An update to the story about the leg found in Bois de Vincennes (near Paris) on June 8th. They found the torso. Head missing.

http://www.20minutes.fr/article/954331/torse-humain-retrouve-bois-vincennes#commentaires

~n/t~ given that Magnotta was in Paris during the period prior to the body parts first being discovered in the Bois de Vincennes and the fact that in general terms it fits his MO, it would certainly peak one's curiosity to find a connection between Magnotta and these human remains.

It is key to note that the article states "human torso cut in the legs and head, was found badly decomposed". Additionally, in reviewing the weather for that section of Paris between May 26 (Magnotta arrival) - June 15 (decomposed remains discovered), the average high temperature circa 70-farenheit (21-celcius) and average low temperature was circa 55-farenheit (12.7-celecius) with no measured precipitation during that period.

Given those factors, could a torso placed after May 26 become "badly decomposed" by June 15?

Lin Jun worked very close to Magnotta's apartment complex

Is it known that Lin was working somewhere else apart from the depanneur in Verdun? Because that area is not "very close" to the Snowdon district where LM lived.

Connection to the missing puppy?

This is cached info from Google, so I wasn't able to track down a date. Also my french is not the best, so perhaps someone else can be of more assistance.

For some of you who still think that LM is schizophrenic....

http://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx31.htm

As I have said before, I had a family member, my mother-in-law who was afflicted with the above for most of her late teen and adult life, and the fact that I have seen in the past what transpired when she decided to listen to her sister and stop talking her medication, I still strongly, JMOO, say that ML is not affllicted by schizophrenia, not any of the various types out there. If he was there is no way he could have devised what he has nor been able to think out the process of this murder, or dispursing the body parts, fleeing the country etc.

Yes, he says another person is framing him. Most schizophrenics will also think something or someone is out to get them BUT the something or someone is totally irrational and doesn't make any sense as the above article mentions. The youngest of my mother-in-laws children, so my brother-in-law was also diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was 19. When schizophrenia first reared it's head in his life, he would be driving down the highway here and think he was hearing radio transmissions when he wasn't even near or radio nor had it on. He said he could hear voices from the overhead powerllines, etc. etc. There is no way LM has those kinds of symptoms. Yes, we have been told he use to bang his head in the shower but that could have to do with the psychopathic anger he seemed to try and keep in check. He may be many but schizophrenia is not one of the things he suffers from.

<modsnip> There isn't a universal mode for schizophrenia and there's no telling what he had. There's evidence he suffered from bipolar disorder and took medication that's been linked to resulting in schizophrenia. No one can rule out schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder without conducting a psychiatric evaluation.

It's true the majority of schizophrenics aren't criminals, or violent, but some are, just like normal people, and if they have a problem with drug and alcohol abuse, then they're especially prone to violence. Men with schizophrenia or other psychoses are typically four to five times as likely to commit a violent act as men in the general population.

http://bjp.rcpsych.org/content/180/6/490.full

Serious violence among schizophrenics is associated with depressive symptoms, behavior problems in childhood, and having been victimized, physically or sexually. Magnotta went through all of that.

<modsnip> schizophrenics who live with their families and feel their families "listened to them most of the time" have half the rate of violence of those living alone or with less supportive families.

Duke University published a very interesting study about this: A national study of violent behavior in persons with schizophrenia

To the side, in that link, there are some other very good studies on the subject.

I'm working on a blog that will timeline Luka Magnotta's online activities leading up to his trial ... I am creating it under his name (it is registered as a non profit website) ... there will be no video or gruesome pics of this crimes on the site.

When the trial starts ... I will update it daily with as much trial info that I can.

Unfortunately, perpetrators of animal cruelty in Canada rarely even get the maximum penalty of $2,000 and/or 6 months in jail.

http://www.duhaime.org/LegalResources/criminallaw/lawarticle-135/animal-cruelty-law-canada.aspx

That's unfortunate. I think the laws need to change here in the States and Canada.
No wonder psychopaths practice on animals they do not fear the reprisal. It's a slap on the wrist. You can be put away for 20 years for smoking a joint. Things are backwards.

My understanding is it all depends on weather (temperature). Not sure how hot it was in Paris but I doubt it was Arizona climate. In my non expert opinion, I don't think 2 weeks (the leg found June 8th. was also described as decomposed) would cause the body to decompose that quickly.

Probably unrelated but still creepy. Is there another "Luka Magnotta" in Paris?

How do you know what Magnotta has?

My personal OPINION, which I believe we are all entitled to, (based on LM's behaviour and only looking at the way he acted in this murder, not adding anything else) still stands for ME, based on my first hand personal experience, over the last 35 years, with two individuals with this affliction and having seen their repeated episodes (of these two individuals) when on medication and off medication. We will just agree to disagree :).

Did he snip it to ten minutes so that it could be spread via youtube, as per their ten minute rule?

Could have been one of the people he met whilst there?

just found this by searching google images for Lin Jun. I hope it is okay to post here. Looks beautiful!

Above 'BOLDING' by smart blonde.

Yes, I believe a corpse exposed to the elements would decompose rather rapidly in twenty days.

novaspy regarding your post: I won't quote it because I'm not sure we can post tweets from anybody but the media.

I went as far back as May 17th. and this individual doesn't mention the accused in his tweets. He does refer to someone as (explicit words) which may be the accused but it's hard to say.

He's very much into sports and rap music. I'm guessing a university student because he mentions a course he's having difficulty with

WARNING! GRAPHIC!

maybe he became frustrated at some points and stopped filming. like not realizing how hard it was to cut the bone and actually sever the limb

BBM

Possible, not probable because if we attempt to look at it through the eyes of Magnotta the purpose of the film is not so much murder but Magnotta living out his most titillating sexual conquest (for someone without outward feelings, this is where all his feelings and sexual lust, yearning begin to shine). This sexual conquest not only includes the necrophilia, the dismembering of a corpse (I believe he viewed the victim not as a person, rather a corpse much like the ones he wrote so lovingly of in his blog posts), the cannibalism and the other acts he committed. In his mind he was filming his personal perfect pornographic film starring his favorite person. He would view this unedited, raw version for his own sexual purposes in solo acts.

At the same time, he was also using what he viewed as his perfect pornographic creation to share with others; the majority of whom he would shock and a small minority who might idolize him. He released the edited version with a shocking headline for the purpose of purely shocking people and included his name for the purpose of saying "I told you so" to those who thought he was all talk and someone not to be taken seriously.

He never wanted to get caught; he was never charged for the kitten videos and the other horrific acts he documented, he figured that the garbage men would pick up the luggage on Friday and it would be weeks before there was evidence that could solidly connect him to this horrific crime (in the interim he likely planned on utilizing his army of online personalities to convince the world that the video was faked and he, the killer, would point out how the images were not to be believed).

By the time Mr Lin Jun's remains were found in a garbage dump and Magnotta was solidly connected to the crime, he would be long gone and have already developed a new persona in a new country. But his yearning for the spotlight would drive him to step back into his prior life as Luka Magnotta and release the 15 minute version of the video to once again traumatize the victim's family, the viewers and sensationalize his greatest accomplishment one last time.

After releasing the 15 minute version he would step back into his newly created identity and live as though he'd never heard of Luka Magnotta. He'd develop the new personality in a new place where he was unknown and might be something. He'd utilize all his previous tricks to attempt to get notoriety in his community until he was once again shunned and the cycle of horror would re-emerge under his new identity.

Monsters don't have feelings for anything or anyone outside of fulfilling their own needs. Monsters don't care about the victim and frankly don't view these individuals as victims. Monsters can forget about the past and focus on making their own star shine anywhere. As we know from childhood, Monsters live in the dark and hide in the closets and under the beds of the innocent. Luka Rocco Magnotta is a monster whose own fulfillment is the only thing that matters and can adopt & adapt himself to try to fit into society, but monsters can never fit in and when the monster fails at his effort to fit in among the masses he only re-emerges with a greater vengeance and a unprecedented yearning to fulfill his own needs by any means possible.

I thought I recall reading that Kankan Huang's Montreal convenience store where Lin Jun worked was close to Magnotta's apartment complex.

I could be wrong but I recall a Gazette article which alluded to the possibility that their paths may have crossed at the store.

Speaking of monsters, some fit into society quite nicely (even flying our Prime Minister and high-ranking MPs around the world) and are never suspected. The only reason Russell Williams got caught was because an alert cop remembered seeing a vehicle in a field and they later matched his tire tracks via a roadside checkpoint.

He continues to this day to feel absolutely no remorse for his victims:

Thanks ~n/t~ and smart blonde. I honestly didn't know the answer, just wanted to lay out the facts and factors and get the those more informed about decomp than myself; you both did just that-- thank you!
