Australia Australia - Kylie Blackwood, 42, Pakenham, Vic, 1 Aug 2013

I believe that too. I think this is the reason it has been so quiet in the media and with LE.

Probably the same thing applies in Kylie's murder case .... someone she knew .... maybe even someone she knew very, very well.

I've been keeping an eye on the Pakenham-Berwick Gazette FB page.

I find it interesting that the original article about Kylie's murder (on 1st August) with all of the locals comments has been removed. So glad I got to read them all before it was removed. Someone was concerned that the murder was a 'setup'.

All that is left is this one, with only a couple of comments.

https://www.facebook.com/PakenhamBerwickGazette/posts/496807180403260

And their article about the 20-year old's death is here, included in the comments is a speculation that police know who committed the murder.

https://www.facebook.com/PakenhamBerwickGazette/posts/537812649636046

But there has been nothing written since either of the murders. Nothing at all. So odd. The townspeople can't speak of it? Or if they do, is it removed?

And the local paper has written no follow-up articles .... hmmm.

Thank you so much SouthAussie for that info!

I too have been keeping an eye on those FB pages, hoping for a new clue, but haven't looked for a few days. Good to know.

SO silent!! SO weird!!! :maddening:

Just a random thought ..... Pakenham is home to two chapters of OMCGs, so it may not be too difficult to find a 'hired gun' if one is wanted. And then it would be awfully hard for police to penetrate the cone of silence to extract the killer.

""Echo Taskforce was formed because Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG) are a top priority for Victoria Police," Acting Insp Murray said.
The names of the gangs that have infiltrated Victoria and where each of the 56 chapters is based is listed today.
It shows bikies have spread their tentacles across the suburbs and regions.
But Victoria Police is determined bikies will not win the war and has launched the special bikie-busting strike force.

REBELS PAKENHAM, PAKENHAM 3810
OUTLAWS PAKENHAM, PAKENHAM 3810"

The article is a little hard to read, scroll down to the pic of The Rebels and the full article is below that - in bits and pieces. Pretty long article, but it is an archived version from The Sunday Herald Sun 22/5/11, so has lines of ads and Top Stories, etc in between parts of the article. If you persevere, the whole article is there.

(There is a better link that is clearer to read, but it is a bikie forum, so I can't post the link.)

IMO - I doubt there is any OMCG's involved in either case. If there was involvement I believe it would be plastered all over the media like every other "bikie/associate" story.

<modsnip>

They say silence is golden, in these cases the silence is deafening.

Sounds like a plausible theory that an OCMG member was used as a hit man for both... Or either... Murder...

Thanks for doing the research, SouthAussie!

You're welcome Clue. Think it is important to keep an open mind and look at every possibility. Someone killed Kylie .. someone who has been able to fly under the radar, or perhaps is not local, or perhaps is protected by association with significant people in the community. They were very brazen to enter the home and kill Kylie in broad daylight, at a time when no-one else would be home.

As for <modsnip>, I wonder if there were custody/support issues, or if she knew too much about another local crime, or if she was too friendly with someone else's partner? Rumour describes her as a well-liked risk taker.

I do hope that police are quietly gathering information to make solid arrests in both cases, without the killer(s) fleeing the area.

I don't know how "scientific" this study is...

But it does give us "points to ponder"

My question... Does Real Estate Agent fall under the title of "Salesperson"? :waitasec:

Thanks for this Clue ... so interesting.

And yes, those people that sell those big chunks of bricks and mortar would be definitely be termed 'salespeople'.

Kinda creepy that surgeon comes in at #5 top profession for psychopaths :scared:

A story hit the news last night about a Melbourne lady attacked in her home on November 6, leaving her with life threatening injuries. Police are investigating possible links to dating websites and an ad she placed on Gumtree for a tenant. How frightening to think her attacker may have met her online and is still out there!

That poor woman! That's really alarming. I hope they find the guy :jail:

Absolutely, re the surgeon at number 5.

But what about police officer at number 7??!! That is seriously alarming!!!

(thank you for posting that list, Clue!!! Very interesting!)

Isn't it interesting to see the different approaches by families to find the attacker of their loved one?

Shey Webber's siblings are doing all they can to keep Shey's profile in the media and on FB. They really want police to catch the person who has ruined Shey's life, and seem to know to 'strike while the iron is hot' and get Shey into the news and the public eye so that anyone who knows anything can be alerted and potentially help by providing their information to the investigators.

Whereas Kylie's family are very private and quiet in their grief and anger. Off and on, I search for news and/or calls for assistance in identifying Kylie's killer, but .... nothing.

It has been 3½ months now. Are police building a case against someone specific?

Good point, SouthAussie!

I too keep checking up on info re Kylie - and nothing!! I'm struggling to comprehend it - in a way I can understand the family going inward with their grief, but I don't get why someone a bit more removed, like a family friend, doesn't take it up.

I feel like doing it for Kylie and I don't even know her!! I really don't want her case to just be forgotten, like she was nothing.....

:bump:

We haven't forgotten you Kylie ... still hoping that justice for you is on its way.

"We've had a lot of assistance from people that live various lifestyles, who think they might be able to help with individuals and we encourage that type of caller to ring again.

"We would certainly offer whatever it takes for people to come forward if they think it can help us, whatever it takes, including protection, anonymity, whatever it takes," Det Insp Potter said.

"Police took a computer hard drive and bags from the house."

Still wondering about those 'other lifestyles' of potential witnesses/informants that police were referring to - were they just a criminal element .. or were they something else?

And there is an awful lot of stuff in that yellow evidence bag .. clothes? bedding? .. wonder what it is.

Hopefully everything has been tested by now and is leading police down a specific path to the killer.

So hoping for a result for Kylie ... soon :please:

Jumping off your post...

It would be interesting to see which category of "criminal element" was/is most represented in the messages to LE?

Maybe these "criminals" have some type of "inside" knowledge of this case specifically... Or this type of case in general...

For instance... Are these outraged commenters mostly:

Murderers...?

Tech hackers...?

Hit men...?

White collar crime...?

Or.... ???

This reminds me of the old saying..."It takes a thief to catch a thief"...
Therefore... " It takes a ______ (fill in blank) to catch a _______ (fill in blank with same word)...

Just some thoughts... :waitasec:

I was also wondering if they could be other (sort of) than the criminal element ... for example, Kylie loved horses, she followed a famous Melbourne Cup winning horse on FB. Did they go to the races a lot? Were there gambling debts? Did someone do someone wrong? Maybe Kylie wasn't meant to die ... maybe she was meant to get hurt .. and be left with scarring .... but she was on her own for too long and bled out?? :(

(ETA: Not suggesting any debts were necessarily Kylie's debts ... they could have been more like 'family' debts.)

Oh... Okay... I see...

Yes... I hadn't really entertained the thought that this was possibly NOT an intentional murder...

but rather a "scare tactic"/warning/revenge of some sort....

Good theory! :thumb:

Example of horse racing debts is one that is plausible ...

Or... Other types of gambling debts...

or... Business deals gone bad...

or... ???

And, of course, we are NOT insinuating that this is of Kylie's doing... Good to make that clear...

The reason that I wonder this is because Kylie was found 'barely clinging to life'. If she was found sooner, say at 1pm instead of at 3:30ish or so (after school) - and that is presuming she was attacked by an intruder at around 12 noonish - would she be alive today, could she have been saved?

Mrs Blackwood was found barely clinging to life by her twin 11-year-old daughters in their home nearly two weeks ago. Ambulance officers were called but could not save her.

http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/...lackwoods_murder_has_frightened_so_many_women

It is all so odd, Kylie barely clinging to life, Shey Webber barely clinging to life, Morgan Huxley barely clinging to life ....

Is there a bunch of killers around who don't know how to kill? Or are there angry people around who attack viciously without caring whether they kill or not, or who don't actually intend to kill - but the elapsing of too much time (varying in each case due to the nature of the injuries) till their victims were found meant that at least 2 of them have died?
