Sorry, may have been my post. You're right, I think the extreme religiousness is more associated with schizophrenia or other conditions that cause people to have delusions or hear voices, ie. god speaking to them, etc. At least that was the case with my aunt. Apologies for lumping them together...
Welcome. Can you shed any light on state of mind? None of the media is mentioning mental illness or anything of that nature, and that it's just completely out of character...but from reading her journal and all of the chaos that was always going on in her life, it sounds to me like she was more...
Personally, I don't see how someone could read those LJ entries and not conclude that she has some kind of mental health issues. So much is rambling and incoherent, and even the parts that are coherent seem pretty out there. I also don't think it's that uncommon for people with bipolar disorder...
This is a long shot, and I saw her case briefly mentioned, but has a connection to the murder of Heather Ciccone been explored at all? Katelin went missing on the 5th, and Heather was shot the night of the 6th. Heather supposedly had a female stalker and was getting death threats, and mentioned...
Yeah, I don't think there's any purposeful deceit, but I think one of the big differences between a seasoned detective and amateur investigator is the ability to judge whether information being told to you is truthful or not. Just because someone tells me something is true doesn't make it so...
I guess part of it is also the credibility of who did the interview and is relaying what they learned. I'm much more inclined to believe a detective or credible journalist than someone that has a profit motive and a questionable history of going back and forth between theories and making bold...
Totally agree - I have experience with it as well. I think all of the rumors of bulimia are just that, rumors and hearsay. However there is very good evidence in her actions that point towards alcohol abuse. Hard to say if it rises to the level of alcoholism or not without more information, but...
I haven't listened to this one yet, but from the past episode(s) that included him I got the feeling he was really playing up his connection to the family as more than it actually was. Didn't seem like the real deal to me. I'll give it a listen though.
He's trying to find his daughter, not defend himself (or her) against a bunch of trash talking and conspiracy theories on a forum. Some things don't deserve being addressed in a public video that's just trying to keep the case fresh in people's minds.
I just came here to post this as well. Hopefully this puts to rest the questions about Fred and his motives. To me, the video very clearly shows a father in distress over 11 years later, still desperate to find his missing daughter. It also sounds like he doesn't know much more than everyone...

This article lists the gold bar as 25lbs, which is close enough to the weight of a standard bullion bar (~27.3lbs). The quote from the sheriff also seems to support that at least the...
The gold bar has never been recovered, correct? Everyone seems to be focusing on either them both leaving on their own accord, or them both coming to harm by a third party. What if the son and mother were arguing over ownership and he ended up harming her and then taking off with the gold (or...
