Well said. Most of us, at one time or another, have been deceived by what (in my world) we call a "charming sociopath." Many of them are very bright and have mastered social skills that some of us do not have by nature. They may have such a collection of social skills that most people think of them as good people, as highly competent people. There's quite a list of them in the annals of true crime.

Another feature of such people is that the different people they get to know...may have very different views on them. This is a key element of the pathological strategy.

Sometimes it seems to me that these people view other people as game pieces, in a large chess-like game they think they are playing (and only they know the rules). They see themselves as "winning" this game.

Since one of my interests is "highly educated, smart people who kill or commit other severe infractions of the social order," I can say that this behavior is on a continuum. We have many examples of the worst sort on many threads right here on WS. Nothing worse, IMO, than a smart, criminally-minded person - unless it's one who also studies criminal justice and criminology (or similar fields).

These people build "trust" with one group of people while acting out in minor or major ways towards others. And while I emphasized "well-educated," there are obviously .plenty of people who are smart and charming sociopaths, but have not pursued higher ed. I just have a special interest in those who do get themselves into positions of trust based on their education.
 
My own observation of BK is that his expression never changes. You can see intelligence in his eyes but he wears a mask hiding his true thoughts. His lips change position occasionally but his expression doesn’t change. Most people would flinch or turn away from the camera or play to it. I’ve not seen him react. (Disclaimer. I haven’t studied photos of him in depth..just going from an observation having seen multiple photos of his court appearances and noting he doesn’t look a lot different.) JMO

Agree BK doesn't have a large expression range. I don't so much see intelligence in his eyes as I see dark, predatory type vibes. Even when I have seen his attempt to smile, it never reaches his eyes. o_O

That would just be another piece of circumstantial evidence that Mr. BK would have to explain away\ with all the other. At some point there is so much circumstantial evidence to add to the DNA evidence that a reasonable person would not think his explanations are plausable.

Do you have proof BK bought a bunch of cleaning supplies or is this just theory? I have not seen any evidence of this, so far.

Getting confusing. So there are 2 separate Motions to dismiss the indictment and both have GJ complaints.

What does this mean?

She made 2 different motions.

The first was a Motion to Dismiss Indictment on Grounds of Error in Grand Jury Instructions or in the Alternative Remand (send it back) for Preliminary Hearing, and was filed on July 25, 2023. (At that time, they asked for it to be dismissed; and if not dismissed, give them a prelim hearing). This is the one open to the public.



The other, Motion to Dismiss Indictment on Grounds of Biased Grand Jury, Inadmissible Evidence, Lack of Sufficient Evidence, and Prosecutorial Misconduct in Withholding Exculpatory Evidence, was filed on August 23, 2023. https://s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/...f-Biased-Grand-Jury-Inadmissible-Evidence.pdf
This second motion indicates "Mr. Kohberger raises twenty four (24) issues which are set forth in full in the Memorandum in Support of Motion to Dismiss Indictment and its attachments."

So, this second motion (which the court is hearing first) is based on sealed papers we never got to see and we still won't learn much because the hearing is closed.

So if the judge doesn't dismiss the indictment altogether, then the defense wants everything to go back to square one and hold a preliminary hearing.

I am so very glad she had the courage to do that.

Imagine living with the fact that your child was butchered so brutally and having to put up with the ensuing gaslight and sealioning from the defense of the suspected killer?

Day after day, week after week and month after month??

A killer who receives far more respect than all the dead children put together.

jmo ... this is what they've been angling for from the beginning. They want the state to lay out it's case. They want to cross examine witnesses. They want to have a mini trial with hopes that some fruit will come to bear.

However these concepts only have a limited elasticity, IMO.

If they're to become a feature of high profile crimes the entire justice system will become thwarted and so bent outa shape it will need to reinvent itself entirely.

Slip-slap one, you slip-slap them all because they are tainted and tainted cases disrespect the victims primarily.

The law can take care of itself, the victims never got that chance.
And they will be deprived of their fundamental rights as a result.

Suzanne and the 4 children will be left floating in the ethers without catharsis or salvation on a human level.

This is not justice and there is no way on earth it can ever be stretched into any concept of justice.
It's a mockery.

AT knows how indictments work and knew that taking 6 months to hold a preliminary hearing could result in plenty of time for prosecutors to launch a GJ indictment.

Doesn't make sense to make a big to-do in the press that BF has to come to court and has all this exonerating testimony and then back down and say, no, they can just take her statement she can ignore the subpoena.

Why not just take her statement to begin with? Why deliberately let the world think BF has exonerating evidence?

I don't trust AT. She is gaining maximum publicity.
