As court concluded for the day, the live stream from WFTV went to Bill Shaeffer for his comments on the day' court session. He summed it up beautifully, saying that today was another day of loss for the defense. He said the state's case stands way ahead of what the defense has presented.

Personally, I think today was a major day for the state. At the lunch recess, HHBP addressed the defense's claim that the state was introducing new evidence at this late date. We learned that the state is planning on introducing telephone logs and computer logs that will show the activity in the Anthony household on June 16, 2008. I think these logs will disprove the defense claim that Caylee drowned in the family pool on that day.

Secondly, we learned that a young woman by the name of April Whalen has come forward stating that she was in the Orange County jail in the summer of 2008 (petty theft) and that she told other inmates about the death of her child on December 26, 2007. Her child died in the family's above ground pool and was found by her father - the child's grandfather. The grandfather tried cpr and called 911. It would appear that April Whalen heard the defense's opening statement and realized that the defense's claim of Caylee drowning in the family pool is April's story.........a story Casey adopted as her own.

I think we can see now that the state is preparing their rebuttal and it will refute many defense claims.

I clearly remember when this stuff about GA came out. First it was he had an affair...but it wasn't physical. Sounds more like a friendship to me, although inappropriate. And the accident was his theory. The reason it was big news at the time was because the As were still saying Caylee was alive! He never said he KNEW WHAT HAPPENED and had definately never said he was there! It's so ridiculous.

Why though, why does Baez hate Dr Vass so much?

Because Dr Vass is right, it can be the only explanation.

Everything I post here is my opinion only.

People like Baez can't stand people like Vass.

Baez is working very hard at being charming, but it's all fake, and it doesn't hold up. Vass is naturally charming, he doesn't even try, and if someone pointed it out to him, he would probably get embarrassed.

Baez pretends to be intelligent. He throws out words that in a lot of cases he doesn't even use correctly. He seems to think making a 5 word sentence into 2 paragraphs means he's very smart and he's impressing people, but most just find it annoying. Vass is extremely intelligent, and has no need to show off. He talks like a normal person.

Baez has probably spent his whole life trying to fake others into believing he is what Vass genuinely is, and I think he recognizes this in Vass and hates him for it.

so far nothing I have heard sways my opinion, especially now that I fully understand how there is a complete lack of soft tissue evidence on the tape....this was hanging me up...

also I think today was a joke...so if the jury is anywhere near as checked out as I am...

team Casey is in dire straits....just not buying any of this testimony as anything more than a second guess by a secondary ( and less reliable) source.

hopefully Baez will continue this parade of student experts to entertain us.

IF she is..She has done no examinations of any witnesses in this trial..She is apparantly part of the "Mitigation Team" aong with AF...so wondered regarding posters comments about her method of asking questioning of witnesses.. Dont mean to start an argument:banghead:

Lisbeth Frye didn't question witnesses; she argued issues in front of HHJP at pre-trial hearings. She was articulate, respectful, and succinct. I think she'd do a better job with witnesses - it'd be hard not to do better than Baez.

experienced attorney would have long ago plea bargained this case. I'm sure that way back when if she had said accident they would have been lenient. Once this case became the object of media frenzy JB wanted to drag this out as long as he could. Honestly, that's what I think. This is completely about him and his quest for fame and fortune. He is a disgrace to the profession. I hope and expect that HHJP has kept careful track of each and every unethical offense committed by JB and that the ensuing bar investigation ensures that JB will not be sought out by anyone for any reason.

Oh and I wanted to say this before I had to pop out for a while.

I am not a huge fan of the DT, obviously. But I will say this about them in my objective view point. With the type of evidence and the pure volume of evidence presented there wasn't many ways JB and Co. could go. There were only two options, and out of the two he choose the wrong one. It's quite possible the option they went with was the only option his client allowed him to go.

There's no way ICA would have ever taken any sort of responsibility at all for Caylee's demise. None at all. So the only theory or defense that could have possibly gotten ICA off was that an accident occurred and she got scared and dumped the body after keeping it in her car for a few days.

We can't blame JB for his ridiculous theory, when it might have been ICA that put him up to it. It screams ICA actually, nothing and I do mean nothing pleases ICA more than causing pain to her family and this is one way she was certain to cause the most pain.

I wonder if she's regretting joining the team. Did the other attorneys volunteer for the job? I can't imagine anyone wanting to work with Jose Baez out of their own free will, you know without being under hypnosis or something.

Speaking of chemistry sets-- now that Baez has mentioned Melich didn't find anything at the home, if those Home Depot tapes have anything for us they can come in on rebuttal, right?
