Yes, they absolutely did.I think the FBI confirmed it was her, didn’t they? Later last night.

We still don't know if she was harmed. Accidents happen in the wild all the time and that still may be a possibility. Brian is said to only be 5'8" and 160lbs and Gabbie is said to have been 5'5 and 110lbs. He physically looks thin and weak, and like he wouldn't have the arm strength to move around a 110lb body IMO. In some photos his arms look as skinny as hers does. Also I read that he was vegan and was living off mostly watermelon/fruits on this road trip which would make him even weaker.

Thank you for sharing that
After searching a bit on Google Maps, trying to interpret the chopper's angles, I believe this to be the site where Gabby was found:

I know whenever someone I love dies accidentally in my presence, I make sure to not tell anyone, go on the run, and get my parents across the country to lawyer up and refuse to cooperate with the authorities regarding my missing loved one.We still don't know if she was harmed. Is BL officially a wanted suspect or is he still considered a missing person? If the latter, it is doubtful that LE can justify continuing to expend considerable resources pulling out all stops searching for him at this time. If or when it becomes an official manhunt, however, I imagine LE resources from across the state (and nation) will bring hell upon anyone trying to hide from this.
In fact, they may have "stopped" looking for him just long enough to now re-characterize the investigation and ramp up their efforts.

I think the FBI confirmed it was her, didn’t they? Later last night.
EDIT: I’m making this up apparently! But I don’t think they would act as confident if there wasn’t some indication that was assuredly her.
You are amazing and are also scientifically and reality based!!! Thank you for taking the time to go through this.Worth a look. Edit: it is a cleaned up version.
beautifully said. god blessI'm so sorry to read the news that they believe Gabby Petito's body has been recovered.
From one adventurer to another....
How I go to the woods
Ordinarily, I go to the woods alone, with not a single friend, for they are all smilers and talkers and therefore unsuitable.
I don’t really want to be witnessed talking to the catbirds or hugging the old black oak tree. I have my way of praying, as you no doubt have yours.
Besides, when I am alone I can become invisible. I can sit on the top of a dune as motionless as an uprise of weeds, until the foxes run by unconcerned. I can hear the almost unhearable sound of the roses singing.
If you have ever gone to the woods with me, I must love you very much.”

BL's parents searched the reserve themselves on Wednesday and Thursday, before their lawyer called the police on Friday.
On Wednesday they saw the car with the official note on it saying that the car had to be moved. They left the car there overnight for their son to use if he showed up. They picked the car up on Thursday. (The reporters outside the house saying they saw the car there on Wednesday evidently had their days mixed up.)
In this article is one of the videos that explains part of this (their searches on Wednesday and Thursday).
Body matching description of Gabrielle 'Gabby' Petito found in Grand Teton, FBI confirms
I am still looking for the other video where I saw the info about the note on the car and them later picking up the car. If I find it, I will post it.
I don't think their lawyer will be lying. He is acting as intermediary for them, for good reason. Because what he says should be relied on. It is his reputation at stake.
As several others have said, I believe this was a calculated move on Brian’s part to create an alibi. I’m not sure he planned every detail of his next moves, but I feel this was his initial way of hopefully blaming Gabby’s death on a stranger.Does the hitchiking make sense to anyone? now we saw the van parked and her body not so far away I can't see why he would have thumbed a lift etc. Seems he was with the van all along to me, maybe I am missing something
I'm siding with Josh Taylor, spokesperson for the North Port PD (especially due to the bolded emphasis):
“I don’t see how anyone without all the facts in this case can come up with a reasonable conclusion and opinion on the matter.” Ex-homicide detective Pat Diaz slams handling of Gabby Petito case

Why did he (likely) try to make it look like she was in Yosemite on the 30th?At this point in the investigation, is it at all feasible that Brian didn't kill Gabby?
I know the consensus is clearly heavily weighted otherwise, but I'm just playing devil's advocate here (innocent until proven guilty etc etc).
Could he claim he left her in the van, went hitchhiking, and when he returned she was either gone, or dead? Yes, he obviously should've immediately reported her missing/dead, but panicked and fled instead..
Is there already evidence in terms of time frames to refute this and blow his defence clean out of the water or is there a chance that it MIGHT not have been him, and his only crime was fleeing the scene and then having a meltdown and going awol?
MOO
That will likely be his defense if he doesn’t commit suicide in the interim. The fake text from GP’s phone on 30 August (“No service in Yosemite”) will hurt that defense. She obviously didn’t send it. Defense would also be impacted by his not returning any texts / calls to GP’s parents … if he is pleading innocent. He could claim somebody else killed her and sent the fake text. He could claim he was upset and distraught about a breakup and thus didn’t return texts or calls then when it became clear she was missing that his attorney advised him not to answer anything. At this point in the investigation, is it at all feasible that Brian didn't kill Gabby?

I’m hoping this also means her body was relativly intact. Can anyone make out what they’re taking a photo prior to reaching the body around the 0:45 mark?Chopper crew said they saw Gabby's body, so maybe she was not buried. Video at the link.

Ok we know she was harmed. That's already been affirmed. Actually harmed to death. 110 against adreneline? We still don't know if she was harmed. The reporter said 200 yards. Not 1000.

There is a 4th option, unlikely but possible,When LE stops looking for a missing POI it could mean:
1. They know conclusively that he's dead.
2. They've been contacted by BL's lawyer and are making plans to have BL turn himself in.
3. They're satisfied he's nowhere in the preserve.
I agree with this speculation as well. The fact that it was 6:30 PM, close to getting dark, IMO though, I think he was at the point where he had the alibi set with MB HH, and he had to get to where he parked the van before dark, then he headed East to Florida pretty soon thereafter. I also believe it is possible all cell phones were ditched at this point.MOO In regards to the hitchhiker, she turned on a road, not the 191 which would have passed the campsite, he then freaks out asks to get out. Maybe he wanted to go past the site to see if there was police presence etc. If he left her in the open he could of been waiting for her to be discovered. Hence him being away from the scene, alibi.
