Ron isn't going to kill anybody because if we believe him, the person he suspected was within his circle, therefore he had the means to "take out the trash" long ago. And he did nothing...IMO, Ron is a danger to himself. And if that blows up...well let's just say-we'll here about a funeral for Ron.

Oh I agree he is not going to kill anyone. But I do think LE has to act as if they take his treats seriously. Just to CYA.

I see no reason he can't go unless he is a suspect. If allowed, he attends the funeral with police escort and in cuffs. In listening to Shoemaker, none of us should worry about rc at all. According to his attorney, rc does not have any anger, just a little disappointed though. :waitasec:

Well yes, and I do support Ron going to the funeral unless there are charges that he is involved in her death. That is the only proper thing to do for all involved.

It's the listening to Shuemaker part that I am having trouble with? Did nobody actually show him the news videos of his client enraged client ranting on camera to police officers that he is going to shoot up their police cruisers in order to kill anyone involved?

Is Shoemaker a publuic defender? Or is Ron actually paying him? because more and more his statements seem to have the same well researched tone of validity found on most internet blogs.

As much as I can't stand Ron and believe him to be guilty, I agree with you. Actually, I think just seeing his behavior would be very interesting anyway.

I feel you need to know that PCSO has NOT told the family to make funeral arrangements. I know this for a fact. I have no idea where Shoemaker got his information from but it was confirmed today that this is not true.

Everyone on this thread has been so kind and worried that I felt it was better to let you all know. I did get permission to pass this on to you.

KSH 352... A big heartfelt thanks to you for this information...

Marlaini Shaivo on Prime News says: Shoey said Ron was told to make funeral arrangments or something like that.

Quoting myself to say, BIG DIFFERENCE! Someone (cough cough Ron) decided to play it up for the media and garner sympathy. IMO

Or the attorney over-reached and got caught at it. He's got deniability if he wasn't present.

Wonder if Shoemaker will be on to discuss this tonight on NG? from her website:

Breaking News! Haleigh's dad Ron Cummings was reportedly told to start making funeral arrangements for his missing daughter as police announce the little girl is likely dead, according to his attorney. Multiple versions of what happened to Haleigh emerge, one in which the girl was bound with rope, tied to cinder blocks, and dumped in the St. Johns River. Have the alleged possible murder weapons been found? Are arrests in Haleigh's murder about to happen any moment? Nancy Grace has the latest, breaking developments every night!

Yep Shoemaker was/is on NG..and now he says that they told the family the day they called them in to make funeral arrangements.

Shoemaker was not there they day they brought in the family. Did you hear him change "his" story about what they said 3 times?

THE FAMILY WAS NOT TOLD TO ARRANGE A FUNERAL.
It is a fact and when the public learns the truth Shoemaker won't look so good for stating a mis-truth.

The back-pedaling by Shoemaker with regard to his earlier statement that "the family had been told to make funeral arrangements" was almost painful to watch. What possessed Ronald's attorney to issue such a comment to the media? Sadly, all of HaLeigh's family members have likely heard about this by now and are probably questioning it's validity and why they weren't privy to the same information if it is, indeed, true. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief.

WE REALLY need a presser from LE..................
to many stories and lies coming from media and lawyers........IMO

I have a feeling Mr. Shoemaker overstepped his bounds - no way did LE tell anyone in Haleigh's family to start planning a funeral. It is more likely that Le told them the possibilities were high that Haleigh was deceased and Ron told Shoemaker he was planning for a funeral. How can one have a funeral with no remains ? A memorial yes but a funeral - no. LE would not say this period unless they had recovered Haleigh's remains and were 100% positive what they recovered was Haleigh.

This simply did not happen, the words most likely came from Ron - definitely not from LE. Calling BS on Shoemaker - he's talking with no direct knowledge.

Or try to make LE look stupid!! Did you hear all the expert panelist saying "they had never heard that or they try not to say that until they have proof"?

I was thinking of Ron's dramatics of falling to the ground weeping and than popping back up when the cameras didn't follow. I can see him telling Shoey they told me to plan my little girl's funeral because for Ron IMO it is all about him and how he feels. Sympathy for Ron.

I've thought this all along.

Thank You KSH352.

I agree. I think he was quoting his client and he looked mighty uncomfortable, IMO, on television this evening. He has so 'splaining to do.

Truly grateful for your input and completely furious for the pain his comments have caused. I really have no words.

Perhaps he should listen to his client and weigh it carefully before opening his mouth and inserting his foot. It doesn't take a lawyer to figure out LE didn't say what he has claimed they said.

And in thinking back on this interview and his mentioning that Joe O was mentioned on the 911 call--wth, unless redacted, is he speaking about. We've listened to that call a million times. This is all making me more suspicious of his client. JMO

He said the family was told they may want to be looking toward the future That may have sounded like funeral to some?
