If it was a joke the family probably didn't want people to think otherwise or the other friends didn't want everyone looking at it. Weren't some of them married now? If it wasn't a joke, guess the same reasons for not wanting them out there could apply. JMHO ;)

The fact that he did tell his friend where he was and that he would come back to cover the meeting does make it seem like he wasn't trying to disappear. I would also think he would need his cell phone charger and his car, credit cards, etc. if he was planning on being gone. IMHO. Sure hope...

I just stayed at Comfort Inn in Orlando for the past two nights and there were two elevators in the building we were in. There were also at least 3 more buildings that all had their own elevators. I actually looked for cameras near the elevators, but didn't see any.

ITA!! IMO this story does not make sense. I cannot think of one good reason to leave a venue once you have entered.

I am unsure of all the reasons for not allowing reentry, but every venue I have attended has the same rule. (even sports events) There really is NO reason to go out of the gates unless you are leaving. They have restrooms, food, drinks and designated smoking areas. I pray that she is okay.
