I've had the same problem researching the hotel's past. For example, the person that was found strangled in 2003- there's no mention of the individuals name or motive, and yet it was a homicide!
It has been so difficult to find any history of the Cecil, from financial files to ownership...
Okay, there was another death at the Cecil in 2003
Still trying to find out more about this crime.

IMHO, I think we're relying too much an internet account that may or may not be hacked. I've thought this since that Tarot card post. Perhaps it's just another internet troll getting a thrill??? Just throwing it out there.:twocents:
First statement:
The Hotel has declined to answer ANY media questions, I don't know why they would suddenly grant a statement.
Two: Are we certain when the video with Alvin Taylor was taken? Was the body already out of the cistern when taken?
No disrespect, but I think there's something...
It has been widely reported that the Cecil doesn't have heat in the rooms. Factor in that the hotel had a lot of empty rooms, plus the fact that temperatures were far below normal, and it's quite possible that poor girl was in one of those rooms.
ITA on all points. She was just a 21 year old young lady, finding herself in a big city. She seems bright and friendly. Naive maybe, but weren't we all at 21?
My hope is that if this was a homicide, they catch her killer. I am hoping for justice.
Great. Now I'm going to have that Eagle's song stuck in my head.:rocker:
There's more to this story, I'm sure. Something just doesn't make sense. If LE is fairly certain that this is an accidental death, why aren't more facts being released?
Something I've been wondering: How in the world can...
It was finally decided in 2011, that the property would stay SRO. Records indicate that the owner was sued by LACAN, in 2008 due to the supposed illegal conversion of the Cecil to the Stay.

I am trying to find...
It could be that the hotel is afraid of losing more tenants and SRO funding:

Just putting that out there.
That's a good question, and I'm not sure it was answered. I don't know why it would be such a secret. With the reviews and reports of malfunctioning equipment, it wouldn't shock me at all.:furious:
I figured this too: especially because of Elisa's outgoing nature, it seemed as if she made friends easily. I could see her getting a call from staff or someone she met at the hotel and arranging to meet this person. This would have to be someone with an intimate knowledge of security and outlay...
