And I still firmly believe that NOTHING those LE officers could have done legally that day would have broken them up and sent them their separate ways. Either one arrested (Him based on the 911 call, her based on corroborating interviews on the scene where BOTH of them said she was hitting him), the other would have filed the paperwork the next day to waive the no contact order and they would have gone on their way. The bottom line is that no matter how we evaluate it, the outcome will not be different. Whatever happened, ~2 weeks later, Gabby died. We may learn the circumstances, or we may never know. I wish the focus was more on what we DO know, and evaluating what we DO instead of a broken record of what we don't know, and making up our own theories filling in those blanks.

PERHAPS it is an opportunity for those officers and many others to learn more about those narcissistic relationships and how to identify them. But, being a narcissist is not against the law. And it is REALLY DIFFICULT to convince people in the throws of relationships with them to see the problems.
I full heartedly agree with your analysis that the officers could have done nothing to break them up! But I sure do wish they could have seen that BL was the offender rather than judging Gabby as being the aggressor. She was already so victimized, IMO, that she was automatically deflecting the blame on herself; she certainly didn't need to be pushed further down that rabbit hole.
Parents and loved ones have been, for generations, trying to thwart toxic romances to no avail. LE had no chance of succeeding in a one hour interview ~ But it doesn't mean they couldn't have done better. MOO (Edited for spello.)

I wondered about this too, as Gabby sits at the right side where the sun comes through the window.
If BL had grabbed her whilst in the van, it would more likely be her left arm as that would be closest to him? MOO

He had been smacking her before she got into the van.

Speaking of the supposed camping trip. Has anyone else seen that camper? Does it even accomodate 3 people sleeping?
It's in their driveway.

Where is Brian Laundrie? Here is where John Walsh says tips lead

CHICAGO (NewsNation Now) — After receiving about 500 tips from viewers, John Walsh, host of “In Pursuit With John Walsh” on the Investigation Discovery network, believes he has narrowed down the list of possible locations Brian Laundrie could be.

“We had at least three times more phone calls than we’ve had on any fugitive.” Walsh said.

In just three seasons of his show, Walsh has helped authorities capture 26 fugitives and locate eight missing children. He covered the Gabby Petito investigation on his show this week.

“We haven’t had this much attention since Elizabeth Smart,” Walsh said.

Walsh said the tips he has received lead him to three possible locations: Mexico, the Bahamas and the Appalachian Trail.

Walsh’s theory, which he said some of his tips also point to, is that Laundrie’s father or parents drove him Northwest over the Florida Panhandle toward Mexico.

WHERE IS BRIAN?

(I wrote this last night and tried to post it but the thread had been closed in the meantime)

But are any of these ideas practical right now?

It would be interesting to find out whether LE has BL's passport otherwise does he have a fake ID? Also would LE have checked whether BL left the country on or after September 11?
But which one of these destinations would be possible in September? I am Australian so I need your help to see if any of these destinations is possible.

MEXICO?

If I was BL, I would go to Mexico as my first choice. But how would BL get to Mexico?

My guess is that B's parents could have known on 10th September what was going to happen on 11th September, so they could have driven B to a city in the US near the Mexican border. It takes about 25 hours to drive there. With three drivers, they could have driven non-stop. The camper would have been packed with food and drinks plus more for B when he got there.
He could be staying in a hostel or Airbnb there. Then the parents drove back home another 25 hours or so with two drivers non-stop. The driving time would have been about 50 hours. They could have given B enough cash to live on as well and used cash to buy gas. Is it possible to pay for gas with cash?

However, the land border between Mexico and the United States is closed for nonessential travel through at least October 21. However, air travel is allowed. American travelers should remember they will need a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hours or less before travel to return to the US but do they need one to enter Mexico by air? Otherwise, could he have flown to Mexico on 11th September with his parents driving him to an airport and LE have not checked that yet?

BAHAMAS OR CUBA?

This would be my second choice. I guess if you have enough money, you could pay someone to take you there by sea and you could land there illegally? But you would need cash to live on and for bribes.

HIDE ON A BOAT SOMEWHERE?
But when provisions run out, you need someone to do the shopping or have it delivered in a different name or catch fish. Do BL's parents own a boat?

HIDE IN ONE OF HIS FAMILY'S APARTMENTS OR AN EMPTY ONE?
I read this his parents own real estate so is BL hiding in one of them or has he found an empty one before the snowbirds arrive? Ghislaine Maxwell had her food delivered to her in another
name.

APPALACHIAN TRAIL?
This is an area that BL was familiar with. So perhaps BL's parents drove him there on 11th September. This is where Chris McDonough of the Interview Room suggested recently.

Very few people think that BL is where they are currently looking now in the Carlton Reserve - alive or dead. If he really wanted to commit suicide, he could have already done that much earlier. The parents and the lawyer are acting as if BL is still alive.

Do LE have access to BL's parents' bank accounts? I think if they could do a forensic analysis of them, LE would be able to get some answers.

Where do you think BL could be? I have simply put together most of the places that have been suggested on these threads.

Well, I'll be. Here's something interesting, interesting to me at least.

Here's the website that has the video and transcript. The headline says it's the "full interview." ABC Exclusive: Full interview with Brian Laundrie's sister on Gabby Petito

You have to scroll down to the second video for the interview. The transcript is further down and contains all of the questions that the producer asked along with all of the responses.

The video was edited to remove questions about the van. The whole interview tracks word for word except for that in some cases, the questions were just cut out AND there is also a whole section that was cut out at around the 2:55 mark, and skips right to her assessment of how he behaved in the body cam video (maybe at the request of LE?).

Everything italicized is cut:

Question: Did the police say anything else about...?

Cassie Laundrie: No, I only had their initial questions and I haven't been contacted again and, and whenever they want to contact me again I'm here waiting they have my number.

Question: Did you know that the van was back and you're...?

Cassie Laundrie: No.

Question: So you didn't know that he came back without the...?

Cassie Laundrie: I assumed he flew back, because that's what he did when he is - actually I don't want to say that.

Questioner: No problem. No problem.

Cassie Laundrie: I think that's more police stuff.

Question: Okay, um, but is it is it like out of his behavior to go on a trip with her and then just leave her somewhere like has anything like this ever...?

Cassie Laundrie: No, I mean. No, nothing like this has ever happened before.

Question: But I'm saying he doesn't really have. Does he have like the personality to where he would?

The video picks up after the cut with her answer to the last question: "No, he's very um... He's very. He always does the right thing, like in the body cam he's - he cooperates with the police, and he - he's is a wonderful uncle. He's always been there when I need him. He's, I mean, he's been there every time Gabby needed him."

His sister heard he was home, and assumed he had flown and left Gabby with the van. So the allusion to thinking he flew was about how she thought he got to Florida when he returned home after Gabby went missing. It isn't about the trip from Utah to "clean out the shed."

Interesting that even his sister wasn't told that he drove home.
IMO she may have intended to say …it’s what he does, run away. Also I read in the very beginning of search, on line, news that BL’s trip home to Florida in August was preplanned before their trip began in July. It’s was also reported that their trip
from NY began after her brothers graduation. IMO

Yes I see what you mean, in the last screenshot. There's some blanching in the red patch so quite possibly finger marks.

I wonder how long marks can stay visible.
My mom used to pop me on the thigh. It would whelp up in the shape of her hand and take several minutes to go away.
I remember rubbing my fingers over the raised areas, so maybe 20 min?
I was a very wild child, not claiming I didn't deserve to get popped! Lol

I didn't say drink straight rainwater. You use water vine a still or many other survival water filter methods.
I think we’ve seen in video he has a Sawyer Mini filtration device. It’s the same one I take when I go hiking. He may also have the drops (I take those as backup). If he has any experience tent camping or multi-day hiking, he’ll have already owned a way to make river or stream water potable.

I think that is the point, not many people believe BL has that knowledge and instead would have to rely on what is in his backpack.

Thing is, this isn't some rocket science that one would need "years of training" as some here would like us to believe. He literally could have had newbie camping knowledge and then added 10 days of studying at the beginning of this month that would have given him ample information to survive. So whether he had it before (I think he did - likely from GP and their time outdoors if nothing else, she seems to have had a lifetime of the outdoors) or he got it in 10 days before going on the run the result is the same - he CAN survive.

There's a man that decided to "chuck it all" one day and walked into the woods with NO experience at all and he managed to survive in the wildnerness for 27 years. People are way under estimating the will to survive IMO.

When they served the search warrant on the house, the FBI went in it according to Brian E. No idea if anyone else has but at least they have.

Right. He has known since 8/30 (at the latest) that he killed Gabby and he was going to have to deal with it in one way or another. If he decided then to plan to run and hide once anyone was alerted, he could have been spending all that time researching what he'd need and where to go. If you have basic supplies, besides it being boring, you don't have to do much.

The backpack had hip straps. That is a large backpack.
Even day packs have hip straps. Mine is 22 liters, and the hip strap is substantial.
If BL has an 85 liter pack, everyone will notice.
IMO he's at a cabin or someone's shed.

IMO - Yes, the families first trip was plenty of time to go there and drop off him or supplies. Can't say for certain he ever came back after, unless there is proof he was home after the camping trip?
How long are videos saved from traffic cameras, highway cameras etc? Would there be video evidence of where they went? Would there be pings from cell towers for any of the cell phones either parents or BL? I hope there are more investigations going on that we are not aware of and not just the search in the reserve.

But BL is right handed if they were fighting face 2 face he would grab her left arm. And marks would be on the left arm.
If they were face to face. He was running after her and slapping her according to the first 911 caller. He does not have to be face to face to slap her. He would grab here by whichever arm he could grab first.

Hoping this clears things up a bit. This is exactly what Gabby's dad said to Dr. Phil

Gabby's dad

"And then we started....we couldn't, we tried on the 10th to do.....they said that the missing person.....We finally got it on the 11th."

I think we can infer from this that they tried to file a missing persons report on the 10th but for whatever reason, couldn't be filed until the 11th.
Yes, apparently police wouldn't file a missing persons report initially, so maybe he asked for a welfare check. Then when police discovered she wasn't there he was able to file the report. Imo

Camper was in the driveway, I am sure it could easily sleep 3

It's a nine hour drive from his home to the very southern end of the Appalachian Trail (northern Georgia). Someone would have had to driven him there, and then back (presuming it was family). They'd be on camera somewhere I think.
There are trails in FL that connect to the beginning of the AT at Springer mountain. They’re not considered part of the AT, but many southbound hikers doing a through-hike continue down into FL.

  • #977
Given the "family camping trip", who knows? If he's in the wild at all it's somewhere more temperate like that and not that Florida swamp, IMO.
Maybe their 3 day trip was to northern GA at the Ap trail head (or tail) If no one has seen him since that trip, they could have easily made the trip to GA and back. But it seems like LE would know this possibility. jmo

IMO he's at a cabin or someone's shed.
I have only had a large metal framed pack with hip and chest straps, but that was some time ago.

dang its a little chilly tonight n Florida, i was just out in the fields digging up some cotton rose plants and of course in shorts and a tank top and had to come back inside so if BL is in that reserve tonight with all that water, oh well!!

It's getting into the 30s at night along the northern Appalachian Trail so he's going to be really cold really soon if he makes it north. Foliage is already turning.
I live on the Canadian border, the northernmost place in the continental US and it hasn't been getting into the 30s here yet.
