Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell, 18, Reported Missing from Norfolk, VA - 3 March 2015

I've just been lurking here and there since I really won't have anything else to say until we get an ME report or an arrest. But this mess just keeps getting messier and messier huh. Okay back to lurking :)

GUILTY VA - Jean Smith, 25, shot to death, Isle of Wight County, 17 April 2015

sincer her military tour was cut short it seems (2 years is way too short of a contract) she may have had some issues that rendered her unfit for military duty. i wonder if she struggled any psychological battles.

it's possible he killed AJ then took her phone back to his hotel, turned it on to text JH so she wasn't suspicious and then turned it off. enough to get ping data imo

the whole "we stared at each other and didn't talk" mambo makes me think that in his head he's referring to staring at deceased AJ and at what he had done in silence. If she died in his hotel i think he lured her there with the cash.

I can't trust that JH saw AJ in the morning. I just can't until LE proves it. Also, i'm thinking grandma H may drive a minivan because I can't think of anyone else.

Let's not forget that there is still a CRIME SCENE somewhere! I don't believe that she was taken to that empty house and killed there...I hope this comes to light in the next few days/weeks (hopefully closer to days lol) too.

If a victim is strangled, but the body decomp is so severe that LE can't determine that the victim indeed died by strangulation, a forensic anthro would examine the neck bones and look for fractures, however tiny in specific bones. (a fracture doesn't ALWAYS show but it can)

I should probably let everyone know that in just ONE week, a body can decompose about 60% (more so when the body is lying outside in the open and exposed to wildlife). AJ was found almost a month and a half after her TOD. This may clear up any need for a forensic anthro. I'm not surprised they...

Yes, THAT we don't know for a fact either. IMO, I think that someone's explosive anger got the best of him and she died of asphyxiation because it's the only way I can picture it happening. A heated argument turned deadly. JMO

I wasn't even thinking about internally. I was thinking about on her clothes/underwear. :/ tough thought I know but just had to put it out there. I know this is graphic, but if semen left the vagina and dried on her underwear, it's more likely that forensics can gather something (assuming the...

Absolutely. Blunt-force (Hammer, shovel, lamp, etc), sharp-force (knife or other sharp object), and ballistic (gunshot) can all be seen in bones. Bones are a lot like furniture. They're very hard and stable but they do receive scuffs and scratches from trauma. Forensic anthropologists can tell...

I believe the ME would be able to find trace amounts in a lab. That's my opinion.

I've never met an anthropologist that came to a conclusion without physically examining the remains. The only other reason to call in an anthro imo is to examine the dirt in which she was placed or buried. Soil composition is a great way to form a timeline. Changes in color and chemical makeup...

I agree with you. Chances are the ME did not rush and would like further assistance in another area of expertise. I hate to bring this up but remember the eye witness of the crows in the yard? Crows don't care about preserving crime scenes and they can mess it up pretty terribly imo

Any time. I'm chock full of random info about archaeology, bone forensics, as well as the origins of zombies and vampire folklore [emoji12]
