It's not working but thanks for trying bearbear.
I was finally able to read the article posted earlier after I cleared my cookies. It's a good comprehensive article, worth a read for sure.

ok, thats annoying, im glad i read it, i still have the page open and could copy it here but probably not allowed because of the paywall? i know once i close the page ill lose it, hopefully another paper has the story tomorrow?

The Image you have posted here is where the video starts, I suggest the suitcase is in the next google earth image at 4.05 in the video, somewhere along that stretch,
however, I never expected to generate this kind of interest and I think I need to have another look at the footage and try pin it down a bit closer.

I can't see what others have posted back to you...as this dam puter is being a right royal pain up the arse at the moment ...But please stick around Shaun .... you may not be aware of what you can add to this forum... but you have local Knowledge...local to Adelaide that a great many of us don't. Websleuths members have been able to assist cases. We have been able to help on this case ... someone clever here will post the links to the articles (sorry guys - putters being a pain).. Brainstorming is what it's about..

i still have the andrew rule article open, shall i copy it here? or is it against ws rules? its pretty long but interesting, once i close the page ill lose it.

Bearbear, as this article is behind a paywall it's against Websleuth's TOS to copy and paste from it. Are you able to paraphrase from the article and include the link? That would be a great help.

There is no issue with mobile phone coverage in that area.
In fact, along all major transport routes in Australia, mobile phone coverage is great.
So is TV reception.
Wynarka is a very small place but hardly isolated, being 30 mins form a large town and 1.5 hrs drive from the capital.
And there is no sea nearby so nobody is living in boats there.

Was it the same in 2008?

the links dont seem to work but ive copied it onto my computer notebook so if its not available tomorrow i can try to paraphrase.

Take a look at these two pictures of the police talking to the quilt store owner. You can see that she is showing him the cats fabric, which is by Timeless Treasures Fabrics Co, the same company that made the camel fabric and the star fabric.

Does that tell us that the quilt also has a cats fabric? Or is she trying to find the Teddy Time print by Nutex, and that is the best she can match?

In any case, we know that she sells the Timeless Treasures Fabric line, even if she never sold the camel print. Did she have fabric sample books that ended up in this quilt?

Cat fabric https://www.etsy.com/listing/241038...meless treasures cat fabric&ref=sr_gallery_14

Camel print is "Sphinx" by Timeless Treasures
"Teddy Time" by Timeless Treasures.
Music note fabric is by Shamash and Sons, possibly named "Jazz".
The dragonflies prints are made by Inprint Makower
The "Goofy Geckos" is made by Exclusively Quilters.
The pumpkin gingham is possibly vintage.

Great post, listing all the fabrics and who made them

WYNARKA township has about eight permanent residents. Early one autumn morning this year, roughly a quarter of the population — Denise Edwards and Monica Martin — were walking their dogs when they saw something that stuck in their minds.
It was a man, aged about 60, walking briskly up the main street towards the Karoonda highway that links Wynarka with the world, or at least with Murray Bridge.
The man was average height, lightly built and neat looking, with short grey hair. He was a complete stranger to both women, who are locals bred and born and tend not to mix with the “blow ins” who appeared in the district chasing cheap rent when the permanent community started shrinking a generation ago.

BBM. So there are strangers in the area. Presumably they're commuting to somewhere else to work. But where would that be?

The article by Andrew Rule will be in the Sunday edition of the Herald Sun .... I'm one of those boring people who still reads the newspaper ... they advertised it today as a "Teaser" for tomorrow.

If this child was indeed Bashed to death we are looking at one sick sadistic individual, most likely one with substance abuse issues and I have no doubt already has previous arrests for violence .. DV.

Is there anyway we can track down Past AVO's ... Intervention orders issued in or around the town??

That's why I think that he is either not the biological father of the child (he could be caught if the DNA profile of the little girl points at him). And he knows he is not the biological father.

Or the remains have been left there by someone who had nothing to do with her death.

It's actually really hard to figure out if Wynarka does have a Post Office or not.
The official Australia Post site states:

[h=3]Wynarka CPA 0.16kms[/h]8 Railway Terrace Wynarka SA 5306
(08) 8578 9029

[h=4]Opening hours*[/h]
  • Mon - Fri8:00am - 10:30am
  • Sat - SunClosed

Clearly not a PO.

This property looks like a PO and is opposite the phone booth, but when it was for sale in 2010 when this image was taken, it didn't look like it was opperationl as one.

I have tried enlarging and sharpening the for sale sign but I can't make out what it says.

There does appear to be a transport business down the road, but that's about all.
It's a picture of the inside of the house here is a link. I thought it looked familiar to me . Hope this helps .

If you right click, the menu will give you the option to open the pic in a new tab. If something goes wrong, you can just get rid of the new tab. It worked for me when I opened it up in a new tab.

I''ll give it a go.

Says over previous weeks people had seen the suitcase but it was only when the motorist saw it and spotted the small jawbone that others had missed and when the police arrived they found the rest of the skeleton.
Contents of the suitcase were stained and rotting.

No news on getting a dna sample.
And they think the offender is in the state and likely close by.

Fractures indicate being bashed to death :(

I don't see it transprting very well if the contents were spewing, do you think it was there all along, but covered by something?

What are you referring to browneyedsusan?

If you download Maxthon Browser which does work through internet explorer, there is an option to coppy an image you look at on screen even if it's just a recipe, or it will copy the whole page and then you just enlarge the photo in windows pictures with that slide ruler picture option at the bottom. It will up at the top of Maxthon looking like a mini camera. You can also look into the menu by clicking on the gruoping of 3 straight lines. At the very end of the visible toolbar on the browser, That could help a lot of people. As far as I know, Only Maxthon browser has it.

I agree with you, i have a flight case the same size and roughly the same age i bought it in 2006 i think?, It was sat outside my dads garden shed for atleast a year and a half in all sorts of weather with tools in it. During winter it was completely covered with clover, you couldn't even see it in the grass. During summer it had full sun on it. And it looks no where near as rough as the case found. Different materials will be degrade quicker but anyway you can have a look, i pulled it out my shed where its been for the last year and took some snaps of it for comparison.

I'm wondering if the suitcase or the contents have been covered with a white substance, maybe something used in gardening (vegetable garden or agricultural). Some lime like or chalky stuff (sorry don't know how it's called chemically in English).. Something to dry out the contents and kept it from smelling. And that that's what made the suitcase look so old and beaten up.

In ShaunO's video, 'the suitcase' looks much brighter (whitish). But if I remember wel, it started raining heavily right after Shaun made the video?
