Baez can get " a big AHA ... now we understand moment " out of us when he doesn't show up :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Because he has already fled out the nearest exit as this ship is sinking fast.......JMO

"Dream on...Dream on....Dream Until Your Dreams Come True"
"You can't always get what you want..."
"I'm on the highway to hell...No stop signs, speed limit....Nobody's gonna slow me down"
"Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin'"

Come on you guys...anymore relevant lyrics? (hope I am not showing my age, much!)

Amnesia - either by drug induced (roofie) or a blow to the head.

ICA woke up one morning - couldn't remember. Did she even remember she had a child? Did she remember Caylee but didn't know where she left her? If she was "roofied" then did she know who? Was it TL? RM?

That fits only up to Caylee in the car and the smell. Why would she drive around like that if she didn't remember?

The only "Aha" moment for me would be the announcement of Paternity. I still find it strange that this death happened on that day. I think ICA has a lot of anger toward the father of this child; thus the death on Father's day...IMO.

and aha, big huge fight on Father's day between ICA, CA almost strangled ICA,
what else happened on Father's day?????

Why do I have the sneaky suspicion that Baez' AHA moment is going to go over like a lead balloon moment when the jury hears all the damning evidence against his client in this case. In my wildest flights of fantasy, I cannot think of even one scenerio that could show that KC is innocent.

Well, whatever it is, CM said that jaws are going to be dropping. The only thing I can come up with is that they are going to try to pin the crime on George. That wouldn't exactly be an "aha" moment for any of us here, though. I can't wait until the opening statements.

Aww.... you ruined such a wonderful start with a pretty mediocre punch-line (JMO).

A better one would be that he forgot to turn up lol. To use RHornsby's words that really would be "the Clueless" wonder striking again :rolling::rolling::rolling: :rolling::rolling::rolling::rolling: :rolling::rolling:

They couldn't have a witness who is going to testify to something that the prosecution would be totallly unaware of?

For example: a witness (not ICA) saying "Caylee Anthony? Oh yeah I saw her August 2008?"

That would be the only sort of "aha" moment I could think of that would truly be such. Highly unlikely that such testimony would be true but it would either be an "aha" moment or one of utter confusion (and with it reasonable doubt, or so the DT would argue).

Hi, uklaw! I didn't mean to imply that there was nothing else that could be an "aha" moment other than what I stated in my post above. I was just saying that was all I could think of, at the moment. The scenario you have described could very well happen. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

Not sure if here is where I should be posting this, but I just read an article that was linked in the news forum about the potential juror that tainted the jury pool -- the one that was also going to be called as a witness. I don't know how much stock can be placed in this, but the article states:

"The defense planned on calling Young as a witness during the trial to paint a picture of an aggressive George Anthony."

Now why would the DEFENSE want to paint George as an aggressive person? Things that make you go hmmmm....

I think she will blame her parents. Both of them.

They had Caylee, her dad told her he would pick the car up from Amscot ,he didnt he put Caylee in the trunk because Cindy killed Caylee. Then the car was towed and Casey wasnt worried because she thought her parents had Caylee and the car, because they take care of everything. Except Cindy has fits of rage and Caylee was hard to handle and Casey thinks her parents set her up and when she was made to leave tony's and go home they told her what to tell the cops, because they wanted to blame her only she didnt know that then they told her Caylee was alive and it was for a money scheme. But really they wanted to ruin Casey like she ruined them . She ruined their retirement years making them raise a baby doing what she wanted and stealing from them. Her parents hate her.
Her parents framed her. That why they asked her to lie about the nanny. and all those other things. Of course she doesnt know the details she wasnt arround but they did ask her to lie and they did have Caylee last.

I hope he knows no jury will buy this but I do think this is going to happen. Casey doesnt care about her parents at all and it motivated to only do things that benefit herself. He just needs reasonable doubt so that might be all he is aiming for. If he tosses enough crap in the air he is hoping some will stick to the ceiling.

Soulmagnet - that is about the only scenerio that will fit into an "AHA" moment.

All according to ICA:

ICA was sent on her merry way. GA and CA kept Caylee. ICA didn't look for Caylee for 31 days because she didn't know she was missing. Caylee was with her parents.

BUT even THAT won't hold water. ICA admits on the 911 call that her daughter has been missng for the past 31 days and she's been using "other means" to try to find her herself.

ICA could say that she was told to say that by CA and GA - but why continue a lie to cover for something that she had absolutely nothing to do with? Why sit in jail for 3 years and not spill it?

I've come to the conclusion that there is going to be no "AHA" moment. There can't be. We know too much and have paid attention.

ICA is done.

Regardless of what Ah-Ha moment Baez cooks up in his opening statement, he is going to have to back it up with evidence and witnesses if he wants to plant reasonable doubt in the minds of the jury. To the point that he may have to have ICA take the stand and withstand the slamming she will take with the examination from the prosecution.

Even as creative and inventive that I am, I can't come up with something exactly to cover for Casey. Even using George and/or Cindy.
I'll be there just like the rest of you, hanging on Baez's every phony word of his story.

I agree that this is a possibility. Either the parents or brother. Afterall, she's trying to keep them out of court during certain testimony right?

To be fair, it's likely jaws will be hitting floors if there is any kind of semblance of a defence, no matter what it is.

I can't think of anything that could explain both (1) why she didn't report Caylee missing for 31 days (and only then because she was forced to report it) and (2) why she has not come clean in all this time since.

Besides all the evidence against her and the ten ways from Sunday we can pick apart all the likely under-the-busers' involvement/complicity angle, there is simply no reason, if innocent, not to have told the truth by now, let LE protect her or anyone she claims was under threat of the "real" killer, and taken whatever lumps an innocent person would in this situation.

Remember how Geragos promised Peterson was "stone cold innocent" and he would prove it? Basically the same thing here...posturing for the benefit of potential jurors. With so much evidence against his client, Baez should be very careful what he promises. While what he says isn't evidence and the defense isn't required to prove anything, jurors aren't gonna forget if he feeds them a tale and doesn't deliver the goods to back it up.

So my prediction is that the "A-ha!" moment simply won't come (meaning there will be nothing he can say that will seem even remotely plausible to anyone who is familiar with the evidence the jurors will be hearing against his client).

They cannot blame Lee because , luckily for him, he was out of town for work during much of that time.

I think it always comes back to George. imoo

They'll have to use a more credible brush to paint with than this witness. Taking an interest in the case from day one and showing up with a sign to harass the so called grieving G-parents by protesting on their front yard is another. From listening to her interview, I don't believe for one second she only spoke to maybe 3 people and just made a passing reference to the case. She gossiped wildly IMO, to anyone who'd listen.
She wanted to be on the jury because she thinks ICA is guilty?? :loser:
So much for that DT witness LOL!

Lets face it, it's going to take JB 3 minutes just to greet the jury, strut around and crack his neck a few times before he realizes he doesn't remember his Aha script and has to return to the defense table to get it, then read it to the jury. Ahhhhhhh, ummmmmmmm, uh. :floorlaugh:
