Everyone keeps remarking on how well-prepared RK is...which makes me wonder why he should need to be, if he is just going to tell what happened...

.

Honestly, I wouldn't take the stand in a case like this without being prepared. Especially given what all the defense is accusing him of.

Various circumstances and facts... also what he was thinking on August 11. Basically he is playing "stupid and simple" (possum) today, as if nothing he said before even exists.

We'll dissect all of this later in the Kronk thread. I'll bet DawnTCB and myself will have more to say later.

You really have to be very familiar with his previous testimonies to understand the games he is playing right now on the stand.
I'm familiar with his testimonies. I just don't see "games" I see a well pepared witness who has been told to answer only what is put to him, then stfu. Do not elaborate or explain, or ramble about what you were thinking, feeling, etc. Do not give the lawyer room to hang you. Ever. Play dead until asked a question. Answer it. Now shut it.

Also, I do believe that CM is suffering from sort of early signs of dementia and have thought so since I first saw him in this trial. Very hard to believe, based on this case, that he has been a respected, effective attorney.

If you were accused of either moving a body for financial gain or even murder as JB claimed in the beginning, wouldn't you be well prepared?

Also, if he came across as flustered under direct there would be those who would say, oh look! he is being evasive and deceitful.....can't win for losing in some situations.

I can't imagine the judge allowing RC to testify considering that everything GA said to her is hear say and everything else goes to credibility of someone that is not on trial and only goes to statements attributed to JB with not a shred of evidence to even crack the door open. MOO

I'm not exactly sure I'd call it playing games...he's just keeping it simple which gives the DT nothing.

I don't believe GA. I believe he lied about the affair. "Comfort" and "console" are code words for sex. Especially for sex addicts who don't see it as an affair or a relationship it's purely physical for them.
He hesitated, hemmed and hawed. He may never said to RC verbatim "It was an accident that snowballed out of control." He might have said "it spiraled out of control" and therefore feels he isn't really lying.
GA likes to see himself as a hero who "consoled" a dying woman, when he was going over there for sex. I believe GA has a gambling problem, is a pathological liar and is a sex addict. The family is dysfunctional and the lies have lead to this fiasco.
It's possible GA hid CA's dead body because he feared ICA had dirt on him to blackmail him. Possibly molestation, child abuse on her or Caylee. Something is not right.

GA may be all of those things, but I in no way can see him tossing away Caylee's body in such a disrespectful manner.

I am floored. I thought RK was going to be a babbling mess. George needs to take lessons from Roy on how to testify.

Because the defense have accused him of vile things and smeared his name. He needs to be well prepped for his own safety. One innocuous elaboration or over explaining something, and Mason would probably slither in and ask questions in a way to insinuate Kronk killed Caylee, then played hide and seek with the body.

Witnesses need to be well prepared, even innocent ones.

My opinions...

Very good point Turnadot.

Not sure I would go that far but he does seem to be having some issues. Could be age and his obvious frustration with the defense/Casey in addition to the lack of organization and it sounds like he may have too many other cases http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/en...sey-anthony-cheney-masons-caseload-grows.html

Has anyone ever seen a trial like this ?! I have watched a few in my life but nothing, and I mean nothing like this, the DT, to me is so embarassing. I would be totally embarassed to have them.

Alot of things aren't right in this trial. If GA had an affair, ok bad decision but what in the world it has to do with Caylee's death is beyond me.

Because the woman GA allegedly had an affair with is claiming GA told her that Caylee died accidentally.

Too many to list now without intense review of his testimony today. It will come out later in the Kronk thread.

Thanks, will go to that thread. I certainly hope the defense or the state will point out these contradictions?

The thing is, the jury only hears what he says today.

IMHO, if I found myself in the middle of this kind of case, never having to testify before, I would hope some nice person would prep me and assist me in realizing just answer the question and don't embellish. When I get nervous I start to run at the mouth. I would be so frustrated they are implying something that wasn't the case. His attny could help him understand the SA is going to cross examine and ask questions that will clarify. I would hope that someone would do that for me.

Kelly

I had to testify once in defense of a police officer. I was his only witness and not prepped for testimony. The LE standing outside of the courtroom advised me about only answering yes or no. They advised me I didn't have to answer any question that couldn't be answered yes or no. The first question the crown attorney asked wasn't a yes no question. It wasn't even a question I could possible know the answer to so I just sat there looking at him and nobody said a word. After a few minutes staring me down, he asked a yes no question.

According to all the experts Caylee's body had been torn apart and spread through out those woods before Kronk ever stepped foot in them.
