Naming him a "POI" means he may have information related to Gabby's disappearance. It may/may not mean BL committed the crime, and it may/may not lead him to being labeled a "suspect." If they have evidence he committed the crime, he'd be named a "suspect."

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that LE will be trailing every move BL makes and they'll make sure he's aware of that. BL won't be able to leave his driveway without a LE vehicle riding his bumper every place he goes. They'll do this till he starts talking.

I can't say for sure but my guess is the Mom has been trying to get answers from the BF, and he's not talking. I'd guess that the Mom is in contact with LE looking for answers, and they told her he's not talking.
