Guilty, 2nd degree murder. The evidence for SYG is a vicious beating complete with bashed head and broken nose, but there are numerous photos and videos of Zimmerman that do not show evidence of a beating. I think Zimmerman shot Trayvon over the altercation that he himself caused, shot Trayvon...
Got it, you guys are right, had to find the original Reuters article via digg. Curious if anyone but the Mail took it.
However, I stand by my original statement that the Mail shouldn't be relied on for hard news, especially when citing things here. Can I just say that the top headline in...
Well see, this is one of those things the Daily Mail does. The article is a Daily Mail article written not by a person, but by "Reuters Reporter". You can click on it to find out "all about the author" and headlines like this come up:
The horrifying fate of prostitutes forced to take...
Just so everybody knows, the Daily Mail is like the National Enquirer. Its a tabloid paper, not a source of hard news.
"The Daily Mail is a British, daily middle-market[2] tabloid newspaper owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust.[3]
"The Daily Mail was Britain's first daily...
I'm not sure what "the majority of the assumptions" are, exactly. That Zimmerman profiled Trayvon? For many of us it's not an assumption, rather an unavoidable conclusion. That Zimmerman has issues with aggression? His arrest record is a fact, if his conviction record is not. That he's...
I don't see how any of us can achieve complete objectivity when one whole half of the story is missing.
To approach this as if Trayvon's story is irrelevant simply because he's not here to give it isn't, in my book, viewing this objectively. It is viewing half of the story objectively.
I don't agree with the bolded part (BBM). If your perception is that someone's presence is enough of a problem to warrant a call to 911, your perception is also necessarily that the person is some sort of danger - to themselves, to others, to property. Otherwise you'd not bother calling 911...
BBM Would you mind letting us know what that bad significance is?
Here's a link to a Wikipedia article about grills, and while there's a lot of reference to hip hop culture, they're mostly viewed as teeth jewelry. I think saying they're worn to send an "I'm tough" message is a subjective...
I don't see why its perplexing that Trayvon's tweets have been made public. Why should his family or anyone else have a reason to hide them? He was a 17 year old boy who's interested in popular culture, girls and sex. That is pretty non-sinister.
That Trayvon didn't tweet like a choirboy...
Papa, the two sentences before the underlined one wave a big old irony banner. They are used by George to justify his own previous assault on an officer because said officer hadn't identified himself, and George had no way to know who he was. Cough, choke.
Nice if he'd learned a lesson...
This does make one wonder if ole George has any greater insight now into what Trayvon felt like the night he was stalked and shot down in the street, i.e. what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a rogue mentality that combines little regard for personal rights with an unwillingness to...
I'm happy to wait for facts to come out. It is fact that twice, expert voice analysis concluded that Zimmerman wasn't screaming for his life, which only leaves Trayvon.
Folks can twist reality all they like, adjust their blinkers, find a reason to slam a field they know nothing about, and...
If Zimmerman had a gun in his hand, and Trayvon was trying to pin his arms to keep him from using it, he darn sure would be screaming. For Zimmerman to have the presence of mind and the physical space required to unholster his gun from his waist and get it up to chest level while simultaneously...
Something else I've been meaning to throw out there.
In terms of physical aggression, in terms of hand to hand involvement, there is no evidence that Trayvon Martin ever had a fight in his life, or even knew how to conduct himself in one.
Zimmerman, on the other hand, had bouncer...
I respectfully disagree. If I say Hillary Clinton is not Bill Clinton's wife, I certainly might be expected to provide a link for such, if others disagree.
OT but not really. When one requests links for something stated as fact, how long might one be required to wait for them? What's the process if there are no links forthcoming? How does opinion stated as fact get corrected for others who might read it and believe it?
