I may be wrong about this but I believe this cold all have been nipped in the bud at the jail, Obviously procedure was not followed, some one who is responsible for inmate activities or medical appointments dropped the ball could have been done on purpose, she could have help from a co worker.
I read that article you talked about.this guy is crazy. He is Definitely not taking meds.
This will probably end in a blaze of gun fire as he said he wants the cops to kill him . Suicide by cop

5 Blackhawk choppers flying around southern Alberta ... anybody hear anything about sightings in Canada? This is my neck of the woods ... we are about 2 hours north of the Canada Us border ... keeping my ears peeled. Moo
Locals are saying it’s a training exercise .... eek ... hope they’re right! I can’t imagine them coming to Canada ... but who knows?

Probably a silly thought, but I was hoping she may contact her mom today for mother's day

Definitely not a silly thought! For someone who appeared to be as close to her mom was Vicky was, IMO, it is definitely something one might wonder.

However, unfortunately, I don't think she did. Her poor mom. :( Can't imagine...

@BlueSky12
@BlueSky12 Ultimately, what I found is that people were referencing that at the William E Donaldson facility (where he’s permanently listed, but was temporarily moved from bc of trial prep), Casey White’s status was the most restricted level at the prison which is called “close.”

Here’s the link to enter his name or you’d like to see this: - Alabama Dept of Corrections

“Close status” is defined on the jail website as…The most restrictive custody level to which an inmate can be assigned. Inmates in this custody will be housed in a single cell in a close security institution. Movement outside the housing area requires that the inmate be restrained and accompanied by armed correctional personnel in accordance with Administrative Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.

Link to definition from the prison: - Alabama Dept of Corrections

I was not the original poster of this info so I don’t know if there were separate corroborating links to suggest he was in solitary, but I myself so not see his Close status as being exactly the same thing as solitary. But rather the most secure setup for confinement in a single cell.

I may poke around a bit more to see if any of the verbal interviews suggested he was in solitary.

SHU or seg units aren't really that different than the rest of the prison, especially in a local jail. Usually the same sized cell but single occupancy. You don't have a cellmate. Prisoners sent to the SHU usually have greater restrictions in terms of yard time and recreational opportunities outside their cell. "Close" confinement due to escape risk or violent tendencies would mean he'd only get an hour a day outside his single occupancy cell and would take his meals in his cell. Any yard time would be taken when the rest of the population was not out and about. His phone privileges would be very limited as well. Probably a phone call a week. Although he might've had an illegal cell phone thanks to VW.

Has anybody heard of the circumstances of his childhood or what led to his mental condition.
Events of life have away of changing the course of life

Way to find the specifics, @Bessdrewtwo. There’s no one better at remembering what is in the threads and finding it than you.

The earliest reference I’ve heard is about his high school days:

She does not address his childhood here, but his mom said that CW isn’t a monster.

I’ll ping you if I think of anything else.

Curious what you guys make of this quote from the article below:

“White once developed a close relationship with jail workers in a different Alabama county — long before he allegedly escaped prison and went on the run the former jail guard.”

It’s hard to believe that the jail would ever let a single person (male or female) escort this huge man alone on a trip even to courthouse. He could easily overcome a couple guards. He was in a solitary concrete jail cell. Extremely dangerous man with mental drug problems

AFAIK, Vicky was going against protocol and wasn't supposed to be doing that, but because of her authority, no one questioned her. JMO from what I've heard.

Are they suggesting he has a pattern of developing close ties with prison staff?

CW is unquestionably a loose cannon. The only way this will end well is if the authorities find their hideout and approach stealthily as they are sleeping. I fear this will end in death for someone, but I hope I am wrong. MOO

Glad it was a false alarm. I can't imagine them being in Canada either, unless they crossed the border illegally. I'm not sure how easy that is to do anymore. When I lived in Minnesota, there were a number of places places where it was possible to cross undetected if you knew where you were going, but that was a long time ago and it wouldn't surprise me if they've tightened security since then.

I imagine if they are both still alive, that they are sleeping in shifts, so that one person is awake and alert at all times. But I do agree with you...at most one person will make it out alive. I don't think Casey White will go back to jail/prison; he will die at his own hand before allowing that to happen.

Agreed about the river. Plus, how would you get supplies even if you docked only once a month? Wouldn't you need a car at a marina to go to town?

My sister used to work at a marina. Usually there is at least one store within walking distance. Or uber. Or the marina will have a bike boaters can borrow. Or someone who works at the marina will give the boaters a ride to a store when they need to re-provision. In my experience....

It's like a horseshoe road that has what appear to be basically private drive spurs off of it. Pretty comprehensive article with interviews and flyovers of the area linked below. Fairly sparsely populated. Difficult to see the houses on google maps because of tree cover.
The flyover in the Daily Mail article makes it seem like the SUV was abandoned on Banner-Adams at one of the intersections with Smithson. But the reports all say it was near the bus driver lady's home; which as indicated on the one map is back in near the V where you can either go back to the farm way back or turn back toward Smithson.

I was looking at Google maps earlier today about this. If you do street view with the little person figure standing amost exactly where that red pin is, look slightly SSW toward that house (use the zoom function), you can see a school bus parked there on the property. Anyway, that's just my random related comment. Lol.
