Was it proven in this trial that his father was aware of EC asking for mental help?
I wasn't able to watch more than an hour of this trail, so I'm genuinely asking.
She and James had an equal investment in the horses and the house and their son for that matter. We're just able to pick her apart because they have separate trials.
I don't how how much solace this verdict will provide Ethan, considering his statement to the court upon his sentencing was that...
I am surprised as to the foreperson's youth, and Michigan tends to be a liberal-leaning state.
I agree that some of the comments by JC were a slap in the face.
I can see the older people going along with the younger jurors. I see this all the time in my own family. The older peeps don't even...
It's going to be really hard for her to show remorse. I'm assuming she'll do 20 yrs. with time served, so 18. So she'll get out close to 65 at best?
I think it's very hard to fake acceptance of guilt. I think she'll get out an old woman. MOO
Whereas I honestly thought her closing was brilliant, her opening with Taylor Swift lyrics was bizarre at best. You don't open with a pop singer's lyrics when four children are dead.
It does make me wonder if both sides higher focus groups of mock jurors before they try these lighthearted...
She said the night before the shootings (prosecution cross), that she took away his phone, the gun, and shooting range privileges. The prosecution quickly went on to another question, then paused asked her something along the lines of, "So you took away his gun after the fight?" And she said, no...
Oh wow, forgot about the helicopter parent claim by her attorney. Yeah, nobody buys that and it was a stupid thing for an attorney to assert about a client who's being charged for 4 deaths.
Excellent summary of things that may have influenced the guilty verdict.
When she said she wouldn't change a thing, I literally gasped. I'm sure she was directed to say that by her attorney, but it was a gross tactic, and although I understand where they were going with this, you just don't say...
Yes, I do think parents should be held legally responsible in some cases.
In this case, I don't see how all can comfortably agree to find her guilty. She's made many statements that cannot be proven one way or another because James can't testify, her son can't testify.
I'm clearly in the minority on this one. She has lost most everything and will stick around and try to connect with him. I truly think she thinks she's *advertiser censored*. She's not hanging waiting on her husband.
I'm not sure to be honest. I'm not one to have a lot of trust in school counselors or guidance personnel or principal. My kids went to a private school K-12, so we had issues with influential parents paying their kids out of trouble and athletes running wild without scrutiny.
To answer your...
Sorry if this has already been asked...just joining.
If Guilty:
Does the judge provide the sentencing, or will this same jury have to deliberate later as to what they think the sentence should be. And if the jury recommends say 10 years, does the judge have the authority to give her something...
