The family knew soon after the car was found, that it was Eugene in the car.
"Kim's mother, Myung Sook Kim, told CBC News on Thursday, before the autopsy was completed, that the family was "99.9 per cent" certain the body inside the car belonged to her son..."...
I agree with you. However, I also know that in some cases the person starts to feel worthless and a burden on the loved ones that he truly believes the loved ones and the world in general, would be better off without him, and that dying would solve all problems.
I had read that Eugene had bought an Algonquin park permit but his car was found outside the park. Can someone who knows the area please confirm this? Also, how far is the spot where the car was found, from Voyageurs Quest Outfitting?
If he was making decisions without coersion or duress...
I am surprised that LE could not say if it was a man or a woman in the car. I dont expect the body to have deteriorated to that point, especially considering the cold weather. Also, I wonder what the person was wearing. Were they man or woman's clothes? Were they Eugene's clothes?
Back in October and again now, looking through Eugene's pictures, I have noticed that in most of them, where others around him have wide smiles, he shows only a hint of a smile. To me, he does not appear happy. For him to leave the way he did, he may have felt that he could not share his...
As per links posted earlier, Eugene's car has been found by hikers, on private property, in a wooded area, off a trail. In the picture with the tarp, I noticed that Eugene's car is next to another car. If it had been next to a working vehicle on private property, someone would have noticed it...
The distance between Voyageur Quest Outfitting (where Eugene supposedly stopped) and Chemical Road in South River is around 10km, depending upon where exactly his car has been found.

I agree. The goal was $10k, but donations were accepted until almost...
Not definitive, but not a good sign.
Since the family is sharing this information, it would be better to share on an English site AS WELL, as opposed to ONLY Korean.
My point is that different sites are saying different things. The latest North Bay news says only that he was last seen at 7am. None of them seem to mention or give details of the sighting when he got the permit, which should be the latest.
GigTu, this gave me a chance to read another case - Thelma Krill. There were reasons for her being declared as deceased, a mere 2 years after she disappeared.
One of the news websites stated --
"Police suspect foul play
Police have said they believe foul play is involved in the case but...
If you read the words, they say he was last seen at 7am. They don't say "by family". Makes me wonder why the last sighting is not stated as when he bought the permit. Is LE not convinced that it was Eugene who bought the permit?
Insurance is not paid until a body is found and a postmortem reveals a cause of death, or years after a person is missing, the court declares them as "presumed deceased".
