I haven't been following this thread, but I've been following the Jessica Ridgeway thread and heard about the arrest. Has anyone noticed this article?

It says he's from Manhattan? Would that be the same fella everyone's been thinking (who's from the Wyoming/Montana area)? Cause I did find a man by the same name from NY...he has strawberry blond hair too. And THAT may not be him either, just wanted to point out the Manhattan thing... :waitasec:

Manhattan is a small town in Gallatin County MT, near Bozeman and Belgrade.

Can anyone guess why LE will not release HOW the girl from WY got away? I would think that would be valuable information for the public to know how someone was successful to get away from her abductor.

I thought I read where the hunter said in a story after Le said they did not want that info out-that he did let her go-I am trying to find the link..its here somewhere-lol

Manhattan is a small, very small, town near Bozeman. There is a great restaraunt there.

Because LE is very careful about revealing certain evidence if they and prosecutors need to build a case around the suspect. It will all be revealed eventually.

I read where the FBI wanted that kept secret because it was one of the few things that only the abductor knows other than the girl (and the hunters, and the hunters' kids, and the mother). I really don't see the point in keeping it a secret.

Thanks. I will look too but if you find the link to that, please post it. I have a hard time believing that the guy would just let her go. BUT - I also am wondering if perhaps this was just his first time. Perhaps he was a "rapist" and not a "murderer". Perhaps he was an opportunist, and saw one with her?? He may have felt that she was young and wouldn't remember him.

Yes they did say that in an article that was posted in the Cody Enterprise. However, he was home from his trip so he most likely unpacked. My guess is that the FBI is ransacking his house right now and walking out the front door with his laptop.

I assume he is using high end digital cameras, most digital cameras have GeoTagging built in. All of the images in his camera may be geotagged, and if so LE can use that forensic evidence to track his movements. LE can establish dates and times of his whereabouts and correlate that with known criminal activity (abductions, rapes, murders) in those areas.

LE is going to have to reconstruct the last 10 years of his landscape photography career as he has traveled extensively throughout the multi-state region for a decade. Then they will have to tie in this vast collection of child he has, and try to connect those specific images to known victims in those areas. They have their work cut out for them with this suspect.

While I am on the subject, I think its (highly) likely he supplemented his income as a landscape photographer selling his 'special' images of his child victims to the underground pedophilia network.

Manhattan, Montana I think is what the article means. Kind of misleading, but it was printed in a MT newspaper.

Well, I look at the 2 million dollar bond. It seems very high to me. And remember, the little girl said there were lots of pictures of naked little girls in his vehicle.

His pic from Oct 10th is of Grand Teton. I would suppose he drove through Teton National Park and then up through Yellowstone and went out the east entrance into Cody.

In that photo's properties on G+, it is recorded as "2011_1008_125115.jpg".

His other photos are named in a similar date-coded fashion, suggesting this photo was taken on 8th October 2011.

As such, I don't believe there is any reason to suggest he was necessarily near Teton National Park in recent times.

The carrier was found near where KG was found. I think he took it off before he let her go and left it behind. I believe even before they said they found the carrier, that it may no longer be on the vehicle. I think KG was able to tell them that.

Some of the early reports for BOLO included a red and black backpack strapped to the roof along with waterbottles. This went out on our Interstate signs. There was not any mention of a car top carrier until the FBI released the surveillance photos.

I hadn't really given it a lot of thought, but....

• It may be something quite unique (see my post about him potentially trying to put her in the top box, which is pure speculation) and a great piece of information to hold back to weed out the false confessions
  
• She may have done something to humiliate him, therefore riling him further and setting him off looking for another victim.
  
• It may have happened while something humiliating was happening to her - her name was out there as an Amber Alert and although it has been removed now, it could save her some shame or embarrassment. Lets face it, this poor kiddie has suffered enough trauma to last her a lifetime.
  
• It may have been something too graphic to describe to the general public

That is all pure guesswork - I really have no idea
