RG was step father to Brooke and her siblings for several years. Perhaps Cassandra didn't know that he lived with another family? He had only lived there for about 6 months. There is a teenager in that household, maybe Brooke was going to stay in her room?

Originally it said daughter of James and Cassandra Bennett. That was changed to daughter of James and Cassandra Adams, since they were not married. Hopefully they have corrected that to James Bennett and Cassandra Adams.
