Could that have been SIDS? I don't know if they used the term SIDS back then.
(yes I was around then, but little myself)

I don't think the formal term SIDS was around then, it was just known as crib death. My cousin and his wife had a baby boy who died at 2 months old from it, he was an otherwise healthy baby. So sad.

I am reading that there will be a Q & A with the family tonight on a certain facebook page.

If what I'm reading is true...that may not be happening.
What I'm reading is a lot of excuses. The FBI took all Lena's pictures.....grandma is too distraught to look thru any pictures to see what she has...etc etc.

I am hoping to see some pictures surface, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.

I am sure she knows someone who is somewhat less distraught and would agree to help with the photos.

New Photos Released of Aliayah Lunsford
http://www.wboy.com/story.cfm?func=viewstory&storyid=111152
The extended family of missing Aliayah Lunsford, 3, has released some new photos of Aliayah. They include several from her first birthday and two from summer 2011, the family wrote on Facebook.

It bothers me a little that the reporter in the video Lynnb posted says that these new photos will aid in the search for Aliayah. But two year old photos... she's not going to look like that any more. Why nothing from her second or third birthday?

Do you believe the other photos are from Summer 2011?

I would believe Summer of 2010.....but not 2011.
IMO....the pictures on her missing poster from Christmas 2010 are the latest photos we've ever seen.
also IMO....the FBI/LE does not have any newer photos either...regardless of what the family is saying.

I was so disappointed to see that these were older photos of this precious child. That someone wants us to believe Summer 2011 is disgusting and frightening, yet on par with how this case has unfolded. How long until this baby is found? I hope every last person involved in her disappearance, on any level, is soon held fully accountable.

This case is just so sad. I have tried to keep my distance on this one because I am so bothered by the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. It's one of those cases that keeps me up at night, and breaks my heart.

But I can't stop myself from coming here anyway to check on sweet little Aliayah. I don't see anything that is encouraging.

Little Aliayah, where could you be? I have not lost faith in the ability of the FBI to get to the bottom of this. I can only imagine that they are banging their heads like we are. It always makes me sad to see when a little one "vanishes" a new law is born. BUT in this case and a few other little ones that are missing right now, I believe someone should write a law about the failure of parents AND families to AID in the investigation of their little ones. Especially when the VERY same government supports these little ones.

(BBM) There's an angle I hadn't thought of. Hard to imagine giving up a meal ticket, even if you have a whole bunch more. So that leaves what? Covering up after an accident? Or selling for some sort of short-term gain, which I seriously believe is the exception rather than the norm in these cases. Or some sort of inside-job abduction. Given the cast of characters, my vote is on door number 1. It's very easy for me to imagine a loss of temper leading to something bad, and then based on the news of this year, rolling the dice on a coverup.

Do we think that the same bunch of folks who sold their SNAP benefits while they KNEW the FBI was watching , are smart enough to hide a body and then cover it up? ---IMO the only way this is possible is if its a learned trait. OR if they are very close to someone who aided them. The fact there are NO other pictures of her since December 2010, is not only terrible, but makes me wonder did she really vanish when they claim she did?? OR did they wait til LL was close enough to labor to KNOW that LE would not force the issue?

I tried to briefly scan the Q&A thread but it seems basically more insubstantial stuff of no consequence (although kudos to imamazefor opening up the thread itself). The family situation around little Aliayah just sounds so upsetting. I can understand poverty from personal experience but I cannot and never will understand not caring for/nurturing/doing the utmost for children in that situation. I'll be praying again today for Aliayah and for a swift resolution.:tears:

Omygosh what a "discussion" with the family last night. My heart breaks that 5 weeks have gone by and still no news. And what is even more heartbreaking is what seems to be all the untruths that are being told. Thanks to imamaze and lynn for everything!!

Aliayah-I will be thinking about you today!!

I am very discouraged after the Q&A last night. I don't believe LL is being truthful to LE or her own family. Or they are all covering for her.

Is it ok to discuss what was said in the Q&A in this folder?
