I was able to capture the streaming video, and edit it so that it played at an agonizingly slow rate.
I am working on posting here.

At one point, bh walks ahead of Jill and as he is doing so, it looks like he reaches into his hoodie(or just the other pocket) and pulls something out. He turns around and walks backward a few steps and then continues to talk to her. I know it doesn't seem like a plausible scenario, because she could still yell or scream or try to run away. All I can say is that it appeared as though he pointed something at her.

I will post the video shortly and you can judge for yourselves.

They look very different to me. Different wheels, tail lights, only bottom car has dent and black trim under back window, and they are possibly different colors.

The witness has told police a car did a sudden U-turn towards Ms Meagher as a man wearing a blue hoodie closed in.

The new CCTV showed the car and also a second man walking some distance ahead of Ms Meagher, the witness said last night.

Police last night would not confirm the witness reports.

I still think it looks like a small pistol in his hand, if he had a weapon pointed at her I don't think she would scream or run and she gets so shaken at that point, she seems to be reaching for her phone and looking back like she is terrified and helpless.

But doesn't he walk away first, after their encounter and she dawdles for a bit? If he pointed a gun at her and then walked away, do you think she would really follow in the same direction and not run the other way, screaming?

People often arent aware the vision on google maps can be up to five years old. It's not from a live satellite, so very unlikely the white car is the one beside which the bag was found, and the surroundings may well also have changed significantly since the vision was captured. MOO

Yes, I know the vision can be some time ago, but the vision is dated on that map as being 2012 - so it's this year at least, and could have been quite recent.

On the map, just north of Hope St - if you go out of the laneway of interest, head across the road into Little Breese St and go up there, there is a large are of building site, with what looks like footings for pylons or foundations etc. Apart from being another obvious place to drag somebody at night, and which has presumably has been searched thoroughly (hopefully before any more concrete was poured), the stage of that building site would give us a fairly close idea of the age of the imagery.

Any locals down there that can tell us what stage the building is now? Is it finished? Is it still pretty much as shown on Google Maps with exposed dirt everywhere?

I don't know if any of our wonderful video enhancers are about and can take a look at the footage between 0:57 and 1:00 - If you look at the "V" made by the straps of the 'orange' dress on the left hand side of the footage, you will see the POI's face clearly reflected. It has reflected off at least three glass surfaces of the vestibule but you can see his face pass. Video enhancement could make a significant image out of this.

Will this be the story about the witnesses who saw the vehicle make a u-turn? Does news in Australia do these blurbs to make you watch the news like they do here, even if the "news" is not so new?

Guess I am wondering why they would wait until news time if they really had something new and important.

Sincere apologies if this has been posted before, but there is a news article/video of a lady in Melbourne back in Nov 2011 who was in an attempted abduction, there's a sketch of the 2 men wanted in connection with her case, to me IMO they look similar to the bh and also to the man who turns his head? The Caucasian man looks like the same guy in the 3 sketches I posted earlier in relation to 3 other assaults on women in their 20's. These guys have to be brought in before they do more harm. I'm fairly confidant they will be caught soon and this case will be blown open. MOO :moo:

It certainly does seem coincedental that all these people look so similar and I hope the level of interest in this means he can be identified.

I am not sure what date the google image is but I looked on Near Maps and the white car is in the little alley where the bag was found, a lot, they do regular fly overs and you can see the area on various dates.

I lived in Brunswick for a while and I find all the streets off Sydney Rd to be very desolate and creepy, I never went out at night and rarely went to Sydney Rd in the day time.

Its certainly a very sad story.

I agree with previous posters that there is a striking resemblance between the various witness descriptions and police renderings.

Interestingly someone tweeted Catherine Deveny (the comedian who says she was attacked in July by a man of a similar appearance to the one in the CCTV footage with Jill) a link to this article: http://melbourne-leader.whereilive.com.au/news/story/woman-stabbed-in-fitzroy-north/ and asked her if it was the same man that she had seen, to which she replied: "nope". (Sorry if that breaks the social media rules, not sure if I should link!)

In the clear youtube video it skips again at 1.41.58 (jumps to 1.42.00) very briefly but its just as the dark haired man crosses the entry to the shop. He looks similar build to the darker haired man in the above attempt but hairline a little different. I'm really concerned at these video skips at inopportune times. Very new here - can someone explain if the police can enhance and tidy up cctv images to get a facial profile? And if so why wouldn't these stills have been circulated to the public?
