I don't believe that the SCPD is "chasing it's tail", either. The detective assigned to RM's case is NOT a stupid person and is fully capable of solving a missing person's case.

While I certainly think all of our scenarios are possible, over time some are looking less likely. I think *if* a crime/foul play had been committed in that area of Suffolk County (covered by two police precincts) there would be some evidence by now. Since it seems unlikely that Rob would have...

I just want to say, one more time, that all areas searched by the dogs (the area around RM's car, the train station, Edgewood Preserve, Pilgrim Psychiatric) failed to reveal RM's scent. The two agencies involved (SCPD, and Long Island SAR) have dogs/handlers who are well respected and have good...

Without going into any further detail, I am willing to believe that someone could have gotten in over their head with something. That's not the same thing as being conned, especially for someone who knows the law. I refuse to paint this person as a victim. The people who were involved in "that...

Edgewood Preserve was searched on 7/7, by Long Island SAR, whose dogs did not detect RM. But, perhaps this scenario happened elsewhere.

Namus is a collaborative effort of civilians and LE...thus the possible inconsistencies. The absolute, factual data of this case would be in NCIC, which is off limits to the public. :shakehead:

A cadaver dog can do basic tracking as well. The same cannot be said in reverse. I'm not sure which kind of dogs they used, but I trust they used what was appropriate, in the different areas they searched.

They were there for the purpose of "tracking" RM's scent...meaning away from the car (as in the train platform, the grounds of nearby Pilgrim Psychiatric, etc.). Yes, his scent would absolutely be inside the car.

You're right. It's not a likely scenario. If I believe that a seemingly healthy/fit adult male (in control of his faculties) became the victim of random violence in broad daylight, I have to go with robbery. The most valuable thing (the car) turns up parked and in good condition (not stripped...

But, for every scenario I've tried to follow all the way through, there's a point where I say: "Oh, wait...that wouldn't work." Two of the big parts of the story: the trip to the scrap yard, and where the car was found, have so many variables that I can't make them fit any scenario well. I DO...

Dear "Person Who Parked The Car", Could you be a little clearer in what you wanted people to believe? With all the inconsistencies in this one act, we've missed your point. :banghead:

Yes, that's always possible. We can include that in #1.

Authentic witness protection is arranged by federal law enforcement, and carried out by the U.S. Marshal's Service. They don't stage someone's disappearance (or worse). They're professional, discreet, and don't leave the person's family behind (unless they opt not to go). If you mean RM's own...

I think our four working scenarios are: 1) left willingly (with or without a reason that people will find acceptable), 2) was the victim of violence from someone who knew him, 3) was the victim of random violence, 4) committed suicide/died from the result of something medical. I don't feel the...

If I was involved in someone's abduction or MURDER, I certainly wouldn't park my victim's car in a place where thousands of people in his community pass through everyday. Some of those people could conceivably know RM or his car. I'd want no public association with his car. If I needed to come...

So right! If someone was murdered, or had committed suicide, people would have given more freely. An adult missing for a (relatively) short period of time under unusual circumstances? No. :hiding:

I feel if LE had a clear cut answer ("We'd like to run some more tests." or "It's just a technicality. You're going to need to have the car's title transferred to your name first."), they would say so. I don't know what to make of NO answer. Everything about this case (or should I say, what WE...

Someone asked for a ballpark idea of RM's salary. That was the best estimate that I could make. I think we all agree that living in NY is very expensive, and that RM/IM are not "rich". :banghead:

Oh, absolutely. If we factor in income tax, property tax, a possible mortgage, TWO kids, etc., RM isn't "rich". I think his salary plus income that IM contributes, makes them "comfortable" at best.
