A Sunday evening news release from Dave Joly, a spokesman with Federal Bureau of Investigation's Denver offices, said officials arrested a man in Belgrade in connection with the case.

Since I haven't yet read the last dozen pages, this may have all ready been noted, but...IF this man is the person guilty of this crime, it would seem the blog on the photography website with his name might be very helpful to authorities in pinning down his possible involvement in some other unsolved crimes against children in national park areas (such as the one mentioned on the Facebook page). The blog tab contains a running journal with trip dates and places noted along with the multitudes of photos taken.

I can't link to the Facebook post, but on the Facebook page of Jesse Speer, there is a posting from June 5th, 2012 of a little boy, kneeling over a couple of dozen spilled green apples. It is a beautiful picture, and one any photographer would be proud of. I don't understand the picture, however, because it is credited to two Romanian photographers and Jesse Speer. How on Earth does two photographers from Romania end up working with a wildlife/landscape artist from Colorado/Wyoming to claim a picture of a child with apples??? The Romanian guys also take great pictures of wildlife, but how did they collaborate with JS on this picture? Why is his name associated with it? I don't see any other pictures of children on the public pages of JS. It is obvious where my mind is going with this - children, foreign countries, photography.... Then, you layer on top of that, a comment that was added from a German individual on October 2, 2012 on JS's Google+ website that includes this quote by Goethe:

This posting was made 3 days before Jessica went missing, and it was posted to the 4/19/12 posting on JS's FB page of the "lightening" photo (which is a REALLY good photo) that JS had made, and named "Electric". Prior to the German guys post of the Goethe quote, the last comment on JS's Facebook about the lightening photo had been an innocent comment on 5/11/2012. Where am I going with this??? I find it odd that JS posted a beautiful nature picture of lightening that was discussed and celebrated up until 5/11/2012. Then, on 10/2/2012, a German individual posted the Goethe comment that seemed completely unrelated to the lightening picture. Layer that on top of a photo with individuals from Romania, and you have a situation that is not explained by the simple, nature-loving life of a Colorado/Wyoming wild-life photographer. Why all of the international connections?? I also searched the German guy on youtube, and he has no uploaded videos (he only joined youtube on 9/26/2012). All of his "liked" videos are related to , or some sort of online payment system. Hmmm......

I think the FBI is days ahead of us here. They get involved with missing children cases and I'm sure they are checking what connections he has in CO as well as Montana and more. He's gone under the radar so far it appears until now. The little girl naked pictures worries me about what he might have on his camera or computer plus the possibility he has a connection to child online. Just thinking out loud. I don't think he just started this molesting young girls.

Also, any abductions across a state line would also have the FBI on it. They are investigating others & hopefully Jessica's too.

If he took any of the photos of the little girls that the victim said were in his car, where and when was he able to do it in the middle of traveling all over in the wilderness by himself? The reason I think it's valuable is for safety and protection training. This girl may have done something or said something that could be repeated if another girl is abducted. Obviously he let her go and LE doesn't want us to know why. Frankly, I'd like to know that, not for "nosiness" but just in case I or my kids ever need the "tip". I can understand them wanting to keep it secret until they catch the guy, or maybe even until after he's prosecuted, since he's the only one who knew this information (besides the hunters). But hopefully we'll someday be told.....

Someone mentioned Lindsay Baum ... she disappeared around the same time he was getting divorced. I don't think I'm allowed to say how I figured that out, though.

I thought of Lindsey too. In his photo blog, there are pictures of the Palouse area. I wonder how far into WA he actually traveled.

I remember we looked at a white truck, that looked like it had a cage or kennel in the back. IIRC, it was never identified. I wonder how long he has had the vehicle he is driving now?

ETA- The vehicle was a white Honda Ridgeline.

I looked at that post. From the interview that is linked, it looks like one of the photographers/ editors from FOTO4all.ro was a fan of JS. And if you click on the photo, you will see it is the cover of the magazine -- I think the other two names are the other photographers featured in that issue. The magazine publishes photos from international photographers... I don't think it's very unusual for photographers to have international connections like this. JS has photos in several international publications, and his book was published in Iceland, ftr.

I notice this quote from his interview though:

Interesting that they ruled out the Cody suspect for the JR case. I noticed in searches that the Cody suspect booked yesterday has an older male relative in Arvada.

Yeah, that's what I thought I said. Let me try again.

If he was arrested in Belgrade, as the FBI release said, he might have been heading to the airport (Gallatin Field) which is right outside of Belgrade, on the road to Bozeman.

The post I was replying to listed an address in Bozeman for JPS. I think the Bozeman address might be his studio because the local article I linked to says JPS lives in Manhattan, which is about 8 miles down the road from Belgrade and 15 or so from Bozeman.

Is that clearer? Or are my typing fingers trying to tell me it's time for bed?

I respect the FBI statement that JPS is not a suspect in the Colorado murder of Jessica. It is still a big coincidence that these kidnappings had several similarities and happened so close together in time.

It seems to me that a photographer who collects child , kidnaps and rapes little girls is all but guaranteed to sell some of his sick pictures to other perverts. Those who engage in the trade of child might have a type of comradeship which could lend itself to one-upsmanship. What if JPS has a pervert buddy who shares his disgusting hobbies? What if JPS and his buddy had a competition to see who could stalk, abduct, assault and photograph a little girl first, or which one did it "better"? Maybe they even did some brainstorming together before going on their separate hunts.

JPS has a history in the same area of Colorado that Jessica was abducted from. Wouldn't it be very likely that JPS still has business or personal connections in Colorado? I wonder if JPS has an idea who might have killed Jessica?

I am not implying that JPS killed Jessica, the timelines over-lap,it makes no sense. I'm just saying that I think it's quite possible that these two perverts know each other and have some type of -related connection. It is a big business with plenty of money to be made!

I'm telling you, I think that there is a social aspect to this perverted lifestyle and they probably share ideas and even compete. Too much coincidence going on for me!
