I don't believe the "breaking story" on the chloroform. When WFTV is the only news station to report this HUGE piece of evidence (well of course other than NG, who reports EVERYTHING that is ever said, IMO) then a big red flag goes up for me. I will wait until LE confirms or denies it. I doubt she made it anyway. I still think it was pool water from drowning her, heat from the trunk, and decomp of the body creating chloroform. I know it has been hashed and re-hashed but I firmly believe this is the case, based on my research. But, the missing piece is the levels that were actually found. Reports have widely varied.

I know, it's amazingly simple... Nope it's got to be stored in Glass, according to them...

I used to handle chloroform working as a dental nurse, and it definately needs to be stored in glass. The purpose its used for in dentistry is to melt down the plastic that the tooth is filled with when you get a root canal.
I made the mistake once of pouring it into a plastic container and it melted instantly.

Whoa! I've never heard it was used in dentistry, and I've worked for 3 dental offices. How long ago was this if you don't mind me asking?

Just a few years ago before I had my babies...and I worked in a few different surgeries over the years and they all used it.

AND DONT TRY IT AT HOME!!!!
That stuff really burns. One tiny drop on a patients lip and it just disolved the lip tissue....not pretty.

It seems everytime the Anthony's make a public appearance to sway public opinion, LE leaks a new fact. LEAK WARS. LOL! We will be sure to hear more this week. GO LE! Don't let them spread the smokescreen over anyone's eyes. Wow! I can't wait to hear more about this "making" of chloroform search on the computer...lets just hope this isn't a WFTV letdown.

Just saw this and ITA!!! Was thinking the exact same thing!

Leak wars....LOL.

Interestingly enough, I was down in my basement late last night after everyone was asleep (winter smoking spot) and I noticed on my shelves with the paint and such... A can of Acetone and a bottle of bleach. They were sitting right next to each other. Pure Karma there cause I was just watching NG and she showed the same Google site I posted earlier in this thread. Needless to say, I moved the bleach over on the washing machine, no sense in taking any chances. But I was thinking I should go outside and try making it when the kids are at school and I am alone. Do you think it's dangerous to make it outside alone? I mean I dont wanna blow myself up or kill myself????

I wouldn't mess with it.

I have seen on TV cases of death by poisoning was solved by cutting the hair’s of the person in ½ inch (I think ½ inch) and dissolving the hair and testing for chemicals. They can tell how long someone has been ingesting a drug or poison. This being said. I wonder if chloroform can be detected in the hair? I hope they take a hair of Caylee’s and test it for chemicals. I also think they should test KC hair to see if she has ingested chloroform or any other drug since her child has been missing.

QUESTION:

Is there any innocent reason someone would make chloroform at home? Really curious about that.

I was just thinking that if she was stupid enough to do searches on chloroform on her computer...She might very well have done some other interesting searches as well. LE released the chloroform, escort and missing children searches as part of the child negligence charge...I wonder if there is more that will come out as part of the murder charge!

Completely a guess on my part but if the dose that killed her was the first dose, it basically causes an immediate cardiac arrest. I don't think it would have time to be processed to the hair in that scenario.

I agree with that If it was the first time, but someone in her group of friends had something on myspace about chloroform and sex. Also, some people on here have thought it was possible she had been drugging Caylee and leaving her in the car at night. If that's the case testing the hair would show how often and how many months back it has been happening.

That is true. Chloroform only knocks you out for 10-15 minutes though, so I personally doubt that was its use. I do hope they test her hair for xanax though.

Thank you for your informative posts Bev but i differ with you on one point and that is using chloroform to drug Amy in order to change her pants does make sense in that the different pants serve to convince Amy that she may have indeed sleepwalked and enables her to put more faith in trusting Casey. Was chloroform actually needed to prevent Amy from waking up is unknown.

If someone is chloroformed wouldn't the smell/experience of it continue to linger in the senses for many hours. It is an unforgetable smell and may also produce nausea.

I can understand why she wouldnt buy it... I just googled Making chloroform and it's very easy...Im shocked there arent more deaths by this material

Both materials are available anywhere...MATERIALS
-BLEACH OR POOL SHOCK (LIQUID)
-ACETONE (NOT NAIL POLISH REMOVER)
-ICE!! LOTS AND LOTS OF ICE.
EQUIPMENT
-MISC. GLASSWARE

But the fumes would be in the house and how would she contain it. Sorry but I don't think she is that clever or technically sophisticated . Where would she have made this in her mother's kitchen, with household pots and pans?

That is crazy! I can't believe they can use stuff like that. Scary.

I should add that there was only one incident like that in the 11 yrs I worked as a dental nurse.
And we never used it to knock out pt's or anything, just to disolve the g.p points if someone had had a dodgy root canal.
We used it maybe every 2-3 weeks.

Does anyone think Casey ever used it on one of her parents w/o their knowledge? Like while they were asleep already?
