There is also a comment on the Find Beverly page that 2 neighbors also saw a silver car in the drive, first pulled in then later backed in and at one point Beverly's car, the truck and the silver car were there at the same time. If this is true it certainly puts a spin into things. As close as the houses are, I have no doubt a neighbor would have seen other vehicles there.I guess my question is, why isnt LE asking the publics help in locating this truck/car or whatever was saw in the drive?

I sure don't like the fact that the one car backed in at some point...possibly to put something or someone in the trunk?

"Okland was found inside a model home in West Des Moines, Iowa, last week after being shot by an unknown assailant. The victim is one of more than a hundred in the real estate profession who have been killed on the job since the foreclosure mess began in 2008.

"A real estate agent makes a living meeting a complete stranger in an empty home," says Tracey Hawkins, owner and safety product speaker at Safety and Security Source.

The recent recession hasn't improved safety as agents show properties much more often to make a sale and visit rougher areas for distressed or abandoned properties.

"Agents may encounter squatters, angry former homeowners or even encounter abandoned pets that may be aggressive," says Hawkins. "These properties are often meth labs, or pot houses, and encroaching upon them is dangerous."

To keep agents safer, Hawkins created a program for selling foreclosed, real estate owned (REOs) and abandoned homes called Real Estate Agent Safety for Distress Properties."

The only the other explanation for those texts: if they were forwarded from her that were originally from the supposed client. If they were, than maybe that was her way of of saying something was up. If she wasn't a drinker, she could have text the individual asking if they were on their way and they text back saying "yes" and then explained they had bad reception and were currently partying.

One of the agents in my office went to a house to meet a man about 5 years ago, the man was backed up under the carport at the vacant house. When she got out of her car he exited his vehicle naked. She of course got back in the car and drove as well as calling the police. The man was later arrested after doing this to several area Realtors. While it is great to speculate on all avenues I for one thoroughly believe this was some one targetting her as a Realtor, probably fantazing about her for awhile beforehand.

No, Willow Beach is the one in Scott. Willow Springs is a water park in Little Rock that just reopened after being closed because of an amoeba. At Willow Beach, you can camp, fish, picnic, etc. I don't recall ever swimming there.

Ugh. We live in such a sick world. :(

I can see someone doing this pretty easily and being caught off guard. ( the realtor) I was in a home not too long ago and they were moving and left me there to do the work and never showed back up. They left me there with all their crap and didn't care. There was one way out.. the door and no people showed up to pay me. I will never do it again.. ever. If people want a price reduction.. they can call the bank. I wonder if the same principal is applied to three and half hours away. These people are not from Russellville by the way but have the same mind set. Saying that. I would think the perp has done this before in one way or another. If there was a perp, they would have a record of non-payment.

Im kind of surprised there hasnt been a break in this case. Her husband reported his missing really quick vs most of the time they arent reported for 24-48 hours. There just about has to be an electronic trail to this potential buyer somewhere. Granted, they have had one business day (Friday) and I dont know how long it takes LE to get a subpoena to get her records. I think a judge would sign it immediately but not sure how fast the cell company etc would take to get this stuff to LE.

I hope LE looks at people who viewed this listing previously...maybe someone pre planned this and viewed the property to scope it out.

Im confused, non-payment for what? Realtors do not get paid to show houses.

I'm a realtor and wouldn't ever get into a client's car unless I knew them well. As experienced as Beverly was, I can't imagine that she would either. I do frequently leave my purse (locked) in the car, but take in my keys, a clipboard with information, and always my cell phone. Also, if I'm not familiar enough with the client(s), I call my husband and describe the person/people and the vehicle when I arrive. After hearing of this tragic event, though, from now on I'll snap a picture of the car as well. I do carry a pistol in my car, but since this has happened with Beverly, we're purchasing a smaller handgun this week that will be with me at all times when showing a vacant home or working with an unfamiliar client. I'm a very trusting person, generally speaking, but it only takes one evil act, and it's just too great of a risk not to be safe rather than sorry.

I was talking about my own experience and the mind-set of an individual doing this. There is no reciprocation, here. And there isn't, clearly. That is why I said "non-payment" and simply not caring.. or "no compassion." IMO.. I think this individual has paper trail of not paying. or cheap-- A cash buyer for a discount, yada. yada.

Welcome to WS, and good for you! Glad to read you're taking extra precautions after reading about Beverly.

Ugh. We live in such a sick world. :(

Yes we do , as a realtor I had a phone stalker calling from a blocked #. I notified the police, took in my phone records The cell co. helped me figure out he had a prepaid phone with a Texas #. The police were not much help. One day my dh answered and told him offf, read out his cell #, and the city he bought it in, the guy never called back.
I routinely get weird or obscene fb messages on my business page (got one today even) . I just delete them, no way to block them from a public business page..I normally dont tell people about them either.

Wow..... :(

I realize how impractical it may be for a realtor to always have someone they know with them at showings, but after this case and all the creepy stories I've read on here of things that happen, I practically feel like these poor realtors need a bodyguard! Kidding...but not so much. ;)
