The photos of the front/left side of the house show it having a basement and tuck-under garage, which most likely would have an entrance into the basement.

I’m thinking it looks like a storm door, or “screen door” (sans screen), or whatever it’s called. That would make sense, too, if the father was found shot in the front entryway, as reported.

I don't know if it's just taboo to say this, and that's why it hasn't come up, but I've never seen anyone mention the possibility that maybe Maura was pregnant. To add to that, now that I'm thinking about it more, the upsetting phone call could have been the results of her pregnancy test...
