Interesting reading. What stood out to me was the bit about the letter she wrote to her mother and her boyfriend.....that is the first mention I've read of it involving her boyfriend. I know the contents were not released when the letter was sent, but I've only heard it described as a letter...

Just curious where things stand with the trial etc. Between not understanding nuances of the law, and being from a country where things are processed differently, just wondered where things are. What is scheduled to happen next? And when?

I have to keep telling myself that just getting home for her doesn't make it "over". Tons of healing. The trial will no doubt open up old wounds, making the healing take longer and be more painful. I truly hope she is doing well.

I was wondering how AH is doing these days. Did she return to school? I know she wanted to get back to a normal life, but that must be awfully difficult. Just wondering how and what she is doing. It's a long road ahead for her, and any progress in "normalcy" would be surely tested once the...

When the issue of moving the trailer came up, I think I read that he did not have the funds to pay the rent on the land at the trailer park? Wondering if that would be one of the reasons he let her go? I also read somewhere in all the news stories circulating at that time, that the state would...

I must admit my first reaction to the 7 yr maximum was incredulous....but if a perp has a choice of 7 yrs vs. life, then maybe it does help sway them to release people? We may not be having this discussion about her safe return if the punishment was more severe. It has been speculated that...

Yes I remember at the arraignment hearing he did not enter a plea, but later at the other hearing said he was not guilty. But was that entered into the court records as his plea or was that just the lawyer saying his client was not guilty? Whatever the case, it will play itself out soon enough.

I know it was interesting to me that the defence lawyer claimed his client was not guilty but did not enter that as a plea. (A world of difference though between saying not guilty and actually entering that as a plea in court). As a sheep among wolves in the legal world, I would have had my...

It sure will be interesting to see this all unfold. It keeps amazing me how someone will come along here and post something and I realize I had not thought of it from that angle. I'm thinking that a lot of inconsistencies could well be ones of perspective instead. When a family member had...

I guess they want to be controversial so as to garner ratings.....but it makes you wonder about discussions they have about other cases one may not be so familiar with. Do they have any credibility?

I hadn't noticed the trauma you wrote of above.....so went back and looked and can see what you mean. This is one of the reasons (not to flog a dead horse here!) that it's a good thing I'm not giving descriptions for police sketches! There is a picture of her in a black top on what looks like...

That is one of the things I have to keep remembering is that the prosecution represents the state not the victim! I know I often have difficulty separating the two and remembering to keep it that way!

I wondered that too! I figured that the defence acted for the accused, the State would handle the prosecution.......so guessed that the victim has one to act as a spokesman so that whatever is said publicly does not affect the prosecution's case. It makes sure anything said is censored in a...

The statement from the lawyer on Abby's behalf gave me chills. " Violently abducted" and "numerous acts of unspeakable violence" were just two phrases which stood out. I hope LE has been able to find the evidence they need to get a cast in stone conviction. When I re-read the letter the...

I remember at Ariel Castro telling the court that although he confined the three women, it was a household with a lot of love in it and was not as bad as it was described. I wonder if NK will approach things the same way? It was consensual, he did nothing wrong etc. I was watching the tv...

When I see the sketch which was released and then pictures of the man they arrested, I had trouble connecting those dots, since the sketch and photos of NK don't look alike to me. Some people see resemblances, others don't. To me the important thing was information from AH herself (which I am...

Perhaps it is the word false which is the offending word here? Was it "knowingly" false or was it merely less than 100% accurate. When I look at the sketch I don't see NK.....but that doesn't mean others can or can't see things the way I do. However, since LE said info. from Abby led to the...

I'm thinking that if I was asked to describe people I'd have trouble doing so.....but show me a picture of someone and I could say "Yes, that's the guy!" Wondering if something that simple could have happened here? Even if the sketch is not dead one accurate, it might have been the best under...

I too wondered if that letter to her mom was a way of trying to make it appear she ran away rather than was kidnapped. But that is just guess work. However the LE response, and that of her mother, made me think she was nearby. Again, just gut feelings, but nothing of substance beyond that. I...
