GUILTY WY - Jesse Speer for kidnap, rape of 10yo girl, Cody, 8 Oct 2012

One of his 'photography club' pal's lives in .... you guessed it... Westminster CO.

Hopefully the FBI takes a closer look at his close associates, especially this little band of traveling photographers he spends his 'vacation time' with.
Heads up...my posts were deleted about him last night....we're not allowed to discuss him here. It has been reported to WPD though :)

Please, let's not connect every photographer who is friends with him to this crime. :please:

I will say again, I was well aware of his work and my brother was as well. My brother was "friends" with him on facebook.

We are leaving in a couple of days to travel to another state. Not to abduct a child, to attend a funeral.
We will stop frequently and take pictures on the route as well. We always do when traveling.

My brother has traveled to a few different states and taken pictures.
This case does not mean that everyone who does that is a rapist or killer. :waitasec:

You could easily find my brother among this suspects contacts and try to connect him to some unsolved case. :what:

Just because the suspect is a photographer does not mean every friend of his is involved in some ring with him.

Some of us simply enjoy photography, or do it as a career because there is a love of capturing memories.
Some just have the misfortune of liking the photography of a man suspected of a horrific crime. :twocents:

I don't think people are saying his contacts are involved-just that he knows people in the area the crime occurred! JMO

When I was growing up in the sixties and early seventies, a Boy Scout I knew was stabbed in his tent at a camporee (turned out by a really random serial killer whose victims included an older woman and a small girl) and a couple of hitch-hikers murdered and ate a guy who gave them a ride. Not to mention several rather nasty spousal murders.

And this was in the Gallatin Valley, Montana, which was about as remote, pure, and pristine a place as you could find.

Violence has actually declined, considerably, over the past half century. It drives me batty when people talk about how terrible things are "these days".

There is a really great book about this phenomenon-"The Better Angels of our Nature" by Steven Pinker. I highly recommend!

Also, If there are any connections I don't think LE wants it posted on social media sites, forums etc...
They ask that you contact them at the tip line instead of posting publicly.

I happen to agree with MsFacetious. Once somebody puts something on the net, its there forever unless the government has it deleted. Even posts deted on forums can be found with the right know-how. I'm not for linking or mentioning innocent parties that only happen to be an acquaintance of this guy. Seems alot of his photog friends are professionals and do amazing work. Jesse's work is noteworthy, I've been viewing it for about an hour now. He's taken some pretty amazing shots. I despise saying that knowing what's happened to this little girl but he really did do good work with his pictures.

As far as him being "suspected", le got his license plate off of surveillance footage. Afaik, he's a done deal with the WY case. Wonder if he could be linked to any others...

And my Aunt's personality didn't change either.
It depends on where the tumor is located.

My cousin started acting weird about a year ago... she had endless patience, to the point it's ridiculous.
She got impatient when kids weren't really doing anything... it was obvious something was seriously wrong.
A couple months later she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She still has very little patience and it is so weird to see her so different.

This suspect may not have a brain tumor.
But since he quit talking to his ex a few months ago and changed a lot... it's an interesting thought.
The man who killed my cousin's was only diagnosed because MY family defended him and said something had to be wrong.

I had a friend that committed suicide a few years ago. He had become pretty depressed in the previous months and had been put on medication for being bipolar. In his autopsy, a brain tumor was found at the top of his brain. It was determined that this tumor could have been responsible for the changes in his personality. Rather than getting thrown on drugs, he should have had an MRI.

This is what people are asking themselves-he knew someone in Westmister-did he visit this person in the time when the crime occured-I have not seen anyone say here that all photographers are connected-just JS

IF he did it then the "few months ago" when he stopped talking to his ex... could have been the turning point and could include Lizzy and Lyric.

A sudden change in behavior is also still a red flag for a brain tumor.
The guy who killed my cousins was a trusted babysitter, family friend, in wedding parties... etc. No history of violence at all.

One day he killed them both. The brain tumor in his frontal lobe killed him before his sentence could.

Brain tumors can grow really fast.. my Aunt died less than 4 months after diagnosis... WITH radiation and chemo.

My cousin died of a brain tumor 2 yrs ago. He was diagnosed in Dec and died in March. His personality never changed..but he did stagger when he walked etc. My father had a brain tumor as a child but it was taken out and no real ill effects except epilepsy later. I don't believe this man has a brain tumor..I think he is a sick Psycho child molesting perv...that needs to be taken out.

It all depends on the exact location in the brain where the tumor is located for it to become a determining factor in somebody's behavioral pattern changes. The brain has different regions & certain parts play no part in behavior at all.

I know, I agree with you. I was only agreeing with what MsFacetious said bc so many times common sense gets lost in the frenzy of pulling new info trying to bring a perp(s) to justice that sometimes people just quick post whatever they find. Only wanted to note to be careful so as innocent parties aren't brought into this.

For every sick predator put there, there is a family, acquaintances, jobs, etc. Every single time people end up feeling sick that they ever thought the perp was a good person, then they undoubtedly go through those emotions & question why they never suspected anything. So was only mentioning this to make note bc I wouldn't want to add to somebody's already painful experience. Sucks.

:blowkiss: Again, I agree with you, think MsFacetious was only noting it before somebody slipped & started listing all his friends & such.

One of the comments on his fb page, before it was removed, was from someone noting that a family friend had been kidnapped and released in the Teton area, a place he frequented. http://www.tetonvalleynews.net/news...cle_b349b3d2-db22-11e1-aa7f-001a4bcf887a.html

I can't stop wondering if maybe there are some photographs of her in his car ... this would fit an MO of taking someone, violating them but not killing them, leaving in a remote area. The fact that she was possibly drugged would enable him to take photos. I feel so creepy for saying that.

Maybe we will get his mug at this PC?

That Teton Valley news link Pinto put up looks VERY interesting.
Maybe he just takes photos.

Cody is in Wyoming. Cody is where the crime was committed.

He drove from there to Bozeman/Manhattan(where he lives)/Belgrade area in Montana via Yellowstone Park, which is the most direct way when roads are open in the park.

They arrested him in Belgrade and took him to the Gallatin County Detention Facility (aka county jail), which is in Bozeman MT.

Now they have to go through extradition procedures, which is the fancy name for the paperwork and hoops that have to be gone to if you want to move an accused person from one state to face charges in another. Then he'll be back in Cody, Wyoming to face charges.

eta: here's a quick map of his route.https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...oq=Belgrade&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=8&via=1&t=m&z=8

Does anyone think he was ready to be caught....???? He made many mistakes .....just saying

I forgot to add .. .this was also during a time period that he was incommunicado on social media. I think 2 weeks after he left? Or 2 weeks before he returned, can't remember, now page is down.

I'd read that LE said they'd ruled out a connection, though, in a couple recent news articles about the JR case; here's one from about an hour ago:

"Authorities involved in the manhunt for 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway's killer say the two cases are not connected."

Read more: Suspect in Cody, Wyo. child abduction arrested, has ties to Colorado - The Denver Post http://www.denverpost.com/breakingn...ion-arrested-montana?source=rss#ixzz29LKSzGGn

Authorities may have something definite that shows the cases are not connected but the differing MO cannot be a deciding factor, IMO. Nor can the fact that one was let go and the other murdered. It is not true that perps never let a victim go and kill others. Duncan did it.

So far I really see nothing that ties the two cases but I hope LE has positive proof before they rule this guy out on other crimes rather than just something a profiler says.
