The ABC article has been updated to say that the police have finished their search, 'seizing items from inside', and EP has now been, in their words, 'escorted' to Wonthaggi Police Station for an interview.

There is a pic here of EP and her lawyers arriving at the back door of the Wonthaggi Police Station this afternoon, just after 2:30pm.

I hope that she gets a fair trial if she is charged (and, indeed, does go to trial). The media scrutiny has been so intense that I worry how jury selection will be undertaken. Maybe I'm thinking too deeply into things, but in any case, we will see what transpires today, if anything more does indeed happen. The interview could take quite a while.

Absolutely. A fair trial is an inalienable right, no matter how heinous the crime.

Today's "fishing expedition" with no charges laid suggests a lack of hard evidence.

I was more wondering if it is a case of "Erin, we can charge you with murder, or we can charge you with manslaughter. It is up to you. Tell us what happened."

I guess we will see how long the interview goes. If it is short, they don't have enough to hold her. Her lawyers will just say "come on Erin, let's go." imo

If the Police were lacking sufficient evidence and thought there was even a remote possibility of gaining further evidence then they would’ve kept their powder dry.

They are in no hurry, the priority is a powerful and convincing brief of evidence, sufficient to rebut any suggestion of reasonable doubt.

The fact that they acted today and invested such resources into the raid on Erin’s house suggests to me that her goose wellington is cooked.

All IMHO

Yeah, I interpreted the sweep of the house is making sure that they (the police) have all their ducks in a row, so to speak, and possibly having evidence that they could mention in her interview. MOO

Yes, and perhaps signals intelligence or forensic examination of the computers and other electronic devices they seized previously alerted them to the existence of other devices, peripherals or external storage devices they’d been connected to or communicated with.

This is my take on things: Take it or leave it. Vic Police and/or AFP have been diligently gathering enough evidence to obtain a warrant for Erin’s arrest and the search of her property/properties. IMO

Once they had that in place and the Warrant was granted, they went in and obtained more items of interest and evidence to assist in supporting a conviction.

She may or may not have been charged today. We don’t know.

Jmo

My best guess is that they will charge her with premeditated murder.

Imo

Note/ Erin Patterson may be completely innocent of any crime.

My heart goes out to the family whom have lost 3 loved ones, and of course to Ian who has been through so much. Life is truly so unfair.

Mushroom chef's Facebook messages leak: Erin Patterson rips into her husband Simon and shares a scathing verdict about locals in her small town of Korumburra as details emerge about her career for the first time

This article was back in Sept, I'm not sure if this has been posted but it's an interesting read.
