Okay so these are approximate, since they're pretty down and dirty. I believe the first three are pretty accurate - once again based on what I believe is an 84" door installation and accounting for some lens distortion - the last one I'm not as sure on: Main tiled hallway: ~15'0" wide Dutch...

Very nice job. Quick question: Is it possible to give us an approximate location of this camera and/or scene? Thanks in advance!

One shiny object is part of the door push, the two further left appear to be a wheelchair wheel. Often churches will offer wheelchairs at their entrances to assist elderly and disabled folks.

Oh, yeah I see what you're saying - that I didn't subtract weight around the middle torso area. Gotcha. So weird, green man does not look skinny to me. Just lean/average. Maybe folks have different ideas of what skinny is too?

And yet that number jumps to over 90% when the victim is a woman and her killer is male - according to a study cited by the National Criminal Justice Reference Service

Could you please point out where I made the green man in my animations "over weight"?

I'm chuckling about the irony of the original blanket statement, not about murder.

I had to chuckle at this one. I find the idea that people are murdered by those they know, trust, or even share their life with, far, far more disturbing than by a random stranger lurking in the darkness somewhere. Talk about not feeling safe in your own life. I don't agree with your assessment...

It's common knowledge that "overkills" indicate the crime is personal. That's usually believed to be due to the level of emotions involved. But some criminal psychologists are now coming to believe that the overkill/personal link is the result of assuring the victim cannot survive to identify...

How long has that been code for residential? Because I live in a new neighborhood. The attached wall mirrors installed just a few years ago (then subsequently demoed) were definitely not safety glass. Nor the double paned windows. All break into very large shards. Is this very recent code changes?

Do you mean in commercial/institutional installations Cannonball? That's interesting. I was unaware of that.

I certainly don't think one has to be any kind of expert to form an opinion. As far as the vest being real or not, if you mean the kind of ballistic vests LE uses, I tend to agree. I think it's a -50 dollar paintball costume. Still a tac vest though - with plenty of bulk.

I think most of it is spot on. Everything I've read on the subject pretty much requires that the photogrammetrist have access to the scene and cameras, which we don't have. I did feel part of his analysis seemed contradictory. One of his slides was captioned "no large belly", yet he goes on to...

Thanks for asking. I did answer that same question previously, but it was buried in a very long-winded post. Here's a shorter version of that answer: The one area that is concealed most is the middle torso. It is possible that that area is actually thinner than my animation - more hourglass...

Two options: An average sized person wearing a jacket and tactical vest or a fat person wearing no tactical gear. According to my estimates and measuring, I don't believe it can reasonably be both. So it must only be one or the other. I'm not trying to bend your mind - just trying to determine...

I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I'm pretty adamant about my work, so I'll just come right out and ask: Do those who think what they're seeing is a heavyset person believe the subject is not actually wearing tactical gear with an overall thickness of 6 or more inches...

It's possible she was in the vestibule area where the cameras could not see. I'm still having a really hard time placing the location of the restrooms within the context of the map(s) and the cameras. Can someone who has seen them give a better pinpoint location? There is only around 6ft of...
