Then, yes, that makes no sense. Has Chessie actually made a court appearance? Are her charges actually pending before a Mobile County Circuit Court? The can only think of a few things.

1. It was misreported and the acts took place in Mobile County.
2. The charges are, in fact, actually in Baldwin County but since she was in Mobile County, she had to be arrested by Mobile County Sheriff's, and was being held in Mobile County waiting for transfer to Baldwin County.
3. There are some other facts we don't know yet.
4. There is some law I'm not familiar with there or not thinking of that would allow the charges to be brought anywhere other than where the crime occurred.

In reading one of the MSM facebook pages, saw this right below the one on Chessie. I hope they at least question the guy about the Wood clan. Saraland is right in that vicinity and if the Woods were distributing at all, I wouldn't be surprised if he would know, even if he "claims" he never received any child *advertiser censored* from them.

I haven't looked up the Alabama law, but I would imagine just knowing about it and not turning it in would not lead to the same charges. It could get her charged as an accessory after the fact or with something like obstruction of justice but to be actually charged with those crimes means she had to somehow be a more active participant, even if, like I said before, she wasn't the one to insert whatever into whatever.

Had to bring my quote forward because I had inadvertently left a "not" out of it. It previously said "would lead to the same charges" when I meant to say "would NOT lead to the same charges." Sorry for that.

To clarify, I think she would have to be an active participant in some way to get the charges she got.

She appeared before Judge Hardesty this morning at 8 for her bond hearing.

Don't know if this has been posted. Bond set at $65,000. It was a Mobile County judge as well, so it appears that the charges are in Mobile County, not just the arrest.

It appears Judge Hardesty from Mobile and Judge Bishop from Baldwin have a difference in opinion on what an appropriate bond amount should be for the sex charges. WWH reduced to $25,000 and Chessie set at $65,000.

i believe they test when you're brought in. at least where i grew up they did (tid bits of knowledge thanks to family who couldn't put down a needle). but i don't know if ny does this because they offer methadone or if it's universal. anyone know?

Shortly after Brittney went missing, five Wood family members and one family friend were arrested in a child sex ring investigation in Baldwin County.

Chessie Wood has said from the beginning she thinks the sex crimes and her daughter's disappearance are connected.

Wood's husband spoke to our cameras after the hearing, saying that he believes someone is trying to get revenge on Wood. He said he believes it is all made up and he was going to get Wood an attorney to "get her through all of this".
