Joanne Ratcliff, Kirsty gordon, louise Bell (that frightened me was her age at the time) Yep we are a little strange in this most blessed city of churches lol

If it is Jap I can only think of KIA in Nuri, am not there much. Tanunda? shesh got me on that one, can't even think what's there except for ford.

Ops Holden not ford

There is a Nissan dealer in Nuri and from memory that dealer was/still is also Daewoo.
Tanunda there is Holden, Ford, Honda, Toyota.

I thought, based on another post (namely the one about the son inlaw - can't remember the poster's tag - sorry) that he worked out of town too, can't remember if this is correct but I thought the MIL said something that made me think the trip to police station from work took about 20mins. If the scenario she described about the SIL being asked to take the accused to the police station to sign a statement etc was accurate

Some reports have said the man was arrested at the police station, whereas others have said police went to his house.

Hard to know what to believe.

Maybe that's why we are known as The city of churches, because everyone in in them confessing their sins...lol....

If I recall someone said that he used the term machanic (however his spelling was) because he works on Mack trucks so I am thinking Nuriootpa because its along the Sturt Highway.

I read that too (machanic) - so looking for a diesel specialist

Missus g ( you need shorter nick lol) I think he will, eventually, but only when he has to, to show remorse(it is hard to show remorse when some hard assed lawyer is saying shut the f up etc) But he is doing it for a reason, and that reason is, the performance of his life is only required once, in front of a jury. All the other stuff in all honesty is trivial. They are the only people on this earth anyone needs to convince (on behalf of us peers...) So I expect he will do what he is told to do by those who have taken a somewhat authoritative but legally consciousness ? take on his situation. To put it simply (unless he is silly enough to represent himself) he is at the mercy of his legal advisers (whom I bet have been clamouring to offer their services.) Mark my works this will be the biggest trial in oz for a long long time

(Just call me Gyp, it's easier!) Agree....did you see the lawyer identified upthread? http://www.adelaide-criminallawyer.com.au/ worked at undoing SA's bikie laws..so he's picked a good one, or a good one picked him.

Just throwing a theory out to you guys/gals. Please keep in mind that this is pure speculation

Do you think it's possible that the parents were not initially at home but came home later? I saw an unconfirmed rumour on the net that this may have been the case and it got me thinking.

1. In the early news reports it stated that the police were able to determine Chanetelle's movements that night, but they were unable to confirm the parents. If the parents had been at home all night then surely they would have been able to tell? Why were they asking for information on the parents movements that evening?

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/rowe-...-frenzied-attack/story-e6frea6u-1225953170080
We are trying to establish if the parents went out again after they arrived home that morning. We want to hear from anyone who may have seen them or Chantelle that day, either at home or out and about," Supt Moyle said

2. Many of us have questioned the ability for a thin and lanky boy to kill 3 people without arousing the suspicion of neighbours and/or one of the victims being able to escape.

3. Apparently Chantelle was the target and suffered the most severe and prolonged attack of the three victims. The killer spent more time with her in what appears to be a sustained attack. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...ore-than-parents/story-e6frg6nf-1225952928675

The crime scene was also apparently one of the worst crime scenes in decades and made officers visibly baulk upon entering the site. To me this indicates that it wasn't just a simple stabbing, but i could be reading too much into it (the media does have a penchant for uversensationalising things afterall)

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/na...da-triple-murder/story-e6frf7l6-1225952952751

Considering that she was the killers target it seems plausable that she would have been the first victim. If the parents were home then surely the attack on her would have been cut short and the killer would not have been able to spend a prolonged amount of time with her? He could have gone back to her after killing the parents, but this seems like a rage killing and doing so just doesn't seem to fit.

If the parents were killed first then Chantelle surely would have been aware of it and had time to flee or do something. According to the nighbour he heard the mother screaming, followed by a male voice screeming (I have seen it posted here that it was the mother screaming but havent found an article stating it - only that he heard a woman screaming. So this could just be rumour). If at this stage Chantelle was still alive then it would have given her opportunity to flee or do something.

4. Back on the topic of the neighbour, he heard two screams. One female one male. Surely if all three had been killed at the same time then there would have been screems from all three of them? Perhaps he didn't hear the screams of Chantelle because it happened earlier in the night?

5. There are rumours that the killer may have been in the house for up to an hour. I dont know how accurate these rumours are, it could just be a case of an incorrect understanding of the original police estimation of time of death. But if it is the case then it would support the theory that the parents wern't initially home at the time.

6. It has been confirmed that there is an additional charge against the accused, although this charge has been suppressed. http://www.barossaherald.com.au/new...funeral-date-for-kapunda-victims/2005513.aspx

We can take a guess at what it might be though. If that guess is correct then the parents not being home would make sense.

Anyway thats my theory for the evening :)

I am curious how this high profile bikie-defending lawyer came to be defending this case.

SPECULATION FOLLOWS

Suppose the accused is being used as a scape-goat.

Right at the very begining, people proposed a bikie link to the family. The Harley in the backyard seemed to add to this speculation.

What if the bikies have assisted by getting this top lawyer (who has recently worked for them) in because they know the accused could be convicted on circumstantial evidence.

From what I recall the neighbour heard a woman screaming for help. Then a loud bang followed by a man yelling.

It was assumed in an earlier thread, that the mother is likely to be the woman that was heard screaming as Chantelle had croup, which may have reduced her ability to scream.

The lawyer could be intentionally seeking out these high profiles cases to raise their own profile and/or for the challenge.

That croup story has interested me from the beginning.
I wonder first, why she called it croup.
She had held a party the previous night, so she only got sick on Sunday.
I doubt she went to the doctor on a Sunday to get a diagnosis.
So why call it croup and not just a sore throat.

I also wonder why she told her boss she would not be in on Monday.
She sent the SMS around midday on Sunday.
Whatever was wrong with her, wouldn't most ppl her age assume she would feel better soon and may be well for work the next day?

I find that doubly strange because it was her first full-time job. She left school to start that job. She had only worked there for a week. Why risk her new job by saying she was sick 22 hours before she was due to work again?

Could be.

They are pretty versatile though, aren't they?

The bikie case called for experience in consiutional law. this one is criminal law.

Don't lawyers usually specialise?

Given the abundance of cameras these days and digital photos, camera phones etc, photos are very common. In the early days of the case I wondered why the was not one photo of the parents. The one they have shown is very old.

When I was at school we had a friend who used to always say she had croup - she usually just had some kind of cold, I think she thought it was *cuter or rarer* to call it croup. It's more interesting than saying I have the flu or a cold.

3 schools in 3 years, I'd say she may not have had a very strong work ethic perhaps?

Did she sit home alone all day Sunday? Were there any posts on facebook? There seems to be no info on who the rowes spent Sunday with.
