GUILTY Yoselyn Ortega charged with 2 counts ea-1st and 2nd Degree Murder of Krim Children

  • #901
Thank you for your post. I think for the most part it is SPOT ON... She was a monster with Mental Illness in my book too....but I marked in red what I found not to be correct. I actually told all that to the reporters / detectives. I had seen her in the elevator and the lobby enough times, never friendly never outgoing, never warm, never, sweet. like some of the nannys in the building.
I also read from some of the neighbors in her own building that she acted off balance so this assessment above saying friendly and social is way way off the mark in my opinion.
Maybe she was more smily around people of her coulture, but she was never a friendly and outgoing in my book, no way. NOP!

There is no doubt that she was seen as friendly by Dominicans. She did not want to be seen as unfriendly. She likes being around people. Deep down, Yoselyn Ortega is deeply angry and repressed. Ortega is very similar to Seung-Hui Cho, Adam Lanza, Gertrude Baniszewski, or Lori Drew. They are consumed by anger and think the world did something wrong to them. Like Ortega, they harbor grudges for a very long time as they do not snap. They feel victimized and want to lash out. This on top of their envious nature. All that repression of anger explodes. Cho, Lanza, Drew, and Baniszewski do not look friendly and outgoing. They look very angry. Ortega is typical of an injustice collector. The most likely criminal who is an injustice collector is mass murderers.

Baniszewski (Sylvia Likens) and Drew (Megan Meier) chose to torture a child, in Drew's case psychological over Internet. They got other people involved to do their dirty work. Both Baniszewski and Drew were upset over their daughter being slighted. I think the real motive is beyond what I read and hear. Baniszewski is an angry religious nutcase ready to lash out. Drew was a busybody who feared rejection and abandonment. It just so happens they the camel hump broke when they encountered their victims. Baniszewski was envious that Likens was good looking and Likens family was better off than her. Drew was upset that Tina Meier sold her the house in the neighborhood that rejected her. The Meiers too were well off compared to Drews. Both targeted children because they were easy and it would make the parents really grief stricken. They are all driven by envy. That can also be said of Cho and Lanza.

Murderous Envy

When I see photos of her, even smiling, you sense she is cold and angry. Her eyes look dead and bulging, sanpaku eyes. There are demons inside of her. Her demeanor reminds me of Cho, Lanza, Baniszewski, or Drew. Almost every evil figure I have seen have really strange eyes. They look cold and dead mixed with rage.

The sad truth is we truly do not know people. Good example of that is Jerry Sandusky. He was seen as friendly and well liked by Penn State fans. As it turned out he was a serial child molester.

I also have a profile on Antoinette Davis and will post it soon.

‘Killer Nanny’ incurred brain damage when she slit throat; still fit to stand trial: Doc

The determination was revealed at ongoing competency hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court over Yoselyn Ortega's ability to understand court proceedings and communicate with her attorney.

By Shayna Jacobs / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Thursday, August 8, 2013, 4:36 PM

Nanny Yoselyn Ortega incurred some brain damage when she sliced her own throat after allegedly killing two of her charges — but it would not impact her ability to stand trial, a doctor who examined her testified Thursday.

The determination, made by court Dr. Ankur Saraiya, was revealed at ongoing competency hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court over Ortega's ability to understand court proceedings and communicate with her attorney.

"My own assessment was it was not severe enough to interfere with her fitness," Saraiya said of the medical reports produced after prosecutors say she slit her own throat after stabbing two small children to death.

Prosecutor Stuart Silberg — who is defending the official court finding that Ortega is mentally fit — asked his witness if he thinks Ortega "has cognitive impairment."

"She also had been hearing voices, saying we're going to kill a lot of people. Multiple voices -- male and female -- addressing her, who she didn't recognize," defense witness Dr. Karen Rosenbaum said when she took the stand on June 24.

But in testimony four days later, Dr. Myles Schneider countered that Ortega could have been faking psychotic symptoms to help support her defense.

The competency hearing, which began in late June before Justice Gregory Carro, is expected to resume Monday.

'Killer' Nanny Yoselyn Ortega’s Phone Calls to Her Son Could Be Held Against Her

by Kiri Blakeley

... she "heard voices" taking about killing people on the day she allegedly stabbed little Lucia and Leo Krim to death in their own bathtub.

Yet jailhouse phone calls reportedly catch her sounding lucid and chatty with relatives. Still, it's hard to fathom that a woman would suddenly stab to death her two young charges -- little children who did nothing to do her and with whom she'd always had a good relationship -- without being mentally deranged.

Reportedly, Ortega has been having long conversations with her family from the jailhouse phone -- and, of course, those are recorded. They can also be used against you.

In the calls, Ortega shows that she's concerned about the money the calls cost. She also asks her son about mundane things such as going to Motor Vehicles, and about some home renovations, asking, "Did they already put [in] the tiles?" When her 17-year-old son says they're going to paint first, then put in the tiles, she responds: "Yes, because then the tiles get dirty while painting."

On the other hand, talking about tiles when you're in jail for murdering two little kids is pretty cray.

Whether Ortega heard voices or not, my guess is we will never know the true reason behind why she allegedly did what she did.

Jailhouse chats at issue in case of allegedly murderous Manhattan nanny

A lawyer for accused nanny Yoselyn Ortega is arguing that the defendant, who told doctors she heard voices telling her to kill people, is mentally unfit to stand trial

By Shayna Jacobs / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Monday, August 12, 2013, 4:51 PM

In the recordings, Yoselyn Ortega spoke to her son, sister and other relatives about day-to-day life and showed she was competent enough to consider the cost of the phone calls.

The defendant, whose attorney says the ex-nanny is too nuts to face trial, even exhibited a little Bob Villa knowhow, evaluating an aspect of her family’s home-improvement project.

“Are you all going to motor vehicles tomorrow?” she asked her son, Jesus, during a June 3 call, referring to the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

When the 17-year-old answered “yes,” the accused killer expressed concern that the family would be leaving the apartment at a time when workers were scheduled to come by to do renovations on the place.

“Did they already put [in] the tiles?” she said in Spanish, having remembered details of the project.

“They painted, and fixed the ceiling. It’s really nice. The tiles [are] what’s missing,” her son told her. “Because it makes sense to paint first and then place the tiles.”

“Yes, because then the tiles get dirty while painting,” Ortega replied, clearly not fooled by the process.

During the calls Ortega sounded coherent and engaging, not confused or disoriented. She also reminded her loved ones repeatedly that her calls from Rikers Island cost money, and that they should answer promptly and be available when she calls.

And she dotes on her son, who is planning for college.

“I love you, baby, you are my life,” she told Jesus during a call on June 24.
... Monday’s hearing was part of a challenge brought by Ortega’s lawyer, Valerie Van Leer-Greenberg, to fight the official finding by court doctors that Ortega is mentally fit, understands the charges levied against her and can communicate sufficiently with her counselor.

Van Leer-Greenberg has argued that Ortega is too mentally unstable and delusional to understand the charges or to properly assist in her own defense.

Ortega told doctors who treated her after the killings that she didn’t remember attacking the children and that she heard voices telling her to kill people.

After the audio evidence was played at the hearing Monday, defense witness Dr. Karen Rosenbaum testified that Ortega’s seemingly lucid thought process during the calls was not proof she is mentally fit.

“It has nothing to do with an evaluation of competency,” Rosenbaum said. “Somebody can function in a day-to-day sense on some level but still not be competent to stand trial because of the specific nature of what [the law] demands.”

“She de-compensates under stress,” Rosenbaum said on cross-examination.

Prosecutor Stuart Silberg, who was defending the official court finding that Ortega is mentally fit, grilled Rosenbaum Monday, as he did when she testified previously.

'Killer nanny' Yoselyn Ortega to stand trial, judge rejects claims that 'the defendant is tantamount to a parakeet'

Accused “killer nanny” Yoselyn Ortega is fit to stand trial for murdering two young children in their Manhattan apartment, a judge ruled today in rejecting defense claims that she’s mentally no more than a “parakeet.”

Justice Gregory Carro issued his ruling after eight days of conflicting testimony by psychiatric experts spread over three weeks.

“There is clear and convincing evidence that this defendant is fit to stand trial,” he said.

I was invited to the benifit but could not go for many reasons.
My friend did go and sent me some photos, she said it was inspirational
and the benifit was beutifully done.
Parents seem to be doing OK and the L & L Foundation keeps Lulu and Leo's
name alive, while doing good for other children.

She was ordered to return to court on Dec. 12 for another pretrial conference.

Since the slayings, Ortega has maintained that she was not involved, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

court-yoselyn-ortega-nanny.jpg

( Jefferson Siegel/New York Daily News ) / When asked about the charges, Ortega asserted that 'Those are all lies.'

In her only public interview, she told the Daily News in June that she had nothing to do with the unthinkable slayings of the innocent children she claimed to love.
