Regarding the potential for a Victor, IA connection to Mollie through the St. Patrick/St. Bridget parish community — To be clear, if there were a potential person responsible from this connection, the individual in question wouldn’t even have to be a practicing parishioner of either of these churches to know Mollie well. It could just be somebody from the area, maybe not even be Catholic, but who likes to attend church sponsored community events, which are usually open to the entire town/regional community (Hey, money is money! Leaky roofs don’t fix themselves!). For instance, in my parish, we have a lot of non-Catholics in my town who like to participate in the spaghetti diners, movie nights, bingo, bus trips, camps, etc. These type of people see the church sponsored community events no different than one might see the community events sponsored by the grange, community center, or PTO, etc.
Alternatively through this connection, it could be a middle aged non-religious person who brings his older religious mother, etc., to church and church events. Not being interested in the events himself, he could distract himself at these happenings by focusing his attention on Mollie.
