All these hearings is why trials take so long to get started. I hate defense attorneys and their delay tactics.

In this case I hope it delays for years....
No hurry...

I only care about the Krim family..
Let this "B" rot....

The nanny accused of butchering the two angels in her care insisted Wednesday that she played no part in the murders.

“I didn’t do that,” Yoselyn Ortega told the Daily News in an exclusive jailhouse interview on Rikers Island. “Someone else did.”

She is a liar, she said very early on she was angry with the parents for not giving her a raise, and just offering her additional hours of work. She may also say she never said that. LIAR.

The accused killer nanny spoke in a soft and eerie whisper as she denied any part in the deaths of 2-year-old Leo Krim and his 6-year-old sister, Lucia.

“Those are all lies,” Ortega said, when asked about the charges that could send her to prison for life.

...

And when a Daily News reporter asked her if she loved the slain kids, her eyes narrowed behind her round, black-rimmed glasses.

“My lawyer told me not to talk,” she said and got up abruptly. “I’m not supposed to say anything.”

...

During the chat, Ortega displayed no surprise when told that Marina Krim was having another baby.

“Yes, I knew about that,” she said. “She’s expecting in October.”

Asked if having another child would bring the Krim family some solace, Ortega nodded slowly and said deliberately, “Yes.”

How did SHE know it was October? :waitasec:
All they said was "in the fall."

October means this baby boy is due around the one year anniversary of the murders.
I wonder if she is angry that the parents won't simply spend that day mourning... but may also have something to celebrate?

Don't know ... thinking out loud .. Maybe Krim(s) (privately) told someone the more precise expectation time frame ... and that someone later on told YO (during phone call, while visiting YO etc).

Other than that .. I got no clue ... - other than fall consists of 3 months (September, October, November) .. - so maybe YO took a guess.....

Another wild possibility: Any media source found out (re: October) .. and while interviewing YO, questioning YO etc .. let the word "October" out, while letting YO know / asking YO about Krims' pregnancy.

No clue, however.....

I think she is suppose to be in court tomorrow, June 24.

  • #849
So... if someone else did it, how does she explain the self-inflicted stab wounds? She coincidentally tried to kill herself at the same time as the murders?

  • #850
she can say she didn't do it til she's blue in the face but we all know that's not true.

gotta wonder-- is she in denial? in a delusion? a break with reality? or knowingly attempting to set up an insanity plea? :(

This is new. Marina was home, blogging, at least part of that day. How can this be true? Certainly Marina would have noticed this type of behavior and never left her babies with her!

"She also revealed apparent psychotic behavior exhibited by Ortega on the morning of the murder, when she invited herself into the apartment of a neighbor.
The neighbor wasn't home but her 19-year-old niece was "extremely uncomfortable" by the presence of Ortega, who was pacing back and forth after making breakfast.
When the girl went to her room to hide, Ortega knocked and said, "Please come out. I can't be alone. I'm afraid," Rosenbaum said.

‘Killer Nanny’ jailhouse interview with Daily News reporter could undermine insanity defense

A Manhattan prosecutor suggested Tuesday that suspect Yoselyn Ortega revealed a firm grasp of her legal situation by cutting short an exclusive jailhouse interview with a News reporter.

She looks (somewhat) better on the picture below (from yesterday's hearing by the looks of it) ... a bit more attractive than on the previous jail house pics... LOL

Killer Nanny Yoselyn Ortega heard voices telling her to kill people: Doctor

Dr. Karen Rosenbaum, a forensic psychiatrist, interviewed Ortega at New-York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell Medical Center not long after the sickening slays of little Lucia and Leo Krim, ages 6 and 2, in their family's upper West Side apartment on Oct. 25.

Yoselyn Ortega appears in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, June 24, 2013.

Killer nanny Yoselyn Ortega heard voices telling her to kill people before viciously stabbing to death two small children, according to a doctor who testified Monday that Ortega's not mentally fit for trial.

Dr. Karen Rosenbaum, a forensic psychiatrist, began interviewing Ortega at New-York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell Medical Center three weeks after the sickening slays on Oct. 25 of the two angels entrusted in her care.

Ortega, who slit her own throat after stabbing the children, was delirious and depressed as she recovered from her self-inflected wounds, Rosenbaum said.

"When I asked if she wanted to live or die, she began to sob and said, 'I don't know,'" Rosenbaum, a doctor for Ortega's defense team, said of her November meetings with Ortega at the hospital.

"She also had been hearing voices, saying we're going to kill a lot of people. Multiple voices -- male and female -- addressing her, who she didn't recognize."

Ortega was put on anti-psychotic medication around the time of Rosenbaum's interviews.

This is all very convenient, isn't it? And she is crying...not about the children she killed...but her own situation...the handcuffs, etc.

Marina Krim was a stay at home Mom. I find it truly BEYOND BELIEF that she could have been in Ortega's company, day after day, and not noticed some mental break. Remember they argued over Ortega's job performance. Marina was WATCHING her.

This was a rage killing, feuled by jealousy. Ortega deserves the worst thejustice sysyem can give her. She is VILE.

"But there was no way for Marina and Kevin Krim to know that Ortega had begun hearing voices—and, in her family’s words, “started acting different”—back when she was 16 and still working at her father’s grocery store in the Dominican Republic.

Or that Ortega had suffered some kind of mental crisis around 2008, becoming so uncommunicative and withdrawn that her family sought to exorcise whatever was tormenting her by playing music and opening the window.

Or that she had taken a turn for the worse after bringing her 17-year-old son to New York in mid-2012, forbidding him to play baseball or listen to music and commanding him to hide under the bed with her whenever they heard a dog barking.

Or that right up to the time of the killings, she had continued hearing voices, male and female, speaking in Spanish but still unintelligible to her save for when they urged her to hurt others.

Or that she had also been having visual hallucinations of people of all colors and all sizes, “including giants,” fighting.

Or that she had felt something touch her that she thought to be the devil.

Or that three days before the killings her sister was awakened before dawn by the sound Ortega wildly throwing pots and pans around the kitchen. The sister came in as Ortega was banging her head against the wall. The sister stayed up with her from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., but Ortega said afterward that she did not remember anything of the incident. A psychiatrist would later testify at the fitness hearing that it was most likely a “dissociative episode.”

Or that the morning of the killings Ortega knocked on a neighbor’s door and asked if she could come in and make breakfast. The neighbor was off visiting somebody at the hospital, but a niece was there and let Ortega in. The niece became unnerved and retreated to her room as Ortega made bananas and cheese and began to pace between the living room and the kitchen. Ortega then went to the niece’s room and knocked on the door, saying, “Please come out. I can’t be alone. I’m afraid.”

The Krims knew nothing of all this, and Ortega seemed outwardly fit as she arrived at their apartment later that day. Ortega would later say she remembered making breakfast and going to work, but recalled nothing else other than she was supposed to take 6-year-old Lucia “Lulu” Krim to ballet that day."

Either tbis is all a crock...or the entire Ortega family has blood on its hands.

Remember Ortega's teenage son saying Mommy couldnot have done this? REALLY? If sheis hiding you under the bed every time a dog barks? And the SIster reccomended her to Marina Krim for the job...knowing she hadhad previous episodes of mental illness? And the family met the Krims and their babies in the DR and ALLOWED their pyschotic daughter to be placed ina position of CARE for these children?

Really? What does this say aboutthis entire family...and their crocodile tears for the murdered babies? They share moral responsibility at the least.

If this is true. Or maybe this is just part of Saving Baby Sister. Note the article says she does crossword puzzles in the hospital.
