Quite a bit of evidence is heard at committal hearings but nowhere near all of it. The rest is saved for the trial if there is one as the hearing basically decides if there is enough evidence to take the case to trial.

An example of our committal hearings & the type of evidence/documents that are released is over in Allison Baden Clay threads.

Over the years there's only been a couple of cases which were streamed live, one very high profile, Lindy Chamberlain. There are moves in some states to have it allowed. From memory, I think it was Gittany case, there was a request for the sentence to be live streamed but it was subsequently knocked back by the judge.

Thanks, Marlywings! :seeya:

I have often wondered if DJK will just plead guilty to some lesser charge, and if that is what all the delay in entering a plea has been about.

Some perps you just know what they are going to do. Like in Lisa's case. There was no way Gittany was going to admit guilt of anything ... there was no way he threw Lisa off that balcony.

With DJK, I just don't get an immediate feel that he is going to plead not guilty.

I still don't think there was any kind of hookup.

I'm convinced Morgan just ran into a seriously messed-up pervert (or was stalked!) while too drunk to exercise any kind of caution.

Or he could string everyone along right up until close to a trial as was the case with Trinity Bates killer, who "neighbours described as being intellectually disabled", He went through all the usual, bail hearing, committal hearing then at a pre-trial hearing a few days before the trial was due to start he changed his plea to guilty.

MORGAN Huxley’s alleged killer has today been charged with indecently assaulting and breaking into the home of the small business owner he allegedly stabbed to death.

Daniel Jack Kelsall, 21, didn’t appear on the screen of Central Local Court as charges of indecent assault and aggravated break in with intent to commit a serious indictable offence were served on him by police.

Thanks for that, enzeder :seeya:

Wow, they're really laying on the charges - making sure they get him on something, I assume......

Interesting charge.

I assume DJK told them that info when he handed himself in........But how can they prove that the sexual contact wasn't consensual when Morgan isn't here to say that it wasn't?
I asked myself the same question.

The court heard today that discussions were still taking place between the DPP and Kelsall’s lawyer George Brereton ahead of a potential committal hearing next month.....

.......Mr Brereton said outside court that Kelsall has “settled” since his arrest.

What does that mean, he's "settled" since his arrest? Was he unsettled?

Such a strange case this one.......I have a million questions, none of which may get answered!!:banghead:
