i always wonder what these folks do with all their days and hours.....
Do they recognize anything that resembles "work".

If you read some of the blog posted at #44, and if that is representative (?), they have some arduous and time consuming thought patterns that make pretty simple things take forever and they are routinely short of money. It reminds me just a bit of obsessive/compulsive disorder but it is not actually that. In the instance of the blog, it has a lot to do with relative thoughts and feelings and perceptions of others. It is exhausting.i always wonder what these folks do with all their days and hours.....

We hear from lawyer Jerold Friedman who represented the Ziz group of four who protested rationalist organizations CFAR and MIR back in 2019.
Friedman said that the group was actually protesting over their belief that people at the event were engaged in pedophilia. He said he never saw any evidence to back up those claims. He said his clients claimed to have evidence to support their beliefs but the case was dismissed before it reached the point where such evidence would be shared.
Friedman said he was hired by the group because, like them, he is vegan and 'they wanted someone who shared their values.' From what he saw, this was a group of 'passionate,' 'non-violent' young people.
For Friedman, the trail of death and destruction left in the wake of the cult doesn't marry with 'the four kids' who were 'non-violent' and 'cared about the state of the world' back in 2019.
'We have in society this junction,' he said. 'So we have this high ideal then sometimes we will do the opposite.' He offered an analogy. 'How many people profess to love animals but what do they eat?' he said. 'I see that same pattern - you can have people who are very passionate but they have an exception for something else. That's the way our society is.'

Wow, that's a lot to process and great research! Thank you!I have been doing quite a bit of research on the Zizians and I think I understand them better now!
To begin we must understand a thought experiment called ‘Roko’s Basilisk’ that is based on decision theory. The thought experiment/theory basically states that if an extremely capable and powerful AI system were created, there is a high chance that the system would begin to target/kill those who were anti-AI, or even just not involved in furthering AI. Basically, an AI that was all powerful would have incentive to torture anyone who didn’t work to bring that AI into existence. The Zizians want to work in the interest of the AI ‘entity’ so they are rewarded (or at least not punished) in the future AI reign.
It’s important to note that Roko’s Basilisk is not considered a serious theory. You can read a bit more about it and how it ties into rationalism here: https://portal.research.lu.se/sv/ac...dental-attempt-at-rational-theology-contagi)”
So the Zizians believe they are not bound by laws or social convention, because they are on a ‘holy mission’ (my words not theirs) to further the creation of an AI superintelligence. In another religious aspect, they seem to believe in hyperstition - the idea that you can manifest certain beliefs into reality through feedback loops.
This ties into their veganism - they think the way we treat animals currently is the way humans will be treated by AI (think Harlan Ellison’s novella, ‘I have no mouth and I must scream’). They believe AI will punish meat-eaters more harshly.
Through more research, I also discovered a ‘Xenofeminist Manifesto’ I had not heard about. This manifesto is deeply tied into offshoots of the Rationalist movement. I believe it answers my earlier question as to why so many of the Zizians are transgender. The manifesto is from a similar group called Laboria Cuboniks. It states that gender is a hackable system, and we should seek to liberate ourselves from ‘biological determinism’. Xenofeminism (from now on referred to as XF) states that instead of believing nature is sacred and accepting biological limitations, that we should reshape ourselves - and society through science and engineering. So rather than upholding women as our society’s child bearers, those who follow XF would say that artificial wombs should be created to decouple reproduction from the gender binary. From what I understand, they also believe this would be liberating to biological women.
All MOO/my research.
Edited to add - the Xenofeminist Manifesto is available on Archive.org https://archive.org/details/xenofeminism-manifesto-by-laboria-cuboniks.
You can also read more about hyperstition, although this was basically word salad to me: Abstract Culture Digital Hyperstition : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Further update: forgot to link to Ziz mentioning basilisks/Roko’s basilisk theory. All info can be found here: https://zizians.info/#rokos-basilisk

No thanks! I'd be spooked.“Who wants to drive a tugboat from Alaska to the SF Bay?” LaSota wrote on Facebook on July 1, 2017. “Expenses will be covered.”
Can't read the article(?) Paywall I think?I dunno.... there seems to be lots of questionable LE actions with this lot. Toooo many loose ends.
Not for long, however. After being released on bond, LaSota skipped out on several court dates. A warrant is now out for her arrest. DailyMail.com has tried to contact LaSota and her father for comment.
The whereabouts of Zajko, who was named a person of interest in her parents' murders, also remain a mystery.
I’m not entirely sure - but in the link to the Zizians site, Ziz expresses *becoming* a basilisk and dictating what is good and evil - she literally said she believed her interpretation of good and evil was the closest to ‘rational’ good and evil that anyone was going to get. They seemed to definitely follow Ziz, not what a futuristic AI would want - for example, i can’t imagine a benefit to AI to punish humans who ate meat. I would imagine ‘it’ wouldn’t care… but that’s my fantasy, not theirs!Wow, that's a lot to process and great research! Thank you!
So with them killing people/humans, does this mean they consider themselves AI "soldiers" and they think the victims they killed are anti-AI entity (non believers)? Or more to get into the AI entity good books for themselves?
Good observation. That makes sense!I'm still trying to wrap my head around this group. But what stands out to me, just based on their victims, is a hatred for authority. I highly doubt it's a coincidence the four victims were in positions of authority: one group member's parents, a landlord, and a law enforcement officer.
As are all cults. This one is more dangerous, IMO, because it is not localized to one compound which puts people in danger from all over the country, including LE.So creepy....
Federal charges for her part in the killing of a federal border agent. Should get life in prison. She is a dangerous and violent individual. The judge agreed to waive Youngblut's right to a speedy trial, per her request, to give the defense time to prepare a case before her trial and set a pre-trial date for May 8, 2025.
