It hasn't been verified yet but there's a commenter in the comment section that insists the cop already has a brutality lawsuit against him. Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Really- I think the cop started all this - the kid was sitting there complying and the cop asks if anyone has...
I totally agree buffet. The power seems to have gone to the cop's head. Supposedly he's been reassigned to "desk duty" while they "investigate" the incident. But everyone sure seems to wonder when it became law that we had to carry ID 24/7. That's about all anyone can agree on in this case...
This is quite the topic of conversation in the Bay Area- personally I think the cop was over the top in this situation - I'd be interested to hear everyone else's thoughts.

Yep I heard that too while I was in the sitting in the car on the freeway stuck in traffic listening to the press conference on KGO. You never know what or who all those items may be related to huh? A reporter asked about that - the response also was they were being very careful to...
I'm aware of what sanctuary means. And trust me - Antioch is NOT a tolerant place that would allow sanctuary for anyone. They'd be first in line to hand them over to INS, Homeland Security, FBI etc if they could.
With all of the problems Antioch has experienced in the past five years or so there's no way any agency would enter into an unwritten understanding to allow anyone sanctuary there. The crime rate is already too high- they're not going to be advocating sanctuary of yet more criminals. Antioch...
Bold by me- I don't recall it ever dropping below 30 degrees - it gets cold up on Mt Diablo which is near Antioch - but Antioch is further east- and warmer. I recall it snowing just once when I was a kid. It does get as hot as he** there in the summer months though -on that you are correct...
I don't know if this has been posted- an interesting article with interviews from neighbors - http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/08/27/BA4N19EJ35.DTL
The part about the young girl clinging to him in a manner she felt strange - ugh...
Not usually. This is in the older part of Antioch- so the houses would be at least 50 years old - very unlikely that the house would have a basement. Now they just build monster houses in Antioch on smallish lots - also with no basements.
I'm really surprised this has not gotten more coverage - I figured for sure it would be on Court TV (well whatever it's called now). I'll keep my eyes peeled to see what happens in the penalty phase but hopefully Tonia or someone can post a link once it's done. I bet pretty little Jessie is...
Some people genuninely feel they were born in the wrong body/sex. I worked in a large hospital in SF where they did transgender assignments and it was heartbreaking to listen to these people and the pain they suffered from early ages- feeling like they were a boy when they were born a girl or...
truly amazing what they can do these days medically and surgically. I have to wonder why the animal husband of hers only got seven years - doesn't seem right at all.
What courage for her to have written this article. Thanks for posting it Cherokee- a great read and very informative. Hopefully she's right about the possible insanity plea not flying...
I don't see a thread on this so I thought I'd start one...I am hopeful that the judge will let Sandra's remains lay untouched.
