Does MT have an ex boyfriend ? Did they end things on civil terms? Does her current BF have an ex girlfriend? What about the current boyfriend’s parents?? Do they live in town/iowa?

Just thinking about those not mentioned in 3 threads. Not accusing just wondering the status...

Presumably they do, who doesn't? But it's important to note that MT and DJ have reportedly been in a steady relationship for 3 years. That's a considerable amount of time considering their respective ages.

My thoughts when watching the latest video -touring through Brooklyn
1) wow...I think I remember a total of seeing 3 people in the town during the video, one a guy was on his riding mower in his front yard, and two- I saw two people separate in the kiddie park area.
2) I would almost characterize Brooklyn as a deserted town...lol...I think I saw two vehicles during that whole video (in town moving)
3) where do the townsfolk grocery shop?
4) If I wanted to get MT at the house, the way I would travel would def. be from that back dirt road to DJ's house, that was pretty isolated. On the other hand, I thought his house was more secluded then it really is. I can see that DJ's house is in a neighborhood where the other homes are really not that far apart.

According to her SM, MT does have an ex boyfriend.

Anyone wondering if they are planning to cancel the PC tomorrow would they let us know tonight or tomorrow morning?

I think at this point, it'd be an embarrassment for the department to cancel after the previous two. If anything, they'd probably come out and say they have nothing new that they can share with the public.

Not really. At least, it's not surprising. I went to school in Iowa with a couple who dated throughout high school and eventually got married and had children.

I’m not sure what post you are referring to, and I 100% percent think some of your thoughts are legitimate. However, there is truth in the fact, that missing women of color do not get the press coverage that white women do. It’s a simple fact. Yes, there are things that come into play... socioeconomic class, upbringing, location (big city vs small town) etc... but it’s true, white women gets headlines, unfortunately sometimes others don’t. However, none of this has to do with Mollie. The point of this thread is to help bring Mollie home. @RavenCC2020

I think that DCI is, likely, a very professional group of state level LE officers. They took one look at the mass and depth of SM (and other) digital data that needed to be collected and analyzed and, as in the movie Jaws, decided "we need a bigger net". Also, the FBI has more experience in asking Apple, et al, for info, and a Federal request might carry a little more weight. Or, at least, the FBI has all the necessary IT players on speed-dial!

I think you're right. That's good because sometimes local LE won't utilize the resources of the FBI.

A thought on stranger abduction vs acquaintance abduction: I haven’t made up my mind on this just yet. After viewing SharonNeedles wonderful and informative videos, a lot of people have switched theories away from stranger abduction while Mollie was jogging or walking to her Mom’s to either being taken from DJ’s house or going willingly with an acquaintance which later turned violent.

People are basing this on the fact that after watching the videos they felt there would have been too many witnesses to a stranger abduction during which Mollie would have likely put up a struggle.

I have tried to envision life in Brooklyn on a summer evening if in fact she disappeared sometime between 7:30 and around 9:00. Watching SharonNeedles’ daytime videos I did not see a lot of people on the streets nor did I see many cars except right in downtown. At 7:30 and later on a weeknight there would have been even less as many of the businesses would be closed for the evening around 5:00. So what about people in their homes? At that time of night people are probably either eating or cleaning up after dinner. They may have turned on the tv or are catching up with email, snail mail, or reading a book, newspaper, or magazine. There are probably less people looking out their windows at this time of day. Also, it was still light at that time and drivers would not have their headlights on yet. While I’m writing this I am sitting in my living room on my iPad. I barely acknowledge any traffic going by. However, if it was later, I would very likely notice headlights and would look out as they were going by, particularly if the car slowed or stopped.

So, imho, I think it would be very possible to have a stranger abduction in daylight in the evening in Brooklyn without witnesses.

I agree with all of this. And add on top of it that it sounds like (someone correct me if I am wrong) that there are at least a fair amount of Brooklynites who attend church. Wed. is a popular night for Church services and activities, so you may have more people out of the home than on another weeknight, too.

Yeah, I agree. If they were to plan another cancellation, they would do what they have done previously, and announce it early. Everyone has this date and time marked on their calendars, and it would reflect poorly on the investigation, and LE, if they were to cancel again and do it last minute.

I'm uploading these last two without much comment. This is another pass through Brooklyn looking more specifically at residential streets and possible jogging routes.

In addition to the thanks everybody else has given you, I want to thank you for not really making your daughter run MT's route through town! You'd probably be arrested for stalking her if you followed her all over town...

For those who want to help but don't know how:
  • DONATE to local K9 Search & Rescue organizations in the area and within the state. It takes a lot of training for these special dogs and that costs $$$.
  • DONATE to organizations like Texas EquuSearch, who depend on donations to fund their much-needed operations and are trusted specialists in helping to find missing persons.
  • DONATE to help fund support for search teams, who need water, food, and gear.
These organizations and ones like them always need more assistance. Donate in Mollie's name or anyone's name, but if you don't know how to help and you want to, that's a great way to make a difference.

As the mother of a biracial child, I respectfully agree to totally disagree with that.

My apologies, I was trying to Raven in the post above. Not good with the quote thing yet.
I will respect your opinion and agree to disagree here. My own children are not biracial but I have biracial as well as multi-racial children in my family. God forbid something happened to one of my nieces or nephews children I know my family would continue to be out there making noise and getting the word out. You can't ignore someone who is respectful and humble but determined to be in your face and that is exactly what MT family is doing exceptionally well. Her dad is is to be applauded for his doggedness and refusal to accept anything other then positive attitude and working to further network to get word out about his child. He is his child's advocate and refuses to quit. That is why some cases remain in the spotlight and others do not. Sheer determination by family to ensure their loved one is NOT forgotten about. RT is a media DREAM because he does not give up and it makes those in the media become more invested in helping him see this to conclusion therefore in the daily radar.

That said, time changes that. I will bet that if a month goes by and she is not found or anyone arrested, most media is going to move on. Not saying there will be a black out on this case but news outlets worry about their bottom lines. If viewership remains up, they will continue if it drops, sadly media focus drops as well. RT is a marketing executive and understands this. He is striking while the iron is hot.

Very interesting post. Thank you for sharing it.

Regarding the potential for a Victor, IA connection to Mollie through the St. Patrick/St. Bridget parish community — To be clear, if there were a potential person responsible from this connection, the individual in question wouldn’t even have to be a practicing parishioner of either of these churches to know Mollie well. It could just be somebody from the area, maybe not even be Catholic, but who likes to attend church sponsored community events, which are usually open to the entire town/regional community (Hey, money is money! Leaky roofs don’t fix themselves!). For instance, in my parish, we have a lot of non-Catholics in my town who like to participate in the spaghetti diners, movie nights, bingo, bus trips, camps, etc. These type of people see the church sponsored community events no different than one might see the community events sponsored by the grange, community center, or PTO, etc.

Alternatively through this connection, it could be a middle aged non-religious person who brings his older religious mother, etc., to church and church events. Not being interested in the events himself, he could distract himself at these happenings by focusing his attention on Mollie.

It could also be a good alibi reason, if spotted in town, during this time period.

Here’s a question that keeps recurring as I read...

Multiple parties have said pings led investigators to the area of the hog farms, but I am wondering if this has been officially confirmed by LE?

It strikes me, based on the quote below, that they may just have gone out there to interview WC.

“With family and friends in the clear, investigators looked at registered sex offenders and convicted criminals living locally.” Reward for missing Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts hits $260,000 | Daily Mail Online

Anyone wondering if they are planning to cancel the PC tomorrow would they let us know tonight or tomorrow morning?

Keep an eye out for news here or on twitter in the morning Iowa time.

I hope we get some information tomorrow and hopefully the WC situation is known.

I recall an interview with DJ where he stated that they'd met when he was in 3rd grade but started dating 3 years ago. IMO, very typical of town where the entire school population is 250.

BBM: T111, I had the same reaction you did seeing the video SharonNeedles posted (thanks again, SN! ), especially with regard to your 4th point. I was really surprised to see how many residences there actually are on that street and how the street itself pretty much resembles a suburban neighborhood. If the route MT took for her jog that evening had her running that direction, it's more difficult for me to envision a random "snatched from the street" stranger abduction.

Admittedly I chuckle a bit when I see surprise at how empty and quiet Brooklyn looks. I’m from MN and that’s pretty much what 90% of towns outside the Twin Cities suburbs look like.

The videos Sharon posted (TYTYTYTY by the way!) describe both states. I’ve been through Iowa many times and have probably driven through Brooklyn. They are that quiet and non descript.

Sadly for MT in this case, it really would be that easy for someone to be snatched off the street or get in a car without anyone noticing.
