle things. KWIM?
Who would Lena trust enough to call?
(Vickie...I'm sorry if that is too graphic for you....and I know it sucks to even think like that.....but we need to explore all scenarios)

We know that dogs were used in the search, but do we know if cadaver dogs were ever brought to the house on Dennison St.?

The reality is someone may have had a 2 hr window to get in and get out. A lot of ground could have been covered in that time. Aliayah may not even be in West Virginia anymore.

After hearing Vickie's description of Lena's trantrums, I'm reminded of my own children's behavior after I left their abusive father. Two of my daughters spent time in the hospital after their behavior was so out of control. Many years of therapy and lots of love (some of it some very tough love, including calling LE on them), they are doing great and have children of their own whom they care for very well. It doesn't always turn out that way. Some abused children, without therapy, will become abusers themselves.

Lena was not abused, spoiled maybe, but not abused, I do know this as I was around alot when she was little, And Jo Ann babysat for me some. I do know Jo Ann was a good mother to Lena. They were poor, didnt have a lot but she did take care of the kids. Lena had behavior problems and thru tantrum as long as ive known her. The other children were not that way. Actually Wendy is way too passive and immature.

In any of her tantrums, did she ever physically attack Jo Ann? Or threaten her? Just wondering if Jo Ann is intimidated by her.

lynnb, I've always leaned towards something either happening to Aliayah while the other children were asleep or LL taking the kids out of the house, while someone scooted off with Aliayah. Two of the siblings are old enough to speak properly. Now, I would be more inclined to think LL took Aliayah with her, had the children all been under the age of like, 5.

With the new info of grandma being the main caretaker of Aliayah for so long, my mind quickly shifted to something happening to Aliayah mainly on the basis of jealousy.

Just wish she would be found already!

Is Lena close with anyone who does a lot of traveling? Someone who could easily explain being unaccountable for for hours?
salesman....truck drivers.... anyone who could say "I'm hitting the road" and no one would question

The oldest girl is almost 12 - how could she be fooled? She's going to wonder where the 3 year old is. How is this going to work when they go home after the long ride and LL reports Aliyah missing? That scenario only works if coercion is applied to the 2 older girls.

A new show on ID discovery - Joe Kenda solved 389 murders. He talks about his techniques. #1 - wait for the 1st lie. If the story is true, it can be repeated. He asks the person he's interrogating to start from the beginning & repaeat their story or alibi. He does this countless times and waits for the lie.

How many times did LL tell her story? I just wonder if LE took it easy on her because she's pregnant. I wonder how many times she could tell the same story?

Lena took her older children on the 2 hour ride under the premise that Aliayah was missing and they were going to look for her. As far as the kids were concerned Aliayah was already missing when Lena put them in the car.

Being poor doesn't make you a bad parent! I agree.

exactly! And if Aliayah was 'supposed' to not even be in the home that night, well that's probably gotta add fuel to the fire.

I don't know.. my kids NEVER had sleep overs at 3, heck not even at 5! Unless they were staying with family.. but I'm paranoid like that

I've been looking for confirmation about the "party" and the only reference to a party I could find was an "IF" on the nancy grace transcripts. Trying to find the 911 transcripts to see if it was on there but can't find them again. anyone know if a reference was made to Aliayah being away that night was on the 911 call?

Yes. I don't think she left a body in the house to have someone else dispose of it. Disposal probably occurred when LL sent the girls to beg gas from total strangers. Why else drive around aimlessly?

It's late, I'm tired, and I haven't had a lot of time to follow things closely, but what jumps out at me is our scrutiny of the family.

We all aren't perfect, but could be it was just what it was reported to be - an abduction. Could be related to family in some way, and it might not be. I hope not.

I think it's easy to be critical of the "knowns", because, well, we know who they are. I think of other missing person cases where lives have almost been ruined from the intense media coverage and speculation only to find later it really WAS a stranger.

I hope that beautiful little girl is home safely soon - to both her maw and her mom, and everyone else who loves her. (I grew up raised by both and wasn't confused, I just felt especially loved).

I'm praying that the twins are born healthy, and I'm sorry for the children who've been removed from the home, and hope that can be resolved in a good way for all involved.

The last I heard, the reason they were removed wasn't made public. I'm hoping it's not due to neglect or anything like that, but maybe for their safety. As several have stated, LE doesn't divulge all their info...

Jumping off my soapbox now... and sorry if I've offended anyone...

but the girls could have found gas off of the first person they asked.....that's an awful big chance to take IMO.
We need more info on the whole running out of gas story. Maybe Vickie can elaborate when she's here.

LE has said that her story of driving around checks out on video. Can't have a better alibi than that and having your children verify that all you did was drive around doesn't hurt either.

It would be nice if the media could do an interview with one of the locals who was asked for gas.....hint hint

This is hard for me. As soon as a family member joins the discussion I stop asking questions. I did this in the Earnest Francis thread. This family is in so much pain, I don't want to make it worse! Yet, I know the tough questions are the ones that may lead to finding Aliayah..or any missing person. I would make a really crappy law enforcement officer.

Vickie, I hope you can understand that nobody here is attacking you or being judgemental. Our awesome mods take care of that! We keep asking questions, and keep asking until the person is found. Sometimes the questions are hard, and may hurt. We know that. But the goal is to find a missing person. When it's a child like Aliayah, it's even harder. We ask questions that may trigger a memory that may have seemed unimportant before....but may be significant.
