During the rope/sex/photo taking testimony very few jurors taking notes.

Except Dad, Neil and Maureen. I really can't see the rest of the front row but I'm sure tri color was all in to her note taking. The Stenographer.

Why does she call these "nooses"??? That's macabre.

The rope business is ridiculous. I was wishing he'd point out that 20 feet of rope would be WAY long to loop around that queen sized headboard. Her description of the cutting of it was ridiculous.

"purely decorative for the fantasy of it, right?" "yes". (wow)

"You asked him to stop and he did, right?"

JM has a huge stack of photos on his desk. He starts putting them up of T's bedroom.

I have tears spring to my eyes sitting behind Samantha and Aunt Heather as they bow their heads in anticipation of photos. It's heartbreaking. I closed my eyes to keep from bursting in to tears.

The photos are super glossy.

It's poignant looking at this well decorated, neat bedroom of T's. Looks like it's from a furniture showroom, folding screen, plants, gold walls, his furniture is NICE and it's not messy at all. Impressive for a man of his age and background.

Every time JA starts talking all these obsurdities come out of her mouth like being on the phone to a lot of people yet her battery was dead.

And seeing her license plate, getting it and tossing in back seat. Wouldn't you make sure it matches the one on back?

And you just have to love it when she is so judgmental...okay to kill and lie to detective but bad to cheat on taxes? Wonder if she has ever filed taxes?

There is something JM knows about her taxes that a sidebar was held about. I'm guessing she hasn't filed taxes in awhile ...he said something like "and Maam the last time you even filed was..." or something like that. Did you guys hear that?

Oh good the "knife in the bedroom" BS.

Media chuckling to " I'm sure I didn't say speculating while I was speculating"

He shows they took photos right after the "rope" but in photos no sign of rope.

JM turns to look at the stack of photos multiple times as he escalates this "bully" stuff. It's like he's a lion making sure his prey is still over there.

She called the camera a "phone" re: deleting shower pics. Did she also take pics with her phone?

There is something JM knows about her taxes that a sidebar was held about. I'm guessing she hasn't filed taxes in awhile ...he said something like "and Maam the last time you even filed was..." or something like that. Did you guys hear that?

Yes and Nurmi objected as to relevance. JM has so much information and that is why I don't understand anyone criticizing him for keeping her on the stand so long. Where does he begin and end?

She starts getting really cagey re: photo deletion and going downstairs. She does this when she knows he's up to something.

"That's the only shower you took that day, right?"

"Now we start with the memory gaps" It's good he kind of gave that entryway to her memory gap phase.

"you took a shower in the same place you placed his body after you killed him" "yes"

Most jurors in the back row not even turning their head much less their chair or body in her direction.

Just Maureen and red platforms.

Next to Samantha today was their brother in law. Their youngest sister's husband who are attending for the first time this week. She just had a baby.

JA joins her DT after court and is way more animated, talking w her hands and frankly I can't stomach looking at her for one more second.

After the jury leaves, JM requesting a 48 Hrs excerpt admitted that's been played before..moving in to evidence, no objection. Court to start 15 min early again tomorrow.

Judge asks counsel to approach "off the record" end of day.

And............that's it! We all kind of left then. Walked down with Travis' friend Julie whos here this week from UT...she looks and expresses being completely exhausted. But she will be in court again tomorrow (you've all seen her on tv...short blond spiky hair, she's a hoot really).

I'll be back tomorrow afternoon....pretty much everyone assumes he will take her through the crime tomorrow. Wonder how he 'll handle it. I'll get there as soon as I can to assure my seat. There were empty media seats today. Hopefully Nicole their VA is back tomorrow as she's more aggressive in procuring seats.

I heard that was well. I thought maybe I heard wrong. I do find it very telling. I wonder if it was with her Helio (gus's) phone or if she has another phone? Maybe one that is prepaid or trackless phone?
To me it was a very telling slip by her. It wouldnt surprise me if she has more pics some where else. Maybe even a video.

She was bored on the road so called a lot of people. Why would you do this when you had lost your charger and had limited battery power and no way to charge your phone?

Do any of you know whether there are or was phone records produced that she did speak with TA about arriving in Mesa? I was confused with her testimony about how many and when she spoke with him and JM did not produce records. Did he know she was coming that night to see him?

I did hear it and wonder if they will get back to that, you think? I'm assuming they will not and that it was barred during the sidebar. It's really irrelevant to the case itself, just more of the same that Jodi scammed everyone she knew in a use and abuse manner.

Thanks so much for your insights today! They were AWESOME and MUCH appreciated! My husband had been using my car and called me on his cell phone JUST as Jodi took the stand from the afternoon break. I answered & said, "I suppose NOW is the time you have chosen for us to pick up your work van from the mechanic?"

Needless to say, it was a quiet ride there and a speedy drive back. I only missed about 30 minutes! (I bought a WHITE car anticipating these occasions! ) :blushing:

Out of everything, my FAVORITE part: YOU got a smile from Juan Martinez! :razz:

Thanks again and tell Travis' family and friends they have support and prayers all the way from Alabama!

You know, that got me thinking. Maybe those of us attending in person are less affected by his aggression because you see him before and after court and sometimes on breaks coming over and interacting w/ the family. He's very relaxed, he smiles, he chats, he's warm, you see him in a different light. Maybe that has something to do with it. But dayum, he's focused when he's "on".


And ya know nurmi got all this slack from the same TH saying how this trial is a DP trial and someone's on trial for their life and how his behavior is theatre but that's ok blah blah blah.

Well guess what? This is LIFE AND DEATH for Juan Martinez too in the respect that someone's LIFE was TAKEN. And so he gets to be as passionate and aggressive and outraged as he wants to be. Believe me, he's on the front lines of and expressing the emotions of many many people in that courtroom. Including me.

You know I wondered if he would do that too. He didn't today. But remember, he still has a rebuttal case and he could recall phone records people if needed.

I'm so sorry to hijack this thread but I just can't help myself.... Katie and all you WSers representing, you're doing a great job. So insightful and much more informative than listening to the THs who know less about this case than we do.

Josie, I thought the shower response was huge!! She admitted to putting him there. AFTER forgetting everything that came after her shooting him. If her sketchy memory allowed that to filter through (<--sarcasm), what else will Juan get her to admit? I don't think she was even aware of what she said. Bombshell for sure!
